Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that Christian was secretly cleared last week and is expected to wrestle again in WWE.

The former World Heavyweight champion had a string of concussions which ultimately led him to cut his career short and prior to the Royal Rumble appearance, he last wrestled in 2014. Christian had just won a fatal four-way match to become the new number one contender for the Intercontinental title in March of that year but suffered a concussion in the match and was never cleared to return after that.

Meltzer says that it’s still unclear how many matches Christian will have in WWE this year but this was not a one-time deal. In his post-match comments, Christian said he was promised one more match and the Rumble might have been it.
