Christian Cage cashes in his AEW title contract…and fails

Christian Cage finally cashed in his AEW World title contract last night at Revolution but he failed to successfully make the most out of it after Moxley put him to sleep to end the match and retain his title.

Cage won the contract back in August 2024 during the casino gauntlet match at All In in Wembley Stadium and while there were several teases of cashing in over the past several months, he pulled the trigger last night.

During the main event, Cope was about to win the title after hitting a spear on Moxley but before the referee could count to three, an individual with a black hoodie pulled the ref out, breaking the pin. He then hit his former tag team partner with the metal case and signed the contract which was in it.

Cage hit a spear, and then the Killswitch on Cope, but Moxley had recovered by then and locked him in a choke before Cage had the chance to go for the cover. Cage passed out at the ends of Mox, ending the match without the gold and most importantly, screwing Cope out of another world title.
