As reported yesterday, former NXT champion Bobby Roode is in Detroit for SummerSlam weekend but the Glorious star will not be appearing on television.

PWInsider.com reports that Roode will work as a producer at tonight’s SummerSlam and also Monday during Raw. It’s unclear if this is just a tryout or a new permanent position for him.

Roode underwent two spinal fusion surgeries since December of last year, with the recent one being in May. A return to the ring is certainly not on the horizon yet considering the recovery time for those surgeries.

The 47-year-old last wrestled on June 25, 2022 at a non-televised live event losing to Omos.
