Apollo Crews makes surprise appearance on NXT

Apollo Crews is back in NXT and the former United States champion became the latest main roster star to return to the brand for a short stint.

Crews, who was part of the black and gold brand between 2014 and 2016, answered Bron Breakker’s challenge for someone to step up. The NXT crowd at the Performance Center were happy to see Crews back and chanted “welcome back.” Crews said that this was the type of energy he missed.

“I wasn’t here on Saturday, but I’m here now, and I’m here for as long as I wanna be,” Crews said. The two eventually shook hands to end the segment.

Crews was also involved in a match, teaming with Solo Sikoa as they fought Carmelo Hayes and Grayson Waller. Crews got the pin and the victory for his team.
