Alexa Bliss becomes number one contender for the Smackdown Women’s title

Despite being a Raw Superstar, Alexa Bliss became the number one contender for the Smackdown Women’s title last night thanks to the wildcard rule introduced several weeks ago.

Bliss, returning to action after a few months out, defeated Charlotte and Carmella in a triple threat match to become the number one contender. Bliss was originally advertised to be wrestling at Money In The Bank as part of the ladder match but was not cleared by doctors.

And with no women allowed on the Super ShowDown event from Saudi Arabia this Friday, Alexa vs Bayley becomes the first one on the card for the Stomping Grounds pay-per-view which takes place on June 23.
