AJ Styles refutes online story that he agreed on a new WWE deal

Former WWE champion AJ Styles has refuted a story which is making the rounds online that he has agreed a new deal with WWE.

Styles, whose contract is coming up in a couple of months, has so far not signed a new WWE contract and reportedly wants to work less dates if he were to agree to a new one. Styles has pretty much ran a full schedule ever since he joined WWE in 2016.

Responding to a tweet which lead to a story with the headline ‘Breaking: AJ Styles comes to terms on new WWE contract’, Styles wrote, “What was that? Are you sure? Please let me know the more because I know nothing about this.”

The person who wrote the story, Thomas Fenton for Wrestling News World, has however stood behind his writing, adding, “Full respect to AJ, however I stand behind the story, and time will certainly tell the validity of the story.”

Styles is not the only one whose contract is expiring in a few months with Shinsuke Nakamura also nearing the end of his deal.
