A look at the upcoming Miz & Mrs reality TV docuseries on USA Network

Entertainment Weekly published a one-minute look at Miz & Mrs, the new reality TV docuseries featuring The Miz and Maryse.

Cameras followed the WWE duo as they prepared for the arrival of their first child. “It’s pretty insane,” Maryse told EW when describing the show.

Her husband The Miz said that things have certainly changed from when he was part of the reality show The Real World on MTV. “No one respected you, no one liked you, no one wanted you,” he said. “It was kind of frowned upon in Hollywood. You were like the red-headed stepchild. So that’s the way I’ve always felt as a reality star,” he continued.

But The Miz and Maryse took a different approach with their new series, not necessarily reinventing the wheel, but as he said it, “make a shiny new wheel that people can look at and go, ‘Wow, this is something special, this is something nice.’”

He said that when they decided to make the show, they didn’t want people to go “oh that was fake” or “that was real,” but instead you watch it like you watch Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Office, and other shows.

“You watch it, you get enthralled by the characters, you follow the stories, and you just enjoy the show. We made a 30-minute comedy and it’s things that people can relate to and I think that’s what’s gonna set us apart from everybody else.”

Miz & Mrs debuts on Tuesday, July 24 at 10PM EST on USA Network immediately following Smackdown Live.
