The Knight Model Management faction continued to take shape before the cameras started rolling at Friday Night Smackdown last night.
NXT’s LA Knight announced that his newest client is Mansoor, the 26-year-old from Saudi Arabia who has been signed with WWE since late 2018.
Knight appeared last week in the ring to announce former Retribution member Mace as his first client. Knight has not appeared on NXT since his loss to Gunther at Stand & Deliver on April 2.
The two members of FTR – Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood – will be colliding with each other this coming Wednesday on Dynamite in an Owen Hart cup tournament qualifying match.
“My emotions are all over the place leading up to Wednesday,” Wheeler wrote on Twitter. “A match to honor the life & legacy of Owen Hart. My first AEW singles match. And it’s against my best friend in a match we’ve talked about for years.”
He added that he was anxious, excited, nervous, but ready for this challenge.
Harwood also added that this will be the first – and only – time that they will be facing each other.
The ROH Tag Team champions are big fans of the Harts and Bret will even be accompanying them to an indie event on June 10.
Arena: Peterson Events Center
City: Pittsburgh, PA
Before we get into the show, a few thoughts about the latest ‘huge announcement’. Despite not being a New Japan viewer, this is an intriguing idea with tons of possibilities which should feature some awesome wrestling. I’m looking forward to it.
It also did a great job beginning the build for a potential Jay White/Kenny Omega match and a wider Elite/Bullet Club/Undisputed conflict – ‘single-handedly sold-out Madison Square Garden’.
That said, for the casual fan, the irregular viewer, the new viewer – the presumed target of these announcements – this simply will not mean very much.
And now…
It’s Saturday morning, and you know what that means… it’s time for our Rampage Review!
ADAM COLE VS TOMOHIRO ISHII w/ ROCKY ROMERO & ORANGE CASSIDY, OWEN HART QUALIFIER
Story going in: Part of the hype for the upcoming AEW/NJPW PPV
An exchange of shoulder tackles saw Cole come off worse, Ishii in complete command as he beat Bay Bay around ringside until chopping the post when Cole ducked.
Ground and pound, a knee to the spine, a chinlock and a neckbreaker followed, the Japanese attempting to fight his way up from the mat. In beginning to paint-brush the import with slaps to the face, AC awoke the dragon, Ishii stepping forward into his opponent’s strikes before introducing his fist to Cole’s face and Cole’s face to the mat.
A rapid exchange saw Ishii land a powerslam, fight out of a headlock with a backdrop suplex for a count of two, Cole punch his way out of a powerbomb, both evade superkick/lariat attempts until AC finally snatched up the Stone Pitbull, dropping him neck-first across the knee.
Back from the break, Cole was draped across the top buckle, awaiting a delayed high-angle superplex. Missing with a sliding lariat, Ishii succumbed to a superkick but avoided the Boom, landing the lariat at the second attempt for a near fall. Knee then met neck again as Cole gained one of his own.
Ishii was out on the mat, got groggily to feet, and was greeted with a superkick only to shake it off to the delight of the crowd, returning an enziguri and dropping Cole as the ref began the double count.
A further headbutt/superkick/lariat exchange left Ishii on top until Jay White came out and dropped Rocky Romero, leading to the low blow and the Boom as Cole joined O’Reilly and Samoa Joe in the Owen Hart tournament.
Excellent last few minutes to cap a gripping, high-paced, hard-hitting opener.
WINNER: Adam Cole
Outside, earlier today, the Jericho Appreciation Society were trying to gain access, despite being banned. Jericho said he ran the place, the rules didn’t apply. Tried to bully security. Garcia said it didn’t matter if he had to go alone, he’d win anyway.
Danhausen’s finally done it. What Lexi Nair failed to do despite weeks of trying (she should probably be fired). Turns out all you had to do to make him talk was destroy Hook’s chips, which Danhausen believed were the source of his power:
‘You wanted my attention, you got it now.’
LANCE ARCHER VS SERPENTICO
Story going in: Archer is the latest payee in MJF’s attempts to take down Wardlow
Serpentico dove through the ropes onto Archer as he made his entrance, but didn’t phase the big man. It went downhill from there. Blackout, foot on the chest, 1,2,3. Continuing the beating, Archer mimicked the Powerbomb Symphony with chokeslams. Don’t know about you but I’m convinced Wardlow’s losing now.
WINNER: Lance Archer
Tony Nese/Mark Sterling video package, not much to it, ‘Premiere Athlete’ etc.
EDDIE KINGSTON VS DANIEL GARCIA, ALL ALLIES BANNED FROM RINGSIDE
Story going in: Kingston’s looking for revenge after Jericho’s new group – including Garcia – beat-up the ‘Mad King’. Eddie promised this would be a taste of what he’d do to Jericho.
Loud ‘Eddie’ chants – as loud as this crowd got anyway – not much of a reaction for his opponent.
Attacking with chops and slaps, Kingston forced Garcia’s retreat to the outside, pausing briefly to pay tribute to Shinjiro Ohtani. Flinging Garcia into the ringsteps, Eddie missed a follow-up, injuring his ribs as the action made its way back inside.
Taking over, Garcia controlled things down on the mat, targeting the ribs whenever Kingston attempted to fight back. Aggressive shots to the face in the corner led to a bite fight, ending with Eddie being flung into the ring post as the ads arrived.
A chest-reddening exchange of chops greeted us on our return, Eddie continuing to fight from underneath but being cut off by shots to the ribs every time he did. A suplex gained a two-count for the Sports Entertainer.
Garcia continued the punishment, torturing Kingston in a Boston Crab, then a sharpshooter, refusing to break as the ribs continued to take the brunt of his attack.
Finally back on the offensive, the Mad King struck with a poke to the eye, enziguri, exploder, one, two… kick out. Kingston’s signalling for the Back Fist briefly woke a crowd made quiet by Garcia’s dominance, before it put the youngster to sleep for the count of three.
After, Kingston threatened to literally whip Garcia before deciding he’s saving it for Jericho.
The improvement in Garcia’s gear can’t be overstated. Huge upgrade. Still doesn’t quite feel like a fit among the Sports Entertainers though. In Eddie’s case, his threat to Jericho wasn’t worth much as he was dominated for most of the match.
WINNER: Eddie Kingston
‘Instant Chemistry’ (no, they’re not actually called that) Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland joined us along with Tony. Who immediately annoyed Lee by referring to last week’s loss to Team Taz as entertaining. It’s nice when the wrestlers care about losing.
Swerve said they’d pay Team Taz back in blood, ‘the war’s far from over’. If these two aren’t made into at least a semi-permanent tag-team, we riot.
A ‘broke-ass Kenan and Kel’ is how Ricky Starks referred to them when he responded from the commentary booth. The saga continues.
Busy, Tony was back again with Toni (we almost had a mid-90s R&B group) Storm, Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter. All three having qualified for the Owen Hart tournament. Storm implied Britt was inexperienced, hadn’t done much outside Pittsburgh. She might see her later, if Britt made it.
Before the final match, next week’s Dynamite: Deeb vs Shida part 3,672, FTR face-off in the Owen Hart tournament, Sammy vs Sky – ladder match, TNT title (the Men of the Year and Lambert cut a hell of a babyface promo on Wednesday), Undisputed Elite vs Dante Martin (poor Darius is injured again), Varsity Blondes, Lee Johnson and Brock Anderson, Archer vs Wardlow.
Busy on her phone, Jade ignored the pre-match promo, Sterling did it for her.
MARINA SHAFIR VS JADE CARGILL, WOMEN’S TBS TITLE
Story going in: Jade is going for 30-0, Marina’s been on a roll (so we’re told) and Jade’s been taking her lightly.
I use the phrase ‘so we’re told’ because for those of us who only see what’s on TV, well, we don’t see her. It breaks the old adage of storytelling: show don’t tell. Which is why Shafir drew a reaction last week which made the word dead dig itself up and shoot itself.
Well, at least the people reacted to Marina this week. The same way they react to Sammy Guevara. Meanwhile, Jade was loudly cheered, because a heel you see regularly and you see as a star is better than a nobody you’ve been given no reason to care about.
Getting straight in Jade’s face, Shafir targeted the legs before locking on a sleeper. Countering with power moves, Jade dumped the challenger with a fallaway slam, sending her outside where the ‘Baddie Section’ took it out on Shafir, before infringing on Adam Cole’s gimmick with the Bucks as the champ took a double kiss to the cheeks from her followers.
A belly to back in the middle led to a near fall for the champion, Cargill flexing after laying in shots from the mount. Taking advantage, Marina launched a vicious kick and the front chancery. A few ‘boring’ chants from a minority.
Returning from the break, continuing to target the legs, Marina hooked a knee-bar until Cargill grabbed the ropes, then smacked Jade’s leg into the post, dragging her outside before dropping Sterling as we saw the Baddies trying to help Jade to her feet.
Distracting Marina just long enough, they allowed Jade to strike with a pump kick that came flying in from off the screen and a really vicious, painful looking rock bottom onto the table at ringside.
Returning to the ring, a nonchalant cover, Jericho style, allowed Marina to grab a leg hook as she screamed at Jade to ‘solve me’. Which the champion promptly did, booting her way out and following up with Jaded for the win.
Exceptionally slow and basic, anyone searching for a pulse in the crowd would’ve been doing so for a long time. There’s no doubting Jade’s look and presence, nor can you argue against a title defense main eventing, but from an entertainment standpoint, this shouldn’t have closed the show.
WINNER: Jade Cargill
AEW has really begun to take Rampage seriously again over the last few weeks. Everything here had a build, everything here had a purpose, everything here was not just advertised but given promo time on Dynamite, if not an A show, it at least felt like it mattered.
Smackdown opens with Adam Pearce in the ring with a table and chairs set up. He announces Charlotte Flair who makes her way to the ring. Pearce then announces Ronda Rousey, who comes to the ring as well.
Pearce said to make this all work, we just need two signatures on a contract, a contract he does not have, and out comes Drew Gulak who is now interning to be Pearce’s assistant, with a contract.
Before Rousey could sign the contract, Charlotte overturns the table onto Rousey and there was a kendo stick hidden. Rousey takes the stick off Flair and begins to hit her. Gulak then grabbed Rousey to stop the attack but Rousey grabs Gulak and slams him to the mat, she then grabs Gulak into an armbar as she signs the contract.
Xavier Woods VS. Butch
After a great back and forth match, Woods catches Butch with a small package for the win.
Winner: Xavier Woods
After the match Butch walks away through the crowd.
In the back, Aliyah is talking to Ricochet and says how great he has been doing and asks him what is next. Ricochet says it’s an honor to wear this title as Jinder Mahal walked up and Shanky issues a challenge for tonight.
Gunther VS. Teddy Goodz
Gunther squashed Goodz with a powerbomb into a pin.
Winner: Gunther
Riddle VS. Jey Uso
Jey hits the pop-up neck breaker but only gets the 2-count. Jey off the top for a splash but Riddle gets his knees up and rolls up Jey for the pin.
Winner: Riddle
They advertise Monday Night Raw with a 20-year celebration for “The Viper” Randy Orton.
Naomi and Sasha Banks interviewed in the ring by Kayla Braxton. Naomi says it doesn’t matter who is coming for these titles next. Natalya and Shayna Baszler come out. Baszler says what everyone is looking at in here are the next tag team champions then pushes Banks to the mat. Naomi holds Banks back from going after her and says if you want them come and take them.
Madcap Moss is shown working out in the back, Happy Corbin walks up and congratulates him on his win last week and wants to forgive him. He asks if he was ready to come back. Moss says him coming back to be Corbin’s sidekick is about as much chance as Corbin growing a whole head of hair and says that ship has sailed and begins laughing hysterically.
Madcap Moss VS. Angel
After Humberto attempted to help Angel, Moss overpowered Angel and Moss hits the punchline for the win.
Winner: Madcap Moss
After the match, Corbin runs in and attacks Moss. End of Days leaves Moss laying in the ring. Corbin then picks up and carries away the Andre the Giant Memorial Trophy.
Sami Zayn is shown in the back trying to get enough courage to knock on Roman Reigns’ door.
Roman Reigns is shown talking to the Usos, Paul Heyman comes and says he has a guest to see him. It’s Sami Zayn! Zayn starts by saying, “I acknowledge you.” Zayn says he saw Drew McIntyre getting real chummy with RK-Bro and are going to be lumberjacks for his match and he heard them saying bad things about Reigns and his family so why he is there he is asking for some help. Reigns says he got people on his show running their mouths about him so he tells The Usos to take his name out of their mouths.
Chapter 3 of Lacey Evans’ story is shown.
Drew McIntyre VS. Sami Zayn in a Lumberjack Match
As the lumberjacks brawl at ringside, Zayn is laying on the floor, so Drew takes to the air and takes all the lumberjacks out. Zayn is then seen hoping over the rail and running away again. Adam Pearce comes out and says he never thought he would ever see anyone be able to run away from a lumberjack match but next week there will be no running because Sami Zayn will go one on one again with Drew McIntyre this time in a steel cage.
As McIntyre was trading words with Zayn, Jinder Mahal and Shanky attack McIntyre. McIntyre fights back and Shanky gets thrown from the ring as the countdown started and Claymore to Mahal.
The upcoming episode of Monday Night Raw will feature the celebration of Randy Orton’s 20th anniversary in WWE.
Orton’s career with WWE started in 2001 when he signed a developmental deal and was shipped to Ohio Valley Wrestling, graduating in the same class with John Cena, Brock Lesnar, and Batista.
His main roster call came in March 2002 and as the saying goes, the rest is history. The Viper became one of the most liked, and disliked, WWE Superstars in history with a career that included a total of 20 titles.
Orton is a 14-time former world champion, winning the WWE title 10 times and the World Heavyweight title four times, a one-time Intercontinental, United States, and World Tag Team champion, two-time Raw Tag Team champion, and one time Smackdown Tag Team champion.
He also won the Money In The Bank in 2013, the Royal Rumble in 2009 and 2017, and was the 17th triple crown champion.
WWE will do a double Smackdown television tapings tonight, first with the live broadcast and then tape next week’s show due to the European tour.
WWE will hold four live events in Europe on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday before returning to the U.S. on Monday in time for Raw so that meant that next week’s Smackdown had to be taped.
Announced for tonight’s Smackdown are Riddle vs Jey Uso, Drew McIntyre vs Sami Zayn in a lumberjack match, Madcap Moss vs Angel, and a contract signing between Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey.
Roman Reigns still doesn’t have a match announced for Backlash and he only had an interaction with Shinsuke Nakamura two weeks ago. The undisputed champ will be part of Backlash so it is likely that his program for that show will start tonight.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that two-time WWE Hall of Famer Bret “Hit Man” Hart has “quietly signed a lucrative WWE deal.”
What the deal includes remains to be seen but Meltzer says that as part of the agreement, he cannot appear for AEW and that is why he will be accompanying FTR at an indie show rather than for a match on an AEW broadcast. Meltzer adds that his new deal allows Bret to do indie shows.
Signing a new WWE deal also means that Bret will play no part in the AEW Owen Hart Foundation tournament although that was the likely scenario anyway as Bret and Martha Hart are not close and Martha often said in the past that she doesn’t speak to the Hart family.
Bret will be part of the Big Time Wrestling show on Friday, June 10, and will be in the corner of Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler as they take on Brian Pillman Jr and Brock Anderson with Arn Anderson in their corner.
The popularity of wrestling has blossomed in recent years. Drawn by the backstories and drama of the fights, fans numbering millions from across the globe tune in religiously. This has brought with it an increased interest in placing bets.
So, in this guide, we’ll take a look at wrestling in a little more detail. We’ll explore some of the most popular competitions before taking a look at how to bet on wrestling.
The best wrestling competitions to follow
A few years ago, there wasn’t too much choice in the types of wrestling you could follow. World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), now known as World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), were the dominant forces.
WWE continues to reign supreme in the wrestling world. Created by Vince McMahon, the franchise has on its books some of the leading names in wrestling, such as The Undertaker, The Rock and Kane.
However, WWE’s ratings have been on the slide, and that has allowed other organizations to rise up. One of these is All Elite Wrestling (AEW). The company recently secured a deal to be aired weekly on US network TNT, which has only added to its popularity.
In addition to the more commercial competitions, there are lots of amateur wrestling matches that you can bet on. However, not all betting companies may offer odds.
Let’s take a look at how to bet on wrestling.
How to bet on wrestling
Betting on wrestling is much the same as any other sport. And it doesn’t matter if you want to place a bet using online sports betting in Tennessee or in Alabama, since all leading sportsbooks offer you the ability to place these bets.
Straight wagers
One of the simplest bets that you can make is to simply back one wrestler to win. With this type of bet, there are no gimmicks attached. You’re simply backing one person to defeat the other by tap out.
With this particular bet, you may not get the best odds, especially if you’re looking to back the favorite.
What you could do instead is look to make an accumulator bet. This involves backing the winner in several fights. The more selections you make, the greater the odds. And the more unlikely the bet, the bigger the potential payout.
Some betting sites may also offer a cash out option, allowing you to bow out of the bet before all fights have taken place, usually with some profit in your pocket.
The downside to accumulators is that they can be tough to call and surprises have a habit of cropping up in sport. However, if you research your bets thoroughly, you stand a better chance of calling it right.
Events
One of the best times to place a bet on wrestling is around the time of or during popular events. Most of these major events are hosted by the WWE. They have five standout bouts throughout the year, which are:
These pay-per-view events often draw viewers numbering in their millions. WrestleMania, for example, is the most successful and longest-running professional wrestling event in history.
In the run-up to these events, online betting companies and sportsbooks offer many different deals to try and attract new players.
One popular welcome bonus is the matched first bet or deposit. In other words, the betting site will match the first bet you make. For example, if you back Edge to win a fight and place a bet of $100, the betting site will match it, so you stand to get double the payout if you win.
Some betting sites offer matched bets of up to $2,000, so if you’re sure about the outcome of a particular fight, you could win a little extra money.
Some betting sites also offer other deals and bonuses like free spins on slot machine games. You could get as many as 50 spins to use on a range of different games. Any money you win is yours to keep.
In summary
Wrestling continues to draw in bigger and bigger crowds, and in doing so, the popularity of betting on the sport has increased. As we’ve seen above, there are a number of ways in which you can place a bet, and in combination with generous welcome bonuses, payouts could be significant.
So keep an eye out for any major wrestling events and check if any betting sites are offering deals that could help you win.
The Miz and Titus O’Neil will both be part of the NFL Draft presentation of their respective hometown teams, with the former WWE champion announcing picks for the Cleveland Browns and O’Neil announcing picks for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The 2022 NFL Draft will take place in Las Vegas next week.
“I am thrilled to head to Las Vegas to represent my hometown Cleveland Browns at the NFL Draft. As someone who grew up a huge Browns fan, the opportunity to play a small part in the future of the franchise is a dream come true. This is going to be AWESOME,” said The Miz.
O’Neil added, “I’m honored to represent my Hometown NFL team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, at this year’s NFL Draft. As a person who holds a great relationship with many of the players and someone who enjoys an impactful partnership with the Bucs organization serving the Tampa Bay Region through my Bullard Family Foundation, this is truly a special moment.”
WWE did not reveal which picks they will be announcing. O’Neil will do his appearance on the second day on April 29 which also happens to be his birthday!
Dynamite held up its audience pretty well despite competition from the NBA Playoffs this week as the hype for the huge announcement and the coffin match main event worked to keep people tuned in. The show this week drew 930,000 viewers, down just 47,000 viewers from the previous show. It also did the same 0.37 rating in 18-49, coming in #4 in the top 50 cable chart for the night. Back on October 30, 2021, a fan posted on Twitter how his brother passed away and wrote how he and his nephew were being kept company by Rampage on television.
Cody Rhodes, who was an AEW EVP back then, replied to the tweet saying they have a beautiful family bond and invited them to an AEW show near them. The family lived in Philadelphia and the fan replied back saying that he would love to take his nephew to his first AEW show but the company had already been to Philly.
Cody told him not to sweat it, and he would follow him on Twitter and whenever AEW was close, all he wanted was a reminder and he’ll take care of it.
Fast forward six months, and Cody is no longer with AEW but the promotion will be in Philadelphia on April 27 for Dynamite.
“My nephew just asked about this with the upcoming Dynamite in Philadelphia and I’m trying to explain to him that the guy who was getting us tickets is in WWE now so idk,” @Sooplexx wrote.
Cody, again, saw the message, and despite now being part of WWE and no longer with AEW, the former TNT champion kept his word.
“I got ya’ – check dms,” Cody responded, getting him tickets for Dynamite that he originally promised six months ago.

Bray Wyatt has resurfaced on Twitter, changing his name to just a red circle and a creepy-looking drawing as a profile picture.
Posting a few hours ago, the former champion wrote, “I do think it’s true that ‘he who makes a beast of himself, gets rid of the pain of being a man.'”
He then posted a drawing of a snake going into a man’s mouth, adding, “But if you become the machine, you don’t have to feel at all. #WhatIf? To be Sentient.”
Wyatt broke his Twitter silence on April 2 after five months of inactivity, praising The Undertaker for his Hall of Fame induction.
“The word legend is thrown around a lot these days, but no one owns that title like The Deadman does. It was an honor every time I stepped in the ring with him. For my money he is the best to ever lace ‘em up. I’m happy for you man! Well deserved,” he wrote.
Wyatt was surprisingly released from WWE in August of last year and has not wrestled since his loss to Randy Orton at WrestleMania 37 a year ago.
Smackdown color commentator and fan favorite Pat McAfee could be in line for even bigger things as the former NFL player is in negotiations with Amazon to join their Thursday Night Football broadcast according to the New York Post.
The Pat McAfee Show, which airs on YouTube and SiriusXM, could also be moving to Amazon’s Prime Video platform as part of the deal.
“Hey…Let’s all keep it cool but like.. I’m 1000% UP TO SOMETHING,” McAfee tweeted this week.
If McAfee ends up joining the Amazon broadcast of NFL games, the appointment should not interfere with his WWE duties every Friday. McAfee travels to each Smackdown location via private jet every week and leaves immediately after to go back home.
The 34-year-old had his first WrestleMania match this year, beating Austin Theory and then lost to Vince McMahon. He is well-liked within the company, something which was very evident when even Vince McMahon showed up at his studio for a live interview and then worked with him at Mania.
April 20, 2022 — Moments ago on AEW: Dynamite live on TBS, the hinges were fully ripped off the Forbidden Door, as it was announced that AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling will present their first ever joint pay-per-view special this summer. “AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door” will take place live on Sunday, June 26, at the United Center in Chicago, featuring marquee matchups between members of AEW and NJPW’s world-class rosters.
Tickets for the historic PPV event go on sale on Friday, May 6, at 11 a.m. ET/10 a.m. CT at AEWTix.com and Ticketmaster.com. Fans in the United States and Canada can watch the PPV via purchase on the Bleacher Report app or via their local Cable or Satellite provider. The program will be available with both English and Spanish commentary. The PPV will be available in international markets on FITE.tv. Fans in Japan can watch on iPPV on NJPWWorld.com with live Japanese commentary.
“As the world continues to reopen, I’m making sure the Forbidden Door follows suit and we can finally give fans the dream events they’ve always imagined,” said Tony Khan, CEO, GM and Head of Creative of AEW. “The United Center was home to one of AEW’s biggest events of all time, The First Dance, where CM Punk made his return to wrestling after a seven-year hiatus. This summer, fans of AEW and NJPW can expect the unexpected during this extraordinary, first-of-its-kind pay-per-view between our two incredible companies.
“As we have done for more than 50 years, the power of pro-wrestling can energize people by fulfilling their dreams,” said Takami Ohbari, President of NJPW. “Now, it’s quite an important mission for us, the pro-wrestling industry as a whole. We are not only opening this door. We will show you NJPW’s genuine Strong-Style beyond the Forbidden door.”
This announcement furthers the opening of the Forbidden Door, coming just over a month after Tony Khan announced that he agreed to acquire the assets of Ring of Honor, and less than three weeks after he produced the ROH Supercard of Honor pay-per-view in Dallas, featuring a number of major title changes and ROH alumni appearances including Samoa Joe, The Young Bucks, Wheeler Yuta, Jay Lethal, Lee Moriarty, Matt Sydal, Sonjay Dutt and Mercedes Martinez.
The upcoming AEW console video game will be titled Fight Forever and the name was revealed by AEW President Tony Khan last night to fans in the arena.
Appearing in front of the fans, Khan told everyone that they’re all entering into a verbal contract with him and asked if they all want to be part of the AEW Fight Forever game. The fans obviously obliged and then Khan said they have to promise him that they have to save some energy for Rampage too!
Ring announcer Justin Roberts then led the fans to some chants which were being recorded specifically for the video game.
The chants were for FTR, referee Aubrey Edwards, Jeff Hardy, Sting, Adam Cole, and Hangman Adam Page.
Japan-based Yuke’s is developing the game for AEW but there is no info on a release date yet.
NXT on USA Network did 569,000 viewers this week 41,000 viewers from the previous week. The show also felt the wrath of of the NBA Playoffs and was the least-watched NXT since March 1. NXT did a 0.12 rating in the 18-49 demo, same as last week, and placed #44 in the top 50 cable chart for the night. (Ratings credit: Showbuzzdaily.com)
As a student, it’s important to know what you can learn from wrestling.
The word wrestling is usually associated with two muscled men wrestling each other where the stronger wins the competition.
However, did you know that there are important lessons students can learn from the sport?
In this article, you’re going to learn important life lessons students can get from wrestling.
So without further ado, let’s dive in.
Wrestling Teaches Discipline
One of the most important life lessons students can learn from wrestling is discipline.
See, as a sport, there are rules you need to adhere to otherwise, you will not win no matter how many blows you rain on your opponent.
First off, discipline starts with what you need to eat before the competition and the number of workouts you must do. As a student, you need to be disciplined to manage your schoolwork to avoid compromising on one hand.
Discipline is also a life lesson you can learn from any other sport as well.
You Win the Battle Before You Enter The ‘Red Zone’
“Whatever your mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” ~Napoleon Hill.
It all starts in your mind.
Another life lesson students can learn from wrestling is that the battle is won not the time when one muscle down the other in the red zone but before- and in the mind.
The reality is that in life, your mind can determine whether you will succeed or not. In wrestling, even though you will do a lot of tough physical training, being keen on your diet, developing your mindset can help you succeed during wrestling.
Even though you’re competing against your opponent, the first competition you need to win during wrestling is against your mind.
Part of the reasons why many people don’t win during wrestling isn’t because they aren’t able or lack the strength but the fears and limitations they construct internally which makes them conquered by their opponents.
This also applies when you’re looking for assignment writing help. If in your mind, you aren’t sure you will get better grades on an assignment, choosing a good assignment writing service won’t be possible.
You Must Make Continous and Dynamic Movements and Maneuvres to Beat Your Opponent
When on the mat, your opponent might push you one way. To counter your enemy, you have multiple options, one of them is pushing your opponent in another direction then using it to pin them down.
You can’t easily win the competition by resisting or staying in one position. Your opponent will muscle you down or push you out of the mat.
In fact, during training, coaches teach wrestlers to circle around their opponents and avoid being pushed around.
In life, not making continuous moves towards something can keep you from succeeding.
For instance, in today’s ever-evolving world, if you don’t embrace change or new ideas, it will be hard for you to seize opportunities as they show up.
Life Will Knock You Down But You Have to Get Back Up and Win Big
In wrestling, your opponent may wrestle you down to the bottom position. But do you just lie down and watch them as they crush you and pin you down? Of course, you have to get up and break free so that you can get to a neutral standing position and pursue a takedown position on your opponent.
Similarly, in life, situations will put you down, you will be demotivated, lack the strength or zeal to pursue your goals. You will fail, get discouraged or face a ton of set back. But the last mistake you want to make is to stay helpless and hopeless. To succeed, you need to get up and face challenges head-on. If you allow even a small challenge to hold you back, you may not be able to get up again.
This is also true when you fail an assignment. To improve your future grades, you can’t sit there waiting. You have to seek help either by finding a good assignment writing service or joining study groups with other students.
Passion Beats Strength
To win against your opponent in a wrestling competition, you not only need the strength, perfect combat tactics, and muscles. You also need to be passionate about the sport.
Most of the greatest wrestlers including Triple H, The Undertaker, John Cena, and others achieved great success because they loved what they were doing.
In life, you have to discover your passion. This involves determining the things that you love doing then going for them.
Final Thought
The reality is that there are many life lessons students can learn from wrestling. Endurance, perseverance, not giving up, changing tactics are all great lessons you can learn from wrestling that can help you a lot in what you pursue in life as a student.
