MJF hints at W. Morrissey taking on Wardlow next week

MJF has heavily hinted at brining W. Morrissey to AEW next week to face Wardlow.

In a backstage segment on last night’s Dynamite, MJF said he was calm because he had a plan for Wardlow and it’s a damn good one. He then called someone on the phone.

“Hey big man, quick question, how do you feel about making six figures for a match,” MJF asked the mystery caller.

Addressing Wardlow, MJF then said, “Next week, you’re going to go up against a man who’s smarter than you, who is stronger than you, and who is taller than you,” he continued. “And you can’t teach that!”

The “you can’t teach that” was part of the entrance intro of Enzo Amore and Big Cass in WWE. W. Morrissey is currently part of Impact Wrestling.

ROH Women’s title unification next week on Dynamite

ROH Women’s champion Deonna Purrazzo is set to make her AEW debut next week on Dynamite as she battles the interim ROH Women’s champion Mercedes Martinez in a title unification match.

Purrazzo was wanted for the April 1 ROH Supercard of Honor but she was already booked on the same night for Impact Wrestling. A compromise was reached between Tony Khan and Scott D’Amore of Impact Wrestling which saw an interim champion crowned on the ROH pay-per-view with the idea of unifying the titles at a later date.

Purrazzo has been champion since the January 9 episode of Impact where she defeated Rok-C for the title. Rok-C went on to sign for WWE and Purrazzo held the ROH and AAA Reina de Reinas titles. She lost the AAA title to Taya Valkyrie at the Impact Rebellion show last week.

The 27-year-old Purrazzo is under a deal with Impact Wrestling.

CM Punk gets AEW World title shot against Hangman at Double or Nothing

CM Punk will get his first AEW World title shot next month as he will be challenging champion Hangman Adam Page in the main event of Double or Nothing in Las Vegas.

Since his return to the ring nine months ago, Punk has not challenged for any title and after a brief stare down last week with Page, AEW made the match official last night, although with hardly any build because Page tested positive for COVID-19 and missed the show.

The match was announced after the opening segment of the show with FTR colliding and Punk on commentary. Following the announcement, Punk hit the ring and cut a promo, saying that come Double or Nothing, win, lose, or draw, Hangman will know he’s been in a fight with him.

Dave Meltzer of the Observer adds that an angle was supposed to be shot to build towards the announcement of the match last night but with Page not being there, several segments had to be re-written.

Double or Nothing will take place from the T-Mobile Arena on Sunday, May 29.

Ladder match for TNT title and FTR collide on Dynamite tonight

It’s going to be another packed two-hour Dynamite tonight on TBS headlined by another ladder match for the TNT title.

Current TNT champ Sammy Guevara puts his title on the line against former champ Scorpio Sky and the last time Guevara was in a ladder match, he regained the TNT title from Cody Rhodes back in January.

A 10-men tag match is also on the card with The Young Bucks, Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish vs The Varsity Blondes, Dante Martin, Brock Anderson and Lee Johnson, Lance Archer battles Wardlow, Hikaru Shida takes on Serena Deeb in a Philly street fight, and FTR face off against each other in a qualifier for the Owen Hart Cup tournament. CM Punk will be on commentary for this match.

Report: WWE to have more stadium shows in 2023

Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast is reporting that WWE will be doing even more stadium shows in 2023, surpassing the eight in store for this year.

“The goal is to make this the new norm. This is a Nick Khan approach when it comes to Premium Live Events,” Zarian wrote, noting that shows don’t have to be full but hosting events in a scalable stadium will lead to much higher revenue and a better look.

By the time 2022 ends, WWE will have completed eight stadium shows. The Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and the two-night WrestleMania have already taken place. Money In The Bank, SummerSlam, the UK show in Cardiff, and another Saudi show will be the other four stadium shows of 2022.

Money In The Bank and SummerSlam will not take place in full stadiums – just like the Rumble – and WWE will scale each location to accommodate to their needs. Rumble had around 40,000 fans while Money In The Bank currently has 16,000 tickets sold and SummerSlam close to 20,000.

Regardless of the final number of attendance, WWE will be making more money from these shows due to an increased number of fans attending. WWE premium live events at regular arenas rarely do over 10,000 in attendance.

Rhythm and Dice: Dash

There is a lot of interest in Dash, a cryptocurrency that has just become popular. This is the first actual digital money, according to many, and if you’ve never heard of it, you’ve come to the correct spot. You’ll discover that many Bitcoin dice sites and casinos accept Dash as payment if you like playing the game.

An Overview of Dash

It is conceivable that Dash will provide capabilities that its predecessors did not since it is a new cryptocurrency (it was first released in 2014). It is doubtful that a central bank will be in charge of managing the money since it is decentralized.

Masternodes: What are they and how do they operate?

A key feature that distinguishes Bitcoin from other cryptocurrencies in terms of operating capability is the master node. Dash’s Governance and Evolution services are built on top of this platform, allowing the firm to provide its customers with four unique tasks at the same time.

With InstantSend, transactions may be completed in the same amount of time as they would be at a traditional brick-and-mortar firm. Because this digital currency does not have a blockchain, it is possible to transmit money via PrivateSend while maintaining complete anonymity in the process. You have a say in how the government and the treasury operate, so you may express your opinions on how things are run. It is possible to do so because digital money is regulated. You may use Evolution to make purchases in the same way as you would with a credit card.

The reward for finding a master node in Dash is a portion of the block reward, which is distributed among the miners. A result of this is that any blocks of poor quality will not be included in the final block collection. You may begin mining as soon as you have completed the download of the application. The building of a normal block takes around two minutes to complete.

When and where can I purchase Dash?

In addition to mining and money exchange, there are several other methods to win in Dash dice games. With this method, you may make money without having to get your hands dirty in the mining process! For one thing, it is simple to find exchange platforms that deal in this specific digital money kind.

Use the Dash while playing dice games

Depending on the game, you may utilize your dice with bitcoin in a variety of ways. Bitcoin dice games are one of the most common ways to make money. Several Bitcoin dice sites are expected to accept this digital money in the future. Playing a game of Dash dice while seeing your money grow is a great way to pass the time.

Your Dash balance may be used for a variety of purposes, including day-to-day transactions and gaming purchases. If you use it, you can rest certain that your transactions are safe and hassle-free, and you may even save both time and money in the process!

Bad Bunny lands Marvel leading role as wrestler El Muerto

Music megastar and occasional WWE Superstar Bad Bunny will be portraying a “super powered wrestler” El Muerto in a new Marvel movie with the same title. The news was announced by Sony Motion Pictures Group president Sanford Panitch during CinemaCon yesterday in Las Vegas.

Bad Bunny will become the first ever Latino actor to headline a live-action Marvel movie.

A huge wrestling fan, Bunny described his role as “amazing” and “incredible” as he loves pro wrestling. “I grew up watching wrestling and I’m a wrestler. I’m a former champion, so this is why I love this character. I think it’s the perfect role to me and it will be epic,” he said.

Known as Juan-Carlos Estrada Sanchez in the comics, El Muerto has his powers handed down by ancestry in the form of a mask, with previous opponents including Spider-Man himself. Bunny will portray an antihero on the verge of inheriting his father’s power.

Bunny has a WrestleMania and a Royal Rumble under his belt already, impressing his peers during training for his Mania match last year where he teamed with Damian Priest to take on The Miz and John Morrison. Bunny wowed the crowed with his moves and got great feedback from fans. He also participated in this year’s Royal Rumble but was eliminated by Brock Lesnar.

Conor McGregor explains why he missed WrestleMania

Google Images Creative Commons License

Fans of combat sports, particularly wrestling, boxing and MMA, had been promised an appearance by former two-weight UFC world champion Conor McGregor at the recent WrestleMania. With many websites and gossip columns suggesting the popular Irishman was headed towards a WWE debut, it was expected that he would sit ringside at WrestleMania with the intention of sizing up the competition. This caused much excitement, but it failed to materialise in the end.

The fighter known simply as “Notorious” was a no show. His absence was felt by followers who had convinced themselves there was something more to it than a former fighter and sports personality taking in one of the biggest nights of the year for wrestling lovers. Conor’s planned attendance had whipped some into a frenzy, but the excitement generated there was nothing compared to the drama that followed his seat lying vacant throughout the night.

McGregor declined the invitation to WrestleMania, but what does that mean for the fighter and his possible future in the sport? That’s a question many have been asking themselves since fight night with a healthy mix of guesses, rumours and gossip. The top Las Vegas betting sites even pushed their odds out on him joining WWE this year, such was the damage done to his reputation by not attending. But what was the story, and why did McGregor fail to show?

What better way to get the news than from the horse’s mouth or, at least, the horse’s Twitter account. Conor took to social media recently to explain why he wasn’t at WrestleMania as promised, and the statement in question raised a few eyebrows. What did he say, and how did fans react? Read on to find out.

Notorious ruffles a few feathers

So, what was the reason McGregor wasn’t at WrestleMania? If you believe the Tweet he sent out in response to the barrage of questions from fans he received on social media, the answer is quite simple. It’s because all wrestlers connected to WWE are afraid of him. A short and sweet answer, something we now expect from Conor, but what the response lacked in word count, it more than made up for in controversy and surprise. It’s fair to say that not everyone agreed with the opinion of the MMA superstar.

The Tweet has since gone viral with more than 50,000 likes and thousands of retweets, sharing it far and wide. The more exposure it got, the more interest it attracted, and the more people chipped in with their opinions, from wrestlers and promoters to managers and fans. If you agree with the thoughts of Conor – even if you don’t think he fully believes them himself – you’ve got to admit the former UFC champion still knows how to make headlines. He’s a promoter’s dream. Even after upsetting just about everyone connected to WWE, including the fighters, it’s fair to say that there’s a lot more interest in Conor signing up at the top wrestling promotion now than there ever was in the past.

The responses to Conor’s statement, as you can imagine, were something of a mixed bag. The mixed martial arts fighter’s fans were supportive as ever but couldn’t hide their disappointment, especially after watching several non-wrestlers compete at WrestleMania. They believe Conor should have been in the ring. Critics of the fighter – who is currently out injured following defeat in his last UFC bout – called McGregor a coward, accusing him of being too scared to share the canvas with giants of the wrestling game. Then we had the WWE fighters who felt like they had been treated with disrespect and weren’t slow in calling it out. Those names were effective with their replies and to the point, with a few big names simply replying, “see you at WrestleMania next year”.

McGregor’s last UFC fight ended in disaster when he was stopped after suffering a broken leg early in the contest. That injury has ruled him out of competing since, so there was never any danger of him being in the ring at this year’s WrestleMania. But the rumours are a move to WWE is the smart choice as his legs are too damaged for MMA, and very few have an interest in seeing him box again.

Money In The Bank 2022 with 17,000 tickets sold at Allegiant Stadium

The Money In The Bank premium live event has an even slower start than SummerSlam and ticket sales for the show which will be held at the Allegiant Stadium aren’t doing great so far.

According to @WrestleTix, WWE moved nearly 17,000 tickets since they went on sale on March 17. Currently, the 70,000-seater stadium is configured to host just over 25,000 fans with only 50% of the stadium to be utilized come show time.

Unlike SummerSlam, most of the floor seats for this show have been sold. Some row two and three seats are still available for $1,800 each. The cheapest tickets are going for just $25 in the 400 level.

This is the first time that WWE will be holding Money In The Bank in a stadium and the second WWE event at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas in less than 12 months. Last August, WWE held SummerSlam at the same location.

WWE will not be having a big set for this show as the entrance will be from under section 120 with a long aisle, basically the same as SummerSlam last year.

FTR question WWE’s renewed interest in having them back

Appearing on Renee Paquette’s The Sessions podcast, the current ROH Tag Team champions FTR questioned WWE’s interest in them and wondered if they really want them back or if they just don’t want AEW to have them.

News came out last week that WWE was interested in bringing back Wheeler and Harwood to the company but Harwood was not sure about the reasoning behind it.

“Do they want us? Or do they want AEW to not have us?” Wheeler wondered. “It’s cool for Cody to do what he’s done, but there’s just so many unknowns there. Would they ever focus on tag team wrestling the way we’ve been able to the last two years?”

Meanwhile, Harwood said that he doesn’t know if the mentality at WWE changed as far as what they want from tag team wrestling. “We’re getting to show everybody what tag team wrestling can be and what our vision of it is,” Harwood said.

Harwood added that they left WWE because they didn’t put a focus on tag team wrestling and they knew there was a ceiling to where they could go. “We wanted to do more, we wanted to be known as the greatest tag team of all time and we had to leave there to do that,” he said.

The duo added that they will not be talking contracts with anyone as long as they’re under a deal with AEW out of respect for Tony Khan. “We have way too much respect for him, and our word means something,” Harwood added.

Smackdown rating for 04/22/2022

Friday Night Smackdown on FOX did 1,952,000 viewers last week, the lowest amount of viewership since July 2, 2021. The show was down 190,000 viewers from the prior week as it faced competition from ESPN and ABC in the NBA Playoffs. Smackdown did a 0.47 in the 18-49, the lowest since July 2 as well, but everything was down due to the NBA and Smackdown actually was #1 on network TV for the night. In overnight numbers, Smackdown had 1,812,000 viewers in the first hour and 1,798,000 viewers in the second hour. (Ratings credit: Showbuzzdaily.com)
