Top WWE wrestlers making bank in 2022

Although important combat focused events like the UFC have risen to the fore in recent decades, alongside other popular mixed martial arts organizations around the globe, the WWE still engages and entertains millions of avid fans around the world.

Often shortened to the WWE trade name, World Wrestling Entertainment has become a massive global entertainment company, branching out into various other areas including sports and the movie business.

Such is the continued fandom and popularity of the WWE, big events like Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania typically attract plenty of wagering interest, now that online bookies offer a broader variety of markets.

We can learn more about online sports betting via the latest Asiabet guides, packed with reviews and information covering the top betting sites around, plus tip and advice from industry experts who know the business.

But who are the professional wrestlers the WWE is backing most right now? Well, according to various insightful sources of information, these are currently the top five stars earning the biggest bucks from the organization.

Brock Lesnar

Combat sports are the lifeblood of Brock Lesnar, who has become a legend in his own lifetime. Indeed, he is the only male athlete ever to hold world heavyweight championships in the NCAA, WWE, and the UFC during his remarkable career.

Known as “The Next Big Thing” when he debuted on TV back in March 2002, the rise of Lesnar practically became unstoppable. By August that year, he became one of the youngest competitors to take the WWE Championship, beating The Rock at SummerSlam.

Over the last 20 years, Lesnar has become one of the most storied participants in the WWE arena, packed with plenty of interesting feuds featuring other top stars. Having just celebrated his 44th birthday, Lesnar is widely expected to earn around $15 million in 2022.

John Cena

To understand just how big a name he has become over the years, all we need to do is look at the John Cena page on IMDB. The site highlights all of his TV and movie appearances, including work as an executive producer, underlining his influence in the ring and on screen.

While the WWE only recognizes titles, although they do acknowledge that wrestling legend Ric Flair held 16 world titles during his illustrious career, which is only matched in the modern era by Cena. Now aged 45, Cena won the WWE Championship 13 times, plus the World Heavyweight Championship 3 times.

Despite being considered something of a part-timer in the WWE these days, thanks to his enduring popularity and marketability, Cena is estimated to earn around $13 million per year at present.

Roman Reigns

If ever there was a professional wrestler who lives up to his name, then look no further than reigning WWE Champion Roman Reigns, having won the title four times during his illustrious career. Inevitably, this also makes Reigns one of the most appealing figures in the WWE.

Billed as a unification bout of sorts, Reigns claimed his fourth WWE Championship during a thrilling Winner Takes All match against Brock Lesnar, which took place at Wrestlemania 38 in April 2022. This also gave claim to Reigns as undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

Undoubtedly the biggest personality in the WWE right now, Reigns certainly pulls the crowds at venues throughout the United States and via pay-per-view events. Tipped to pocket $10 million or more in 2022, he is already one of the biggest earners.

Seth Rollins

Back when Seth Rollins made his impressive debut as a Shield member in 2012, everything pointed at him quickly becoming one of the most popular attractions in the WWE. The organization hasn’t been wrong, insofar as his appeal to fans is concerned.

Rollins has gone on to be considered one of the greatest professional wrestlers of his generation, while the 36-year-old has also headlined numerous major pay-per-view events, appearing in some of the most memorable contests of the last decade.

Keen to ensure that he doesn’t join other promotions, the WWE has happily increased the pay of Rollins consistently year on year. Said to get a basic salary of more than $3 million per year, Rollins could surpass $8 million in 2022, thanks to merchandise and his cut of other revenues.

Big E expecting full recovery, but return to the ring still far away

In an interview with ESPN’s Marc Raimondi, former WWE champion Big E said that doctors told him that he will eventually make a complete recovery from his broken neck but will remain out of action for at least a full year.

Dropped on his head in March after a belly-to-belly suplex gone wrong at ringside, E said that doctors will not give him an answer on when he can return until they evaluate his healing process a year on. He said that his neck needs to be evaluated again at a six-month and nine-month mark.

Big E noted how during recovery, he’s been using a bone stimulator machine, got stem-cell treatment, and is taking calcium supplements. The neck brace is off and is now living pretty much a normal life.

“Honestly, it hasn’t been a dark period. I’m so thankful for all the people who checked in on me and reached out, who have concerns,” Big E said. “I’m not saying I’m perfect. I’m not saying every day is the greatest ever for me. But I really haven’t struggled with that type of stuff.”

He also said that he has no issues with Ridge Holland, who performed the belly-to-belly suplex on him.

“What we do is dangerous, and there are inherent dangers. And to that degree, we all kind of know what we sign up for, and it was unfortunate that it went down that way. But I’m not dead. I’m alive. I’m doing well,” he continued.

Although he cannot compete in the ring, Big E is offering his services to scout talent next month ahead of SummerSlam in Nashville and will be joining Triple H when WWE hosts more than 50 athletes for a two-day tryout.

Logan Paul talks new WWE deal on his show

Discussing his new WWE deal yesterday on his YouTube show ImPaulsive, Logan Paul said he’s been happy with the response he received so far as the announcement went “crazy viral.”

The YouTuber said that three things led him to sign this multi-event deal with WWE – passion, business, and media – and when there’s an opportunity for him to mix all three together, then it’s a no-brainer.

“So, passion, when I did WrestleMania I had so much fun. I just had fun, all my friends had fun. Business, it’s smart, they pay well. WWE is a big organization. And media, it’s a show, it’s great performance and entertainment. So, I’m excited for this journey and I am well aware of how powerful of a launch pad it can be for whatever I want to do in life,” Paul said.

He acknowledged that he’s still unsure if he’s going to be the heel or the babyface in his feud with The Miz and ultimately it all depends on how the fans respond.

Cora Jade turns on Roxanne Perez…one week after winning tag titles!

The NXT Women’s Tag Team champions imploded last night after Cora Jade turned on her partner Roxanne Perez, costing her the NXT Women’s title match in the main event of the show.

When the action spilled to the ringside area, Perez hit the pop rocks on Rose and then slowly pushed her back in the ring. Perez then tried to follow but Jade, who was next to Perez, removed her title from around her waist and smashed it on Roxanne’s back.

Back in the ring, Rose hit a running knee, knocking out Perez and covered her to retain the title.

After the match, Jade continued to attack Perez, calling her selfish and then smashed the skateboard across her back.

The duo won the titles last week on the Great American Bash episode of NXT, beating Toxic Attraction.

Chiropractic care to help wrestler performance

As a wrestler, once you reach a certain level of skill, the gains you can get from more practice and competition become incremental.

At the elite level, 10 more hours of practice aren’t going to have as big of an impact, as they would for someone who is only practicing one to two hours.

At this level, you need to look outside of wrestling for ways to improve your wrestling performance and get a competitive edge.

One of the ways you can do that is with regular chiropractic care.

Throughout this article, you will learn six significant ways that chiropractic care can help you with your wrestling performance.

Helps With Pain In Multiple Areas

A common misconception about chiropractors is that they only work on the back and spine.

Though it is true that the spine is a major focus for a lot of chiropractic work, chiropractors are well trained, equipped, and experienced to consult and consider pain and issues in other parts of the body.

So, regardless of the type of pain you are experiencing for the type of injury you are trying to manage, a chiropractor is worth considering, even if it is not strictly a spine-related issue.

Having said that, you would be surprised by the extent to which a lot of other issues which seem to be unrelated to the spine and/or back, actually do have a causal relationship stemming from an issue with the spine.

Pain Reduction

Living with pain is just part of life when you are a wrestler. From the grueling training that you put yourself through to the pounding competitions, your body is constantly feeling the impact of being pushed to the limit.

An unknown benefit of chiropractic care is that it can massively reduce the amount of pain you are experiencing both acutely and chronically.

A lot of the pain people experience is caused by poorly aligned vertebrae and other biomechanical issues throughout the body.

Though pain relief medication can assist with managing the symptoms of this poor alignment (the pain you experience), it does nothing to address the underlying cause.

The spinal manipulation and treatments offered by chiropractors are very effective at addressing the cause of the issue, not just the symptom, contributing to effective and enduring pain reduction and relief.

Improves Joint Mobility

The improvements to joint mobility that can be experienced with regular chiropractic care have multiple benefits and provide multiple advantages for a competitive wrestler.

The improved mobility opens up a new suite of moves that you can implement, as well as enhancing your ability to execute your existing moves.

It only takes a small improvement in mobility to see a big impact.

Mobility is improved as a direct result of the spinal manipulation and treatment you receive as well as the exercises you are prescribed.

This treatment and the exercises target those parts of your body that have lost mobility as a result of poor alignment and neglect and restore them to the previous level of functioning.

Reflex Enhancement

Reflex enhancements are another surprising benefit of regular chiropractic care as provided by Ideal Healh & Wellness Center.

Chiropractic care resets the somatosensory system and unlocks presynaptic inhibition to enhance the responsiveness of your reflexes.

Executing your wrestling moves a fraction of a second quicker than your opponent can be the difference between winning and losing.

So the fact that this is an indirect benefit from a treatment you will most likely be pursuing for pain management is a bonus.

Decrease Inflammation

The battle against inflammation can be quite stressful when you are working around the clock to try and help your body recover from previous training and tournaments, while also preparing for the upcoming training and competitions.

Chiropractic care is well known to reduce inflammation which has compounding positive effects on all aspects of your wrestling recovery and subsequent preparation.

When the spine is correctly aligned, it assists with your overall nerve function and biomechanics.

When these systems are working well, it stops the production of neuropeptides, which contributes to a reduction in inflammation.

Improves Cognitive Ability

As well as the multiple benefits we have already discussed for your body, chiropractic care also has a reputation for improving cognitive ability.

As a competitive wrestler, this improved ability will set you up to better perceive and process the moves and tactics of your wrestling opponents, as well as be sharper in your own calculations and tactic execution.

Research has shown spinal adjustment can improve cognitive function in the prefrontal cortex by up to 20%. The impact this could have on your wrestling performance cannot be understated.

Conclusion

In this article, we highlighted six different ways that chiropractic care positively contributes to wrestler performance.

Though most people think about going to a chiropractor when they have a bad back, the truth is they can help with so many more things and have a positive impact on so many other aspects of your wellbeing that will give you a competitive edge as a wrestler.

If you are not seeing a chiropractor yet, you definitely should be.

A follow-up cryptic video aired on Monday Night Raw last night and it continued to confirm that the video is likely for the return of Edge.

The new video had Mick Foley’s flannel shirt on fire, throwback to their WrestleMania match, an RKO t-shirt, and a burned John Cena hat. These are all individuals who Edge had big feuds with over the years.

Jordynne Grace’s Chris Benoit comments spark backlash

Impact Knockouts champion Jordynne Grace ruffled some feathers last week with a tweet about Chris Benoit which angered fans and close friends of The Canadian Crippler.

In a few tweets, Grace said that she knows her tweet will make people mad but was still going ahead with it. “I don’t think Chris Benoit could 100% hang with most of the present-day best wrestlers. He would not be able to remember matches,” she wrote.

After a barrage of negative comments in the replies, Grace said that people should never defend Chris Benoit. “Dude lost that right when he gave his 7 year old Xanax and strangled him while he was already unconscious,” she wrote. “Also may he burn in hell, Amen.”

But people like Chris Jericho, Chavo Guerrero, and Benoit’s son David, did not appreciate the comments and reached out privately to Grace.

Grace admitted that her tweet was irresponsible and unnecessary and regardless of her opinion, she should have known better that what she wrote would impact those friends and family close to Benoit.

She said that David, Chavo, and Chris, are supporting her in the decision to partner and fundraise with the Concussion Legacy Foundation, previously known as Sports Legacy Institute, and pledged $5,000, with the overall campaign being $20,000.

“I’m acutely aware that the damage has been done. I would never intentionally add onto the suffering of those already dealing with such a traumatic event, and I am sorry for my insensitivity and aggravating this already delicate topic,” she wrote.

The campaign can be found at https://www.classy.org/fundraiser/3997760.
