Four-way match for ROH World title announced for Full Gear 2022

As Ring of Honor continues to be heavily featured on AEW programming, a big four-way match for the ROH World title was announced for Full Gear.

Current champion Chris Jericho will be defending his title against Sammy Guevara, Claudio Castagnoli, and Bryan Danielson on the pay-per-view. The match was made official last night on the live Rampage with both Castagnoli and Danielson pleading their case why they should get the next title shot and Jericho, who said he doesn’t believe his opponents like each other, offered to take them both on…until he volunteered Guevara in the match.

Jericho said that after he and Sammy take out the Blackpool Combat Club members, “Guevara will ‘do the right thing, right lil buddy?'”

This is the fourth match announced for the show so far. Full Gear takes place on November 19 from Newark, New Jersey.

Sasha Banks teases “something f*cking crazy coming”

In a post on social media, Sasha Banks has teased that something “f*cking crazy” is coming, something that she’s been looking forward to for the past six months.

Six months is the exact time she’s walked out of WWE back in May and while the rumors are that she’s still under a WWE deal and her return was “close,” Banks never did appear on WWE television again since then.

“As time passes, there’s been so much growth, and there’s been so much beautiful opportunity, and a journey that I’ve been loving. But as the time also goes on, the date is coming that I’ve been waiting for, for the past six months, and I can’t wait,” Banks said in a video posted on her Instagram Story.

“But I’m really gonna make most of this November to make all my dreams happen in preparation for this date that I’ve been waiting for. I’m very excited, and I hope you guys come along for this journey, which I know a lot of you have been with me for so long, so thank you.”

She concluded with, “But I just want to let you know there’s going to be something so f*cking crazy coming.”

While not appearing on WWE television, Banks has kept busy, modeling, appearing at movie premieres, touring the world, and doing all kinds of non-WWE stuff.

Rampage TV report for 11/04/2022

Arena: Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall

City: New Jersey

Last Week’s Rating: 378,000 overall; 0.12 in 18-49 demo

Coming off a poor Dynamite, it’s Friday Night, and you know what that means…  it’s time for our Rampage Review!

….

The show kicked off with Mike Tyson’s entrance.  Be interesting to see how long he stays on comms. and whether there’s any sort of angle.

Orange Cassidy vs Katsuyori Shibata, All-Atlantic Title

Backstory: Shibata saved Cassidy from an attack at Forbidden Door, showed up again Wednesday to claim this match

So apparently this one came about because Shibata legitimately requested two AEW opponents.  One is obviously Cassidy; the other?  Bryan Danielson.

It’s also worth noting that despite an Excalibur voiceover stating that he’d overcome his injuries, New Japan will not clear Shibata to wrestle, allowing him precisely one match in the 5 ½ years since collapsing after injuring his head and brain in a match against Kazuchika Okada.

Meaning this one is questionable in a number of ways.  Primarily for reasons of health but also the likelihood of him losing only his second match in half a decade on two days’ notice.

Shibata wasted no time, right into a headlock, Cassidy’s hands still in his pockets, takedown, Cassidy viced the head, Shibata cartwheeled out.  Then was sent to the apron and the outside, where Orange launched a dive which didn’t quite land.  The import then hauled him around ringside, introducing him to several of the ringside barricades before heading inside, breaking the count with his pose.

Back outside, caught up in an exchange of forearms, both were nearly counted out, just making it back in as the break beckoned.

Whatever else Mike Tyson is, he’s enthusiastic and some of his commentary’s actually good – pointing out who the better striker is etc.

Down in the corner as we returned, Shibata was struck with a running dropkick before Cassidy launched the kicks.  Fighting his way up, Shibata dropped Orange with a heel trip.  Before launching kicks of his own, though the last one had a little more sizzle on it than Cassidy’s tend to.  Who responded by mimicking Shibata’s pose.  After which the import paintbrushed him, forcing him to the corner, flurry of strikes, running dropkick, suplex, count of two.

‘I just don’t want Cassidy to get beat’ was Tyson’s input at this juncture.

After slipping out of a belly to back, the champ dropped Shibata with a backdrop driver, the import popping right back up, right back into a belly to belly, Cassidy again slipped out, both popping up to drop each other with shots to the mush.  As Tyson chanted ‘Cassidy, Cassidy, Cassidy…’

Up first, Orange launched a pair of PKs.  A third.  No dice.  Shibata right back up to hit an Orange Punch, into an abdominal stretch, transitioning into a flying octopus hold.  Cassidy got the ropes.  Then struck with a Stundog Millionaire, before losing the elbow pad.  Shibata snatched him up for a dvd and was looking for another when Orange hit another sloppy-looking Stundog, then a flying headscissors, right into Beach Break.  Shibata kicked out at 2.

Back to their feet, Cassidy setup the Orange Punch, landing it flush.  Shibata barely budged as he paused to fix his jaw, Cassidy’s eyes wide as Shibata finally landed the belly to back, looking for the PK, Orange popped up for a second Orange Punch and the victory.

A post-match handshake saw the champion again place his sunglasses on Shibata, as he did at Forbidden Door.

He looked a little rusty at times, but you could see exactly why Shibata wanted to face Orange.  You can work a match without having to do too much, which they largely did.  Could’ve done without the backdrop driver but it was otherwise very safe.

WINNER: Orange Cassidy

Lexi Nair with Toni Storm.  Eventually, Jamie Hayter’s going to have to take responsibility for her decisions, just like Toni’s going to be responsible for what she does to her at Full Gear.  They should’ve at least had some confetti drop and stuff for the fact that someone got through an interview uninterrupted.

Then with Claudio, Danielson and Regal.  Lexi’s question: ‘What exactly are your problems with Chris Jericho?’.  Are you f****** kidding?  They’ve been feuding for nine months!  Claudio’s pronunciation of ‘Ian Riccaboni’ was wonderful.  Which is what he draws the line at: the attacking of non-wrestlers.  While for Danielson, ‘Rampage isn’t long enough’ (agree to disagree) for why he hates Jericho.  Begging for one more match, he promised to defeat Jericho and stomp his head in.

Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter vs Skye Blue & Madison Rayne

Backstory: Britt & Jamie wanted to wrestle, not talk

Tyson left after the first match.  No angle.  Clearly just to help the very poor local ticket sales.

Commentators openly wondered what Hayter’s title shot would do to the relationship between she and Britt as the babyfaces were quickly on top, Blue avoiding a shot in the corner, off the top with a diving cross body until Hayter dropped her throat-first across the ropes.

A thrust kick from Blue brought brief respite as Baker came in, a very slow looking ‘roundhouse’ allowed the tag to Rayne, who got a quick two on Britt.  A cutter brought Hayter in to drop Rayne across the knee.  Swinging neckbreaker from Baker broken up at two by Blue.

Crowd deceased at this point.

Double thrustkicks from the heels knocked Blue off the apron.  Rayne fought off both until being blasted with the Ripcord Lariat for the win.  The difference between the dainty lariat Rayne attempted and the one she was hit with for the win is the difference between good and bad women’s wrestling.

Post-match, Britt provoked Storm, who beelined to the ring, laying out Rebel and Baker before brawling wildly with Hayter, locking her in a cloverleaf, Hayter tapping furiously until Britt blasted Storm with the belt, ending by handing it to Jamie.

That brawl was good enough you could’ve ended with it.  And should’ve.

WINNER: Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter

Footage aired from Dynamite of Jericho threatening to ‘whip Lamar Jackson’s ass’.  And Jackson’s response, which was basically that it was fun.  Jericho – with Schiavone & Sammy Guevara – thought about offering to face both Danielson and Claudio, because he didn’t believe they really liked each other.  But thought that’d be unfair.  So he’s going to include Sammy because after they take out the faces, Guevara will ‘do the right thing, right lil buddy?’

Hasn’t Sammy just joined the JAS?

Ricky Starks promo

Starks acknowledged that the crowd organically liked him and were asking where he’d been.  He’s entering himself in the Eliminator Tournament.  ‘Things are crumbling around here… I’m the guy who’s gonna hold things up!’  Vowed to end the tournament as the new number one contender.  Short, good without being his best work.  This crowd is clearly really small since they seemed to be behind Ricky and it was still hard to hear them.

…..

Sammy back with Tony.  Claimed he took Danielson to the limit a couple weeks back.  So he wants a rematch on Dynamite.  Two out of three falls.  Or in layman’s terms – let a guy get one pinfall over Danielson before eventually losing.  No-one can accuse the vet of being selfish, that’s for sure.

WarJoe vs the Gates of Agony

Backstory: The Embassy beatdown WarJoe last Friday

A struggling ‘Wardlow’ chant quickly died out among an ice-cold crowd as he and Bishop Khan went at it.  Tag to Joe, who flung a downed Khan across for the tag to Toa Leona.  Who’s enormous.

Snapping jabs backed the big guy to the corner, Joe finally waking the crowd with a great flurry. Running shoulder, turn around into the enziguri, Joe well on top until being distracted and bitten by Leona.

It seems Wardlow is either turning or is ‘rattled’ by Will Hobbs.  He interrupted Joe during the pre-match promo and the commentators kept mentioning his demeanor during the match.

Returning to just a couple minutes tv time, Joe was fighting to his feet as the fans chanted his name, snatching and drilling Khan in an STO out of the corner.  Finally allowing the tag.

Wardlow launched a series of German suplexes, using momentum off the ropes to drop the bigger Leona.  Spinebuster to Khan for two, Leona with the save but dragged out into the Kokina Clutch, leaving Wardlow to be distracted by Nana, rolled up for two but then land a headbutt, into powerbomb number one.  Three more and we had our winner.

This match really highlighted the damage done to Wardlow.  Joe was way more popular with the crowd, who only really cared for Wardlow’s finish.

Will Hobbs hit the ramp post-match, Wardlow barged Joe out of the way to jaw at him.  That’s four concurrent infighting storylines (SioG, BCC, Sammy/Jericho & these two).

WINNER: WarJoe

…..

Next Dynamite:

  • Swerve in our Glory & the Gunn Club vs FTR & the Acclaimed
  • Sammy Guevara vs Bryan Danielson, Two out of three falls
  • Eddie Kingston vs Ethan Page, Eliminator 1st Round
  • Moxley to speak
  • Britt Baker & Saraya face to face w Schiavone
  • Jamie Hayter vs Skye Blue

Next Rampage:

  • Bandido vs Rush, Eliminator 1st Round (now that’s something to tune in for)
  • Lance Archer vs Ricky Starks, ‘’
  • Brian Cage vs Dante Martin, ‘’

Added to Full Gear:

  • Chris Jericho vs Sammy Guevara vs Bryan Danielson vs Claudio Castagnoli, ROH Title

…..

Overall impressions

Maybe it’s because expectations are so low at this point.  But this was a perfectly watchable hour of tv.  There wasn’t anything spectacular, and a dead crowd didn’t help.  But, reservations aside, it was interesting seeing Shibata, Tyson on commentary was at least a change of pace, and three matches instead of four, allowing a brief in-ring promo segment, seems the way to go heading forward.  Plus, all three of next week’s announced matches have some stakes.

Check Out

  • Nothing

Thanks for reading.  Have a great weekend!

5 reasons horse betting is similar to betting on wrestling

If you are a fan of betting on wrestling, horse racing may be the next sport for you to try your hand at. Just like with wrestling, many factors come into play when betting on horses, from the jockey to the track conditions. Here are five reasons why horse betting can be just as exciting as betting on wrestling.

Both Can Be Bet on Online

The first reason why horse betting is similar to betting on wrestling is the fact that both of these sports can be bet online. While it is true that these sports can be a bit physical, for example, if you were to go to a horse racing track or a wrestling match, this would be done for the experience, and the benefits of betting online are more significant.

For example, because both of these sports can be bet on online, don’t need to leave their houses and can bet from the comfort of their homes. In addition to this, it also means that bettors have access to a wide range of different races and wrestling matches at the same time.

Research Is Very Important

The next reason on this list as to why or how submitting is similar to betting on wrestling is because, in both forms of betting, research is incredibly important. For example, if you were going to bet on Cheltenham’s final day, you would need to do as much research as possible about the race in question. This means you would need to research who the favorites are, what the trainers say about their horses, etc. These are similar factors you’d need to research for a wrestler.

In addition to that, other similar factors need to be researched, for example, how much training was done, who the coaches are, who the trainers are, what competitors both do well against and more. One might argue that there is slightly more research that needs to be done in terms of horse betting, however, if you already do quite a bit of research when betting on wrestling, this will feel second nature.

They’re Both Fun Activities

Perhaps one of the simpler reasons why horse betting is similar to wrestling is the fact that they are both really fun activities. When it comes to horse betting, it is a great activity for not only friends but also for the family. There is nothing more exciting than watching your favorite horse race down the track. Not sure if they are going to win whilst spending the day with your family.

The same can be said for wrestling. Wrestling is already an incredibly popular sport, and for many, it is a very fun thing to watch, especially for kids. In other words, not only does betting on horse racing or wrestling provide you with excitement and the opportunity to win some extra cash, but watching the sports themselves is great fun too.

There Are Many Events

One of the things that make horse betting so exciting is the fact that there are so many races and events that horse bettors can participate in. For example, current statistics estimate that there are around 10,000 horse races that are running each year, which means that even if a horse bettor were to bet on one race every day, they still would not be able to come close to betting on all of them.

In terms of wrestling, hundreds of matches take place each year, which means that bettors who enjoy betting on wrestling will also have a tough time getting through all of the matches.

There Are Many Types of Bets

Finally, the last reason why horse betting is similar to betting on wrestling is that with both forms of betting, there are many types of bets that can be made. For example, when it comes to betting on horses, you don’t simply bet on which horse is going to win. You can also bet on which horses will take first, second, third place, and so on.

When it comes to the types of bets that can be made in wrestling, there are the near fall, the retained title, and, of course, the match win. Because both types of sports allow for a wide variety of betting options, this makes them quite similar.

Logan Paul gets his bloodline as backup for Crown Jewel: Jake Paul

Jake Paul, fresh off his boxing win against UFC legend “Spiderman” Anderson Silva, is in Saudi Arabia and will be in his brother’s corner for his match against Roman Reigns tomorrow at Crown Jewel.

Jake appeared at the WWE press conference held today in Riyadh to promote tomorrow’s show.

“As smart as you are, and as great as you are, I think there’s one thing you forgot about me. The Tribal Chief ain’t the only one with the Bloodline,” Paul said.

As Michael Cole questioned if Paul got some backup with him, Logan said that the word backup is an understatement, and introduced his undefeated boxer brother, Jake.

“My brother will do the unthinkable and defeat Roman Reigns,” Jake said, as he reminded Paul Heyman that he “exterminated the spider” and that’s what his brother will do tomorrow.

Heyman then took over and introduced the Bloodline himself, as Jey, Jimmy, and Solo came out. Sami Zayn is not in Saudi Arabia and never attended any of these shows.

The fans chanted “We want Sami” but after cheering for Logan, Reigns got the mic and told the crowd that they didn’t deserve Sami after what they did today.

Q3 2022 WWE premium live events see jump in viewership on Peacock

The July, August, and September premium live events on Peacock had a big increase in viewership compared to the previous year, with the regime change showing no signs of suffering from the departure of Vince McMahon.

The Money In The Bank show, originally scheduled to be held from the Allegiant Stadium but then moved to the much smaller MGM Grand Garden Arena, had a 17% increase in viewership compared to the 2021 edition. SummerSlam, the first event under the new regime, had a 20% increase in viewership over SummerSlam 2021 while Extreme Rules, helped by the White Rabbit storyline and the arrival of Bray Wyatt, had an even bigger 36% increase.

Meanwhile, the Clash at the Castle show from Cardiff was touted as the most-watched international event in WWE history.

WWE Board of Directors investigation on Vince McMahon concluded

The WWE Board of Directors investigation on Vince McMahon and the alleged hush money case has been concluded. The news was part of the press release issued yesterday to announce WWE’s Q3 2022 financial results.

The dent in operating income, which was down 8% year-over-year, was partly blamed on the expenses to cover the cost of the Special Committee investigation into McMahon.

“For the three and nine-month periods ended September 30, 2022, the Company’s consolidated pre-tax results include the impact of $17.7 million and $19.4 million, respectively, associated with certain costs related to the investigation,” the press release said.

The results of the investigation were not revealed and it’s unclear if they ever will be. McMahon is no longer part of WWE’s decision-making, stepping down from all his roles within the company, although he remains the largest shareholder of WWE.

With the investigation complete, the Special Committee has now been disbanded.

NXT rating for 11/01/2022

NXT on USA Network this week drew 670,000 viewers, down 46,000 viewers from the previous week as MLB World Series and NBA left another big dent in WWE viewership. The show did a 0.13 in the 18-49 demo, down 0.02 from last week and placed #22 in the top 50 cable chart for the night. (Ratings credit: Showbuzzdaily.com)

Colt Cabana returns to AEW on Dynamite

A visibly-emotional Colt Cabana was the mystery former ROH champion who took on Chris Jericho on Dynamite last night.

Cabana has not appeared on AEW television in a very long time and the last time he was on TV was at the ROH Death Before Dishonor Zero Hour show on July 23, beating Anthony Henry.

“I returned to national TV last night on @AEW,” wrote Cabana reacting to his appearance. “I love wrestling!”

Cabana’s disappearance from AEW TV was rumored to be attributed to CM Punk’s arrival. The two former best friends are not on speaking terms anymore and were involved in legal fights against each other. AEW President Tony Khan refused the suggestion that Cabana was relegated to ROH because of CM Punk.

But with Punk out of the picture now, Cabana’s return surely cannot be a coincidence as he has not wrestled on Dynamite since the November 24, 2021 episode.

First images of Becky Lynch as Cyndi Lauper in Young Rock emerge

He said that he was at the audition when Becky came in and they were all very impressed at her high level commitment as an actor to become Cyndi Lauper.

“No easy task, but she worked her butt off and went all in – and crushed it.”
