A rematch for the WWE Undisputed Tag Team titles was announced last night on Smackdown with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn defending the titles against The Usos on the April 28 episode which is also night one of the WWE Draft.
Heyman made the announcement of the rematch after the entrances for the main event between Solo Sikoa and Matt Riddle. In an interesting twist, Heyman said Owens and Zayn will lose those titles because the Tribal Chief was losing patience “with the two of you.”
Heyman made that statement while looking at The Usos from the side and a bit further behind while also pointing at Owens and Zayn. The Usos did not see Heyman turning to them when he said that and obviously thought he was addressing their opponents.
The rematch comes after Owens and Zayn defeated The Usos in the main event of night one of WrestleMania 39 at SoFi Stadium in a hard-hitting, emotional match which ended The Usos’ reign of over 600 days as champions.
Cameras are going back to the Hardy compound in Cameron, North Carolina as Matt Hardy is bringing back the fan-favorite cinematic match, this time titled The Firm Deletion.
Hardy challenged The Firm to the match on Rampage last night and it will pit himself, his brother Jeff, Hook, and Isaiah Kassidy against Ethan Page, Stokely Hathaway, Lee Moriarty, and Big Bill.
This is the sixth match being taped inside the Hardy compound with The Final Deletion, Delete or Decay, The Great War, Tag Team Apocalypto, and The Ultimate Deletion all being filmed there previously for Impact Wrestling and WWE.
The concept began in 2016 in a match between Matt and Jeff, featuring a variety of unusual elements, including pre-taped segments, special effects, and certainly a unique setting. Its success paved the way for several other matches being filmed on the same compound.
This year’s WWE Draft will take place on the April 28 episode of Smackdown and will continue on the May 1 episode of Monday Night Raw.
The announcement was made yesterday with a graphic showing that the Draft begins in two weeks after Triple H announced the week before that it would commence “in a few weeks” without specifically giving a date.
Triple H also said that this Draft will “truly change the game” and that all WWE Superstars are eligible to be moved around.
WWE did not hold a Draft last year and the one held the year before only had a few major stars crossing over.
The Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn open tonight’s Smackdown.
Sami brings up the Draft and Kevin says wherever we end up we are still the tag team champions. But sooner rather than later, the Usos are going to come for a rematch.
The Usos and Solo Sikoa come out and trade insults with Sami and Kevin.
Jey then tells Kevin, that eventually Sami is going to stab him in the back like he did his whole family.
The Usos and Solo surround the ring but Riddle comes out and pulls Solo down and a fight begins. Solo and Riddle end up in the ring and Riddle hit Solo with a couple of knees and as Riddle went to the top rope, the Usos pull Solo out of the way.
Adam Pearce is shown talking to a referee and he told him to go find Riddle and Solo tell them they are the main event tonight.
Xavier Woods VS. L.A. Knight
Knight rolls up Woods, but the referee saw he had the tights and would not make the count. Woods then rolled up Knight while he was arguing with the referee and held the tights and got away with it for the three count.
Winner: Xavier Woods
Imperium is talking in the back and Xavier Woods came in playing the trumpet and Gunther told him if he wants his attention he should come to him like a man not a goof and he will fight him. Woods said he is ready.
Sami Zayn is in the back talking to Riddle and tells him he is sorry for being part of the Bloodline at that time. Sami says be careful, but Kevin comes in and says careful? The Bloodline took you out for months go get him.

The Judgement Day then went to the ring and Damian tells Bad Bunny if he puts his hands on his family again he would take him out again. L.W.O. come out.
Damian Priest VS. Santos Escobar
With everyone laid out at ringside, Priest was able to get Escobar in the ring and hit the big slam for the win.

After the match Damian was going to do more damage to Escobar when Rey Mysterio comes out and beats down Dominik.

Solo stops Paul mid rant and says tell the Tribal Chief, I got this.
They show how Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez won the Women’s Tag Team Championship then Liv and Raquel are in the ring with red carpet. Raquel said to Liv thank you for letting me use you as my own personal weapon. They are soon interrupted by Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green. Sonya asked how they are tag team champions when they didn’t beat the actual champions.
Words continued till Liv said we talked to Adam Pearce and you two are going to be our next challengers then they started fighting until Chelsea and Sonya left the ring.
Madcap Moss VS. Shinsuke Nakamura
Nakamura with a flying knee and the Kinshasa for the win.
Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura
After the match Emma told Madcap to attack Nakamura and Nakamura locked Moss in the arm lock.
Karrion Kross and Scarlet are shown and Kross says tick tock. Michael Cole says time maybe up for Nakamura.
Matt Riddle VS. Solo Sikoa
Prior to the match, Paul Heyman announced that in two weeks Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens will defend the tag titles against the Usos and he continued by saying you will lose because the Tribal Chief is losing patients with the two of you and was looking directly at the Usos as he said it and pointing to Owens and Zayn.
As Owens, Zayn and the Usos fight at ringside, Riddle dove off the ropes taking out the Usos, Riddle then goes to the top rope but Solo kicked Riddle out of the air then hit Riddle with the Samoan Spike for the win.
Winner: Solo Sikoa
After the match Solo continued by slamming Riddle on the announce table and then pushing the table over on him.
AEW Rampage tonight comes to us from the Panther Arena in Milwaukee, WI . After last week drawing 503,000 & a 0.17 in the 18-49 demo. The latter’s the best this year.
He’s baaaaaack. Apparently. In June. Honestly, this seems less of a problem when Jeff Hardy’s been forgiven his fifty-sixth infraction. Though the second Punk does a single thing wrong I’d be done with him.

Backstory: Jealous of their friend Cassidy’s title run, the Friends challenged the new IWGP champs
No Jericho on comms this week.
Beretta and Fletcher started us off with a headlock, quick tag to Davis who ran through Beretta via shoulder block. Trent fired back with a nice tornado ddt off Fletcher’s chest as Excalibur listed every NJPW tag champ since time began. Congrats.
Taylor took out both Aussies via glancing plancha then flung a rushing Fletcher into Davis in the corner as Trent bought two via cross body off the top.
Things going well until Fletcher swept Trent’s leg, thrust kick to Chuck, Davis hurled him outside, running both Friends into one another after Trent took his patented surgically-repaired neck bump against the apron.
Sporadic ‘Aussie, Aussie, Aussie’ shouts from the crowd.
A punt/senton combo got just one with a cocky cover; a delayed suplex saw Trent kick out at two as the ads arrived.
Slick combo moves from AO ended with a diving cutter/facebuster for another two. Taylor took out Davis via ringsteps; Trent & Fletcher battled up top until Taylor joined the party for a stacked superplex. A double team chokeslam to Davis followed before the stupid hug.
Who wants to win the titles right?
Very nice doomsday knee-strike from Trent before Fletcher knocked Chuck out via spinning tombstone. The Aussies taking advantage, Davis snatching Trent up from the mat into a piledriver, Taylor wandering back in to eat a clothesline sandwich and Coreolis as the Aussies retained.
Fun opener with some big moves. Crowd into this as the finish came.
Is it possible this is leading to six-man action given Cassidy’s clash with Ospreay last year?

Jarrett kept cheating, Briscoe didn’t like it. Singh walked in a straight line as JR understandably made fun of the name ‘Manscout’. A Froggy Bow got the win.

Emi Sakura vs Taya Valkyrie
Backstory: None
Starting with stiff chops and overhand slaps in the corner, Taya knocked down Emi via shoulder block, lariat in the corner followed by running double-knees. Sakura kicked out at two.
Sakura struggled to overpower the stronger Taya, who broke a full nelson into a lariat for another two. Readying Road to Valhalla, Jade & Leila Grey appeared on the ramp.
The heels made their way to ringside, Sakura taking advantage to crush Valkyrie against the steps via running cross body. A kick, kneestrike, blue thunder bomb brought two for Taya; Sakura fired back with a stiff flurry until being dropped via spear.
Then hauled up into Road to Valhalla for the win.
More disjointed storytelling. Seems it’s still not actually banned.
Leila rushed in to eat another. Jade and Taya threw hands until Leila attacked from behind, leaving her open for Jaded. Emi Sakura must regret choosing wrestling talent over abs.

The pre-match promo tried to position this as Perry vs MJF’s boy until Spears insisted he and MJF weren’t boys anymore.
And has dropped the I’m crazy, honest ‘spooky’ whistling entrance and basically gone back to his Perfect 10 character.
A handshake begat chain-wrestling, ending with a Spears rollup for one. Upping the pace, a dropkick/kip-up saw Jungle Boy throw ten fingers, to some boos. Both enticed the other to chase, ending with Perry hurling Spears to the barricade as Allin & Guevara were shown watching backstage.
Setting Perry atop the buckle, Spears readied a superplex, Perry repeatedly fought him off to launch a cross body. The two wrestled in and out of pins until a Spears pumpkick/big boot caught Perry, who immediately fired back with a pair of thrust kicks then a rebound clothesline.
Both guys down.
Elevated to the apron, Perry threw an enziguri but was dragged in via draping ddt only to kickout at 2.5. Spears sought C4, Perry rolled through for two of his own, popping up into a leaping flatliner for another.
But eating a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, after which Spears went for a magistral which Perry countered into a pin of his own for three.
Jungle Boy needs vastly more-convincing wins than this if he’s to compete for the AEW title.
They put across the parity between the three challenging Pillars, who’re all 2-0 since announcing going after the belt.
Good while it lasted; Spears new/old character a vast improvement on the ‘deranged’ chairman.
Shinsuke Nakamura has not appeared on WWE television since the November 11, 2022 episode of Friday Night Smackdown, losing to Santos Escobar in a Smackdown World Cup first round match.
While the former NXT champion has wrestled multiple times since then at non-televised live events, his TV time was non-existent, but tonight, the King of Strong Style returns on Smackdown on FOX.
Nakamura last wrestled on the January 22 live event from Binghamton, New York but was in Los Angeles for WrestleMania weekend, albeit as a spectator.
He recently had a high-profile match against The Great Muta at NOAH The New Year 2023 show on January 1, defeating the Japanese legend in his farewell match.
Set for tonight’s Smackdown as well is Santos Escobar vs Damian Priest, Xavier Woods vs LA Knight, and Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez will take part in a special championship celebration.

CM Punk’s return to AEW could have a possible date: Wednesday, June 21.
AEW will be presenting live Dynamite and Rampage tapings on that day from the Wintrust Arena in Punk’s hometown of Chicago, Illinois, just a few days before AEW and NJPW team up for the Forbidden Door pay-per-view in Toronto.
News of Punk’s anticipated return have amped up over the last week or so as the former two-time AEW World champion has said that he misses wrestling.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, through his Select service, reported that Punk is ready to work with The Elite and wants a sit-down meeting with the three people he brawled with last September.
A meeting with Chris Jericho, who he criticized in an Instagram post, is also on the books to try to patch things up.
Mickie James was forced to surrender the Impact Knockouts title as she will not be cleared to compete at the Rebellion pay-per-view this weekend.
James’ fate was revealed last night on Impact when she cut a promo in an empty arena in the final segment of the show. James thanked the fans for sticking with her through the Last Rodeo but said it was the best decision for the locker room and the title.
She placed her title and cowboy hat in the middle of the ring and told Deonna Purrazzo and Jordynne Grace that it’s now their time.
James is suffering from broken ribs and shoulder and pec problems and was not going to be cleared in time for the show despite resting for a month. Her injuries kept her off the Sacrifice and Multiverse United shows in March.
She is the second Impact star to surrender her title after Impact World champion Josh Alexander also had to do the same due to his injury.

The King and Queen of the Ring premium live event from Saudi Arabia has been changed to Night of Champions.
Originally announced on March 7, the tournament was supposed to make its return in Jeddah during Memorial Day weekend. The plan was the hold the tournaments on that night as a single event rather than just the finals as they did in 2021.
But as always, things change, and WWE announced yesterday that Night of Champions will be taking place instead. WWE has not used the Night of Champions name since 2015, with the last show headlined by Seth Rollins vs Sting for the WWE title.
Roman Reigns will be celebrating 1,000 days as champion around that time as well which maybe played a part in changing the title of the event.
The status of Mickie James and her involvement in this Sunday’s Rebellion pay-per-view will be revealed tonight on Impact Wrestling on AXS TV.
A rib injury has kept James out of the Sacrifice show and the Multiverse United show at WrestleMania weekend and she was given until Sunday’s show to either defend or surrender the Impact Knockouts title.
“I saw the doctor yesterday,” James tweeted. “New X-rays & the results of my progress are in. Tonight you will all find out the answer. Be sure to tune in to Impact Wrestling.”
If she is cleared to compete, James will defend her title against deonna Purrazzo and Jordynne Grace in a three-way match this Sunday but if she’s not able to wrestle, Purrazzo will take on Grace with the winner being crowned the new Impact Knockouts champion.
Pat McAfee shared a behind-the-scenes video of his WrestleMania Saturday where he was one of the surprise appearances on the show for an impromptu match against The Miz.
McAfee’s day started bright and early and flew to Los Angeles via a private jet. Upon landing and walking to the terminal, McAfee asked if there “are any marks here” that would spoil the surprise.
He said that there were only three people in WWE who knew he was going there and was escorted in an SUV to the SoFi Stadium where under cover he moved to a private bus which had all its windows closed.
McAfee stayed there until it was showtime and his cue to appear in front of the crowd.
“That was awesome, I had so much fun in there,” McAfee said after he returned to his bus following his match. He also had a visitor after the show was over, his good friend and former broadcast colleague Michael Cole.
“I had a feeling, I had a feeling,” Cole told McAfee as the two hugged.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer has refuted Konnan’s suggestion that Kenny Omega has signed a new deal with AEW and said that Omega is still operating on his original deal which was extended by several months due to his injury.
Konnan made the comment while appearing on Nick Hausman’s podcast saying that they wanted Omega for AAA Triplemania but they were unable to do so because he was still negotiating with AEW and wasn’t sure if he was staying.
“I’m assuming,” Konnan said when he asked if he thinks he signed now. “I never really asked him but there are plans for him in the future so I’m thinking he already signed.”
Meltzer said that Omega is under a deal until the end of this year with AEW to make up for the several months he was out injured. While AEW is working hard to sign him and The Young Bucks to new deals, Omega has not put pen to paper yet and the former champion has not pledged his future to the company either.
Losing Omega after Cody Rhodes would be a huge hit to AEW so you can imagine the work being done behind the scenes to secure his services for the next several years.
Omega also is an employee of AEW where he serves as an EVP, similar to that of how Cody Rhodes was and how The Young Bucks are as well.

Vickie Guerrero and her husband Kris Benson have issued a statement through their attorney dismissing Vickie’s daughter Sherilyn’s accusation that she was sexually assaulted by Benson during a cruise in 2020 just before the COVID pandemic.
“Kris and Vickie Benson vehemently deny Sherilyn Guerrero’s recent allegations of sexual assault and abandonment. Ms. Guerrero’s unsubstantiated accusations have caused the Bensons to suffer public ridicule, scorn, derision, and humiliation,” the statement from attorney Reese Campbell of EaDo Law, PLLC said.
“Kris and Vickie fully appreciate the seriousness of allegations of this nature and the need for public support of sexual assault survivors; however, they ask that you withold final judgment on this matter until they have an opportunity to bring Ms. Guerrero and her claims into a court of law where judgment is based on facts and merit,” it continued.
Sherilyn posted a TikTok video exposing her stepfather’s actions, a video which drew a lot of attention and negative publicity towards her mother.
Vickie later issued a statement of her own, now deleted, on Instagram, telling her daughter that she’ll be seeing her in court and after everything will be over, she would no longer be related to her.
Sherilyn’s cousin, Chavo Guerrero, has publicly come out in her defense and said that he’s been silently supporting her since she first revealed to him what happened.

Jeff Hardy returned to AEW last night on Dynamite, coming to the aid of his brother Matt against his fight with The Firm.
A segment during the show saw a brawl erupt between Hardy, Hook, Isaiah Kassidy, and The Firm and at that point Jeff Hardy joined the fray running out with a steel chair in his hand to even the odds. He then delivered a Swanton Bomb on Lee Moriarty with the faces coming out on top.
This is Jeff’s first appearance on AEW television since June of last year after he was arrested and slapped with yet another DUI charge. Hardy was suspended by the company and had to successfully complete treatment and show that he can maintain his sobriety to return.
A no contest plea on the charges was submitted by Hardy earlier this year and the judge sentenced him to the already-served 38 days in jail, suspended his driving license for 10 years, ordered Jeff to pay $4,500 in court fees, and two years probation along with community service.
