Rampage on TNT drew 398,000 viewers, down 36,000 viewers from the prior week which had the parking lot brawl. The show drew a 0.15 rating in 18-49, an uptick of 0.01 from the prior week and the best number since April 14. (Ratings credit: Wrestlenomics)
CM Punk apologizes to Hangman Page over promo after Collision
Multiple insiders are reporting that CM Punk apologized to Hangman Page via a text message over the promo that he made on Saturday night following Collision.
Punk said he figured out why Page is nicknamed Hangman and it’s because the pegs in the toy aisle are full of his action figures because no one wants to buy them.
“He’s a peg warmer unlike me who moves merchandise and pops ratings and sells toys,” Punk continued.
Page was set to be at the Greensboro Coliseum on Saturday to pre-tape something for Dynamite but was told not to go in the building and whatever material had to be filmed had to be done elsewhere.
While Punk is legally bound not to badmouth The Young Bucks or Kenny Omega and vice versa over their involvement in the brawl at All Out, Page is not part of the agreement, allowing Punk to freely take shots at him.
Successful first day for expensive WrestleMania 40 tickets after pre-sale goes live
The first pre-sale for WrestleMania kicked off today on Ticketmaster.com and tickets vanished pretty quickly despite the new ridiculous prices.
Tickets were way more expensive than last year and Ticketmaster fees on top of that did not help the situation. Several fans on social media lamented the fact that they couldn’t get their hands on reasonably-priced tickets before they were very quickly scooped up.
As of press time, the only tickets available in this pre-sale start from $800 and up to $10,000 for ringside. Even tickets in the top decks were going for over $200.
Another pre-sale starts tomorrow at 10AM ET and more seats are expected to open.

The film will be introduced to potential buyers during the Toronto International Film Festival next month.
Rob Van Dam says he had permission from WWE to appear on Dynamite
Rob Van Dam addressed those blasting him for appearing on AEW Dynamite saying he had the blessing of WWE to appear.
The WWE Hall of Famer, whose last appearance on WWE TV was just a few months ago during the draft episode, wrote that fans keep heckling him for doing “WWE wrong” by appearing on AEW.
“I wonder if they would all eat shit if I revealed that I had permission to do it,” RVD wrote on X. “Or would they just move on to puke out the next meaningless bullshit that comes out of their mouths?”
The former WWE and ECW champion took on Jack Perry for the FTW title last week but unfortunately came up short in his quest to win – and retire – the title once owned by his ECW arch rival Taz.
How fans have influenced the evolution of UFC into the global phenomenon it is today

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has come a long way since its inception in 1993. Once a relatively obscure and niche sport, UFC has grown into a global phenomenon with millions of fans worldwide. But how did this transformation occur? The answer is deeply rooted in the passionate support of the fans.
Grassroots Beginnings
In the early years, UFC was a fringe spectacle, often associated with brutality rather than a legitimate sport. However, a small but fervent community of fans saw something unique and compelling in the mix of martial arts disciplines. They were drawn to the pure competition, the clash of styles, and the drama of the Octagon. Through word-of-mouth, online forums, and social gatherings, they spread their enthusiasm for the sport.
Fans as Champions and Critics
As UFC began to gain traction, fans were not just passive observers; they became advocates and sometimes critics of the sport. They demanded changes in rules, pushed for more safety regulations, and sought the legitimization of UFC as a professional sport.
For example, the fans’ vocal support for better judging criteria and the introduction of weight classes helped to shape the UFC into a more regulated and competitive field. These alterations made the sport more appealing to a broader audience, further propelling its growth.
The Role of Social Media
With the rise of social media, fans had a platform to voice their opinions, connect with fighters, and share content. They became influencers, promoting events, creating hype around fights, and engaging in spirited debates. The interaction between fans, fighters, and the UFC organization created a unique and dynamic ecosystem that promoted the sport.
Influence on Fighter Popularity and Matchmaking
Fan support has also directly impacted fighters’ popularity and, by extension, the matchups created by the UFC. Fighters with strong fan backing often find themselves in more significant fights. These bouts, driven by fan interest, not only create exciting narratives but also contribute to the financial success of the events.
Contribution to the Mainstream Acceptance
Fans have been instrumental in pushing UFC into the mainstream spotlight. They’ve helped shape the perception of UFC as a sport that is thrilling to watch and rich in strategy, athleticism, and artistry. Through consistent advocacy and support, fans have helped to legitimize UFC in the eyes of mainstream media and sports enthusiasts, breaking down stereotypes and misconceptions.
Global Expansion
The UFC’s growth is wider than just North America. Fans worldwide have embraced the sport, contributing to its global expansion. Events are now held in various countries, and international fighters have become stars in their own right. The sport’s fans remain the driving force behind the UFC’s success.
Economic Impact
Fans’ financial contributions cannot be overlooked. Through purchasing tickets, pay-per-views, merchandise, and even participating in fantasy leagues, they’ve generated revenue that has fueled the UFC’s growth. This economic support has allowed the organization to invest in production quality, athlete development, and international expansion, further solidifying UFC’s position as a leading player in the sports entertainment industry.
Fan-Driven Innovations and Technologies
The constant demand for enhanced viewer experience from fans has led to technological advancements and innovations within the UFC. High-definition broadcasts, wagering on UFC odds, enhanced analytics, and sophisticated camera angles have made the sport more accessible and engaging.
Virtual reality experiences and interactive platforms allow fans to feel closer to the action. These innovations have enhanced the viewing experience and provided new ways for fans to interact with the sport, further solidifying their connection to UFC.
Building Local Communities and Training Centers
The passion of fans for UFC has transcended beyond mere viewership. Across the globe, local communities and gyms dedicated to mixed martial arts (MMA) have blossomed. These spaces have become breeding grounds for future fighters and areas where fans can immerse themselves in the sport.
UFC has recognized this trend, investing in Performance Institutes and training centers around the world. By fostering local talent and providing state-of-the-art facilities, UFC has created a pathway for aspiring fighters to pursue their dreams. These initiatives were driven in large part by fans’ desire to connect more deeply with the sport and play an active role in its growth.
Conclusion
These additional aspects underscore the multifaceted relationship between fans and the UFC. From driving technological innovation to building local communities and influencing social responsibility, fans have played a pivotal role in shaping the sport in ways that extend beyond the Octagon.
The evolution of UFC into a global phenomenon is a rich tapestry woven with its fans’ passion, loyalty, and influence. Their unwavering support and engagement have fueled a dynamic sport that continues to grow and resonate with audiences worldwide, creating a lasting impact on both the sporting world and society at large.
Piper Niven crashes Chelsea Green’s plans, declares herself as new partner
It looks like Chelsea Green has found her new tag team partner, but not because she chose her!
Green was on the hunt to audition for a new partner after Sonya Deville got injured, leaving her and the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles in limbo.
In a backstage segment on Raw, Green argued with Adam Pearce after Pearce told her that she might have to surrender the titles. In came Piper Niven who grabbed one of the titles from Green and announced herself as Green’s tag team partner.
Green suggested to e-mail her to audition for the role but Niven didn’t want to hear any of it and made herself the new tag team champion and Green’s partner.
The Scot has been absent from WWE television since May.
Steel cage match to settle Becky vs Trish feud
The Becky Lynch vs Trish Stratus match on last night’s Raw ended in a double countout as both Superstars took their action outside the ring and into the crowd and merchandise stands.
Zoey Stark, who was barred from the match, attacked Lynch near the merchandise stand as the storyline between the three looks to be extended, at least for a few more weeks.
Adam Pearce later informed Stratus that she will again wrestle Becky and next time it will be inside a steel cage.
No date was given as to when the match will take place although it’s likely it will be saved for the upcoming Payback premium live event.
Monday Night Raw TV report for 08/14/2023
Arena: Canada Life Centre
City: Winnipeg, MB
The Judgment Day’s Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley are out to the ring first. Damian says tonight Finn Balor is going to handle Cody Rhodes and Finn should be here. Rhea told him not now and Damian said clearly there is an issue in the Judgment Day. JD McDonagh comes out and doesn’t want to disrespect anyone. JD said he has a message from Finn and told them to focus on Cody and Sami Zayn and Rhea said we take orders from no one. Dominik tells JD they got this on lock, and he can go in the back and tell Finn we need to talk.
Sami Zayn comes out and heads straight to JD and they begin to fight. JD tried to crawl in the ring and held his hand out to Priest for help, but they just stood there and watched. As Zayn was distracted, JD grabbed his arm and rammed it into the steel ring post.
JD McDonagh VS. Sami Zayn
Finn Balor comes out and distracts Zayn, but as JD goes for an incredible moonsault, gets hit with Sami’s foot and Sami hits his Helluva Kick and gets the win.
Winner: Sami Zayn
In the back, Adam Pearce is talking with Chelsea Green and she does not want to give up the tag team championships. Chelsea wanted to have auditions for a new partner and Katana Chance and Kiana James come in and challenges Green for when she finds a partner. Imperium is out to the ring next, and a video package is shown of the group. Gunther says he was impressed with Chad Gable last week, but he has achieved more in a year, then Gable has in a year. This leads to Gable coming out and Shushing Gunther. Gable comes to the ring with Otis and Maxine.

Winner: Chad Gable
Gunther then challenged Otis to a match for right now.

Gunther was able to give Otis the powerbomb to get the win.
Winner: Gunther
Gable rushes Gunther at the end of the match and gives him a back suplex.

Next the Bloodline video from the past Friday Smackdown is shown.
Drew McIntyre is interviewed backstage and was asked what’s next for Drew McIntyre and before he could answer, Matt Riddle comes in and has an idea to start a new tag team and asked Drew to be his partner. Drew tells Riddle he will consider the match tonight.
The Viking Raiders VS. Matt Riddle & Drew McIntyre
Drew catches Erik with the Claymore to pick up the win.
Winner: Matt Riddle & Drew McIntyre
Indie Hartwell is getting ready to face Rhea Ripley with Candice LeRae as Raquel Rodriguez walks in and wishes her good luck and says she can’t wait to get her hands on Ripley.
In the back the New Day are talking to Riddle and Drew and they agree to face each other next week.
Rhea Ripley VS. Indie Hartwell

After the match Candice Le$ae attacked Rhea and then Indy joined in and took Ripley down before they left the ring.
Michael Cole interviews Shinsuke Nakamura in the ring and they talk about Seth Rollins on why he attacked Seth last week. Nakamura kept talking in another language and finally Seth Rollins came to the ring. Seth says he isn’t a hard man to find, and he is a fighting champion, and he had a great deal of respect for him and if he wanted a chance at the world championship all he had to do is ask.
Seth says if last week’s ambush was a challenge consider your challenge accepted. Seth tells Nakamura to name the time and the place. Seth tells Nakamura to shake his hand and get out of his ring and let the people sing his song and Nakamura shook his hand and whispered something that had Seth looking bewildered and as Nakamura went to leave, he turned and hit Seth with another Kinshasa Kick.
Byron Saxton interviewed the Miz. And Miz says he may or may not show up on Smackdown and confront LA Knight again.

Up/Down for Dynamite & Collision (Including the latest Punk/Elite drama)
UP
Toni Storm
Rather than becoming depressed about losing her title out of nowhere after a flat reign, Storm decided that her character would instead. Then thought about how. And decided on a high-strung 1930s starlet whose time has passed and can’t come to grips with it.
The character’s interesting, entertaining, different. There’s nothing else like it. And a strong character means it’s easy to think of multiple arcs going forward.
She takes the title at All In, she’s a star once more, how did she ever doubt herself? Loses to Shida, she has a target to take down if she’s to take back the spotlight. Loses to Baker, ditto. Loses to Saraya, her friend stabbed her in the back to steal the role that was rightfully hers.
Jack Perry vs Rob Van Dam
Seems the true key to longevity is weed and yoga. Because the Whole F’n Show was indeed the Whole F’n Show last Wednesday. At least for one night, he didn’t miss a beat. And had the second-best match on AEW tv all week.
Yes the finish sucked; that’s not the guys’ fault.
CMFTR vs House of Black
Another very good Collision main event ending with an angle that made storyline sense. Yes, it was predictable. That’s why it made sense. Not everything has to be a swerve.
Samoa Joe
A lot of us watch wrestling to live vicariously right? It’s why Stone Cold was so popular. Well who wouldn’t want to be Samoa Joe? Swaggering down the ramp to badass music, fans chanting your name, smashing through your opponent then warning the next one with threats that become promises. Cool AF.
MJF & Adam Cole
More excellent comedy from the duo. Particularly Max’ line about Hogan. Along with giving fans what they want in the form of another tag match. Which can simultaneously add spice to their solo encounter via teasing dissension or having one take the brunt of the match and be at a disadvantage.
The JAS Split
The breakup itself was drab. But the Jericho/JAS/Callis tease continues to be interesting (there are Ospreay rumors), has contributed toward Sammy Guevara being cheered and left things open-ended with the Spanish God. He might even rejoin a babyface Jericho to save him from a Callis Family beatdown. Though personally I like his team with Garcia.
An overall effective segment which highlighted the right guys.
The TNT title feud
AEW should treat this as a blueprint for future feuds. It started and was announced well ahead of the show, allowing plenty of time to push it. Has had a mixture of angles, promos and beatdowns without the parties ‘getting at’ one another too often. Is focused on the title itself which both sides dearly want to win/retain. And features a clear heel and babyface. One who earned his shot too. We know when it’s happening, what it’s for and who we’re supposed to route for. Perfect
Also, shoutout to that Cage line about the world’s biggest family reunion on Collision. That was dynamite (NPI).
DOWN
Missing the Point
‘Book the women better’ does not mean randomly shove females into main events. We’re talking about equality of opportunity. Give the women promos, angles and yes, when it calls for it, put their matches in the main event. But don’t simply throw Shida vs Anna Jay there for the same reason you wouldn’t do so with Sammy vs Alex Reynolds.
It also means ensuring a good working environment by dealing with any backstage issues. But then failure to do so does indeed make them equal to the men. Bringing us to…
Same ol’ Punk
On his first night back, CM Punk called the fans he’d ticked off ‘soft’. As in thin-skinned, sensitive. Too easily ‘got to’. He also said fans were welcome to bring signs both pro and anti. Then was so irritated by a sign Saturday saying ‘Hangman Country’ that he cut a scathing post-show promo dismissing Page’s popularity.
Amid reports that AEW had originally planned to have Page cut promos at the same arena only to be forced into a last-minute change of location. And after Ryan Nemeth was flown to another recent Collision only to be told he wasn’t needed and sent home. Purely coincidentally, he’d responded to the above ‘soft’ comment by tweeting that Punk was ‘the softest man alive’.
Per the Torch, main-eventer Punk got in undercard-wrestler Nemeth’s face at the Chicago Dynamite, accusing him of inflaming existing tensions and detracting from the public message that everything was solved. Days after his own ‘counterfeit Bucks’ comment.
Elite allies Matt Hardy & Christopher Daniels have also been turned away from Saturdays after previously being booked. The explanation being that Punk et al felt they’d interfere with the good vibes backstage. That’s a veteran who doesn’t seem to have issues with anybody and a higher-up in talent relations btw.
Yep, AEW’s backstage situation is totally fine. It’s just that Punk likes crossing things off, whether titles or people. While opening old wounds at a time when his focus on promos, matches and the critically acclaimed Saturday show was beginning to settle things down again.
(Seriously, check that Torch report out, there’s a tidbit on Tony Khan that has to be read to be believed.)
50/50 Booking
Possibly the most creatively bankrupt period in WWE history was dominated by the distraction rollup and what came to be termed ‘50/50 booking’:
- Two guys would face off in consecutive weeks, they’d each win once
- One guy would dominate the match, the other would sneak the win
- Everytime ‘name’ wrestlers faced off, there’d be shenanigans to ‘protect’ the loser
So-named because it ensured every wrestler on the roster was on the same plain. None rose above the rest because none won decisively. Thus there were no stars. I’m sure you can each think of a couple matches on AEW tv recently which fit the bill: BCC/Lucha Bros/Best Friends; Perry vs Van Dam par example.
AEW need to address this.
Miro vs Will Hobbs
I’m all for a hoss fight. Just not between wrestlers who appear intermittently and whose character development is stalled and confusing.
The Book of Hobbs stuff that aired late last year/early this went absolutely nowhere. There were a bunch of vignettes, they never paid off in any way. So AEW shouldn’t be surprised that Powerhouse got the ‘WHAT?’ treatment when he brought it up on Collision.
Especially when it seems he’s immediately gone back heel after turning babyface by telling QT to screw off last week.
This isn’t a will he/won’t he the fans are invested in a la Jericho/Callis, MJF/Cole. It’s Can you please tell me whether I’m supposed to cheer or boo because if not I just don’t care enough about this guy to bother.
Hence the silence until the former Rusev made his entrance.
On the subject of whom, having Miro sell even briefly for Aaron Solo and Nick Comoroto does a disservice to one of the most popular babyfaces on the roster. Lastly, both guys really need momentum and a win – which, referring to the above criticism – likely means a convoluted finish which doesn’t serve either going forward.
Lynch vs Stratus headlines Raw tonight in Winnipeg
Monday Night Raw tonight will be headlined by the long-awaited Becky Lynch vs Trish Stratus rematch.
The two were originally penned in for a match at SummerSlam but much to the surprise of everyone, their match was left off and saved for tonight’s Raw broadcast in Winnipeg.
Lynch and Stratus went head-to-head for the first time at Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia a few months ago and Stratus came out with the victory after some help from new arrival Zoey Stark. Stark is barred from ringside for tonight’s match.
No other matches have been announced so far for tonight’s Raw.
Asuka takes on Japanese wrestling media in series of social media posts
Former WWE Women’s champion Asuka wrote a series of posts on X bashing the Japanese wrestling scene and its media, accusing the latter of hating her during her stint there before joining WWE.
“In Japan, everyone was flirting with the media except me,” she said, referring to her former colleagues. “I fought the media alone to take care of my fans. That’s why some of the Japanese media still hate me.”
Asuka said that it’s the reason why she was always a freelancer and has always been anti-Joshi Pro. She added that the STARDOM promotion was created to defeat her and to destroy her personally.
“But they failed to defeat me. I don’t know what happened to them after that because I came to America,” she continued.
The former champ wondered how much the Japanese wrestling media wanted her to fail when she came to the United States but she’s used to it now.
“Now that I am here, I have comrades in arms. Charlotte, Becky, HHH and… I’ve walked alone in the wilderness all my life, and here I have an oasis,” she wrote. “To the Asuka antis, I say, beat me up on the Internet all you want. I grab everything.”
Asuka concluded her series of posts by saying what she wrote was to describe how the scene was before she came to WWE in 2015 so she doesn’t know how it’s going in the present day.
Fellow Japanese star Kairi, who is returning to WWE, has also cited unhappiness in Japan as a reason for leaving again.
All In crosses 80,000 tickets distributed
The AEW All In show at Wembley Stadium has crossed the 80,000 tickets distributed according to the latest count by ticket tracking service @WrestleTix.
The show now has 80,056 tickets out, and while that is not the paid attendance, it’s inching very, very close to the reported actual WrestleMania 32 attendance of around 81,000. WWE announced that over 101,000 fans watched WrestleMania 32 at AT&T Stadium.
Wembley Stadium in London is currently set up for just over 84,000 fans as of now and could expand even more since AEW is not using a large set and going WWE’s route for non-WrestleMania stadium shows for the entrance.
The paid attendance for All In is at nearly 75,000.
Hangman Page turned away from Collision after told to show up for filming
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that “Hangman” Adam Page was told to go to Greensboro on Saturday to do a pre-taped backstage segment which would air on Dynamite but Page was turned away from the Greensboro Coliseum when he arrived.
The story goes that Page was informed that whatever was planned for him to do that night, it had to be done at a different location and not inside the arena where Collision aired from.
Collision is obviously a “CM Punk show” and there’s bad blood between Punk and Page which might have played in the decision to keep Page away from the arena that night.
Punk did take a dig at Hangman after Collision went off the air which did not help things either.
Meltzer also adds that over the past few weeks, several wrestlers who had heat with Punk were not allowed on Collision, including Matt Hardy, Christopher Daniels, and Ryan Nemeth.

In reality, reputable sweepstake casinos operate within the boundaries of the law and offer genuine opportunities to win cash prizes.
The Reality of Winning and Losing in Sweepstake Casinos
It is important to remember that sweepstake casinos, like any other form of gambling, carry an element of risk. While the potential for big wins exists, it is crucial to understand that winning is not guaranteed. Just like in traditional casinos, there will always be winners and losers. It is important to approach sweepstake casinos with a balanced mindset and a clear understanding of the risks involved.
In conclusion, free sweepstake cash casinos offer an exciting and risk-free way to engage in online gambling. The potential for big wins, enhanced gaming skills, and inspiring success stories make these casinos a popular choice among players. By choosing the right casino, understanding the terms and conditions, and utilizing bonuses wisely, you can maximize your benefits from these unique gambling platforms. However, it is essential to approach sweepstake casinos with a realistic understanding of the risks involved. So, why not give it a try? You might just be the next person to strike gold in the world of free sweepstake cash casinos!

Rikishi blames “promoter mistake” for Payback referee advertisement
WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi blamed the promoter of the NinjaXchange Collectible Expo who advertised him for an appearance “before he referees at Payback.”
Rikishi wrote it was a “wrong promoter mistake” to label him with that description and while he’ll be at the August 26 expo in San Diego, the whole refereeing part is not true.
The former WWE Intercontinental and Tag Team champion is rumored to be included in the Bloodline storyline at some point since he’s the father of Jimmy, Jey, and Solo.
