In the full quarter hour viewing figures for NXT vs Dynamite this past Tuesday, the biggest winner was NXT’s opening hour which was the most-watched segment of the night. The second quarter did the most in the 18-49 demographics.
For AEW, Dynamite’s highest point was the first quarter which still did 260,000 viewers less than NXT. Dynamite’s third quarter did the most in 18-49 for them and actually the only quarter that beat NXT in the demo. Dynamite did not win one quarter in terms of viewership.
The biggest gap between the two shows was the overrun where WWE had a swing of 354,000 viewership difference in their favor. In the 18-49 demo, the overrun was also the biggest gap between the two shows with NXT outdrawing AEW by 111,000 viewers.

Oleg Prudius, the man formerly known as WWE Superstar Vladimir Kozlov, appeared on Impact Wrestling yesterday night on AXS TV.
Prudius made his presence felt when he came to aid Dirty Dango and help him in his five-way match which ensured Dango now will enter in the 20th position in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet match at Bound for Glory. Prudius took out Champagne Singh, Eric Young, and Jake Something before Dango pinned Something for the win.
The 54-year-old Ukrainian star worked for WWE between 2006 and 2011 and was last seen on TV earlier this year when he made a cameo appearance with Santino Marella, his former tag team partner in WWE. He also previously did the Russian language commentating for Impact.
AEW President Tony Khan is still not over Dynamite’s defeat to NXT on Tuesday on his birthday and continued to be salty on X.
In a message posted today, Khan said that this week, two active decades-long rating streaks from two great legends were ended.
“With all due respect, until this week’s head-to-head AEW on TBS vs WWE on USA, neither John Cena nor Undertaker had ever been on a WWE show with under 1 million total viewers + under 400k in the demo,” Khan said.
This comes on the heels of NXT beating Dynamite 921,000 to 609,000 viewers on Tuesday night.
Khan also took another shot at Vince McMahon after a user replied that “Vince has the power and influence to take them cheap shots” and that “he’s earned the right to make them,” and called Tony Khan the Temu version of Vince McMahon.
“Yes. Vince has allegedly used his power and influence to shoot a lot of shots,” replied Khan, obviously referring to the many sexcapades Vince had over the years.
TKO CEO Ari Emanuel said “there’s plenty of interest in Raw” while appearing at Bloomberg’s Screentime conference.
After USA Network secured the rights for Smackdown from 2024 from FOX, news came out that NBCUniversal would not be bidding for RAW or NXT, leaving both shows without a new home so far. The news was not welcomed by Wall Street either and TKO stock took a nose dive.
“I know people are like, ‘NBC is out of the mix’ and that’s why it went down. I think there’s three things that happened,” explained Khan. “One, the reason the stock is down is they thought Smackdown was the best package. I saw 40 percent increase which was in line with expectations. Two, the PFL situation. And three, probably Vince, in our deal, wanted to be able to put at any point in time, his stock. He’s 78 years old. He’s been working at this for decades and decades so, I think those three back-to-back issues.”
Emanuel is confident that WWE TV will still get a significant increase and along with UFC and NBA, they are the three big rights up for grabs right now.
He said that no one can undervalue the WWE and UFC because they do not have a season and they’re flexible when it comes to airing on different nights.
“Our fans are loyal, they stick around and they move,” Emanuel continued.
TKO will hold their Q3 2023 financial results on November 7.
Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics is reporting that NXT led Dynamite in seven out of eight quarter head-to-head ratings on Tuesday.
Dynamite managed to win the third quarter between 8:30PM and 8:45PM when they were still going commercial free while NXT had a picture-in-picture ad. Dynamite drew 400,000 viewers in the 18-49 demo that quarter versus the 360,000 viewers NXT pulled.
That quarter featured the conclusion of the Chris Jericho vs Powerhouse Hobbs match, the Cole and Strong skit, and a good bulk of the Fenix vs Cassidy match.
NXT had the six-man tag match between Butch, Holland, and Bate against Gallus and the Lynch/Valkyria video.
After Dynamite went off the air on Tuesday, the AEW locker room emptied to sing happy birthday to Tony Khan, who turned 41 on the day.
A cake was also brought out by one of the production people as the crowd helped in the singing after being encouraged by Justin Roberts to sing happy birthday. The large screen changed to a big “Happy Birthday Tony!” graphic with digital confetti dropping on the other screen.
Khan was appreciative of the gesture and later on X, he thanked everyone who watched the show and said it was one of the best shows AEW has ever done.
“The fans in Kansas City were tremendous, the wrestling was great, and last night was the best birthday that I’ve ever had, thanks to all of you,” he wrote.
Are you an aspiring wrestler looking to take your game to the next level? If so, the journey ahead of you can be long and difficult—but it could also be gratifying with the right approach. Adding a few key elements to your wrestling routine may prove beneficial in both short-term and long-term success. Here are 7 things wrestlers must add to their routine if they hope to reach championship form: from proper nutrition and training strategies through psychological techniques and mental preparation for competition days. Learn how these elements will help position you as a top contender at every meeting.
7 Things Wrestlers Must Add To Their Routine
Wrestlers must develop and maintain certain habits and routines that maximize their performance and minimize the risk of injuries to succeed in this arena and stay on top of their game.
Here are seven things they must add to their routine to excel in this sport:
1. Strength and conditioning exercises
Wrestling is a sport that is not for the faint of heart. The physical demands of grappling and takedowns require significant strength and endurance. Strength and conditioning exercises are critical to a wrestler’s training program. Weightlifting builds muscle mass, ultimately producing more power on the mat. Plyometrics, such as box jumps and lateral bounds, help with explosive movements, essential for quick transitions and explosive takedowns. Running is another critical component of strength and conditioning. Wrestlers must have the endurance to last for multiple rounds without getting winded. By incorporating these exercises into their training regimens, wrestlers can be confident they will be at their best when stepping on the mat.
2. Proper nutrition
Wrestling is a sport that requires not only physical strength but also a high degree of stamina and energy. Proper nutrition is essential for wrestlers to perform at their best. Athletes in this sport must fuel their bodies with nutrient-rich foods that provide sufficient energy for their intensive training sessions and competition. Aside from protein, carbohydrates, and healthy fats, wrestlers should also ensure they get enough vitamins and minerals to boost their overall health and well-being.
3. Mental preparation
Mental preparation is crucial for success on the mat. Wrestlers must develop a pre-match routine that helps them stay calm and focused to perform at their best. Visualization, meditation, and breathing exercises are all practical tools for achieving mental resilience. These techniques can help them visualize their success, clear their minds, and manage their nerves. Therefore, they can approach each match with confidence, resilience, and focus by strengthening their mental game through intentional preparation.
4. Stretching and flexibility
As a wrestler, having strong muscles is important, but so is having flexibility. Believe it or not, the flexibility of your muscles can considerably impact your performance and injury prevention. Your daily routine should incorporate stretching exercises that target all major muscle groups. When you stretch, you are elongating your muscles and increasing your range of motion. This not only can help with your performance, but it can also prevent muscle strains, sprains, and other injuries. So, don’t forget to stretch—it could be the difference between winning and losing a match.
5. Technical training
Technical training in wrestling is a vital aspect of being a successful wrestler. It is not just strength and agility that make a champion wrestler, but also proficiency in various takedowns, pins, and escapes, which involve technical skills. They must attend regular training sessions to continue learning and improving their techniques to be the best. The constant honing of skills and mastering techniques are crucial to performing optimally and staying ahead of the competition. Without technical training, wrestlers will find themselves at a disadvantage in matches. Thus, wrestlers must prioritize and commit themselves to specialized training to succeed in the wrestling world.
6. Injury prevention
Wrestling is an intense and competitive sport that requires physical stamina, strength, and determination. Unfortunately, it also risks severe injuries that can impact a wrestler’s performance and quality of life. To prevent these injuries, they must take the necessary precautions to protect themselves from harm. This includes following a proper warm-up and cool-down routine, ensuring they wear the appropriate protective gear, and maintaining healthy habits such as adequate nutrition and hydration.
7. Consistent sleep schedule
A handful of things are essential for success as a wrestler: proper training, a healthy diet, and a consistent sleep schedule. However, getting enough sleep is the most crucial of all these. After all, you can’t be at your best if you’re feeling sluggish or mentally foggy. That’s why they must prioritize their sleep, ensuring they get enough rest before training and competition. Doing so can provide many benefits, from improved cognitive function to reduced stress levels. And remember that proper sleep can also help speed up the healing and recovery after an injury. Overall, there’s no overstating the importance of a good night’s sleep.
Why Do Wrestlers Need A Planned Routine?
Wrestlers are some of the most physically impressive athletes in the world. To compete at the highest level, they must be mentally and physically in peak condition. Even the slightest mistake in technique or strategy can lead to a crushing defeat. Wrestlers require a well-planned, meticulously executed routine that allows them to focus on their strengths, improve their weaknesses, and maintain the stamina and discipline necessary for success. Moreover, they should also focus on their diet and other consumption habits. For example, a wrestler may switch to a CBD vape instead of traditional smoking. With a routine to guide them, they can easily stay focused and energized and carry their focus during the heat of battle.
Wrapping Up
Wrestlers can improve their performance by incorporating these 7 key elements into their routine, preventing injuries, and ultimately reaching championship form. Remember to stay consistent, listen to your body, and never give up on your dreams of becoming a top contender in wrestling. With the proper routine and mindset, anything is possible.
Composite Effects, LLC, who last year filed a lawsuit against AEW for using the Luchasaurus mask design on merchandise without permission, reached a settlement agreement with AEW, bringing an end to their legal battle.
CFX, the designers of the mask, alleged that they had given permission to Luchasaurus to wear and use the mask in the ring but they did not give any permission for their intellectual property to be used on merchandise.
United States District Judge Darrel James Papillion of the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District in Louisiana published the order of dismissal yesterday, writing that the court has been notified that both parties reached a settlement.
“Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED that this action is dismissed without prejudice to the right, upon good cause shown, to reopen the action or to seek summary judgment enforcing the compromise if settlement is not consummated within sixty days of this order. Each party will bear its own costs,” the document states.
“The Court retains jurisdiction for all purposes, including enforcing the settlement agreement entered into by the parties. The parties are reminded that, if witnesses have been subpoenaed, every witness must be informed by counsel not to appear.”

Dynamite Title Tuesday, airing a day earlier than usual due to MLB coverage, drew 609,000 viewers, down 191,000 viewers from the prior week. The was the least-watched Dynamite of 2023 so far, although unfair to compare to previous shows since it did not air in its usual day. Dynamite retained almost the same 18-49 audience from the previous week with a 0.26 rating, down just 0.02 from the prior show. AEW Dynamite was #7 on the top 50 cable chart for the night. The loaded-up NXT last night with main roster appearances from Cody Rhodes, John Cena, Asuka, Paul Heyman, The Undertaker, LA Knight, and others drew 921,000 viewers, up 64,000 viewers from the prior week. The show also drew 0.30 rating in the 18-49 demo, up 0.08 from the last show and placed #5 on the top 50 cable chart. NXT announcer Vic Joseph announced on X today that yesterday he lost his father, the same day he had to call the biggest NXT on USA Network show ever.
“Yesterday I lost my dad – my earliest memory was watching wrestling with him – he always supported my dreams and did to the end,” Joseph wrote.
Despite the loss in his family, Joseph soldiered on and proceeded to be the voice of NXT on a very important night for the brand.
“Last night was for him – to everyone involved and all of you that watched/interacted – you allowed me to escape for a few hours THANK YOU,” he continued.
The two-night NXT Halloween Havoc will see the return of Shotzi as the host.
The former NXT star showed up in her tank at the beginning of the Asuka vs Roxanne Perez match last night and joined Booker T and Vic Joseph on commentary.
Shotzi then announced that she’s returning as the host of Halloween Havoc following her hosting duties last year and also said that Scarlett will be joining her for some co-host duties.
The duo currently host WWE’s YouTube series Chamber of Horrors where they do some paranormal investigations. Dominik Mysterio, Rhea Ripley, Grayson Waller, Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, and Karrion Kross have so far appeared as guests on their series.
AEW is teaming up with Jazwares and TBS to donate over $1 million worth of AEW toys for the Toys For Tots drive this holiday season.
AEW President Tony Khan said that their 50,000 toy donation is going to be the biggest toy giveaway in wrestling history.
“This Christmas! Coming to Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite: The biggest toy giveaway in pro wrestling history! Over 50,000 @AEW toys donated to Toys for Tots. Over a million dollars in Toys. Thanks to our partners at @Jazwares, @TBSNetwork, and all of you fans who made this possible!”
Jazwares Chief Brand Officer Jeremy Padaware reposted the video announcement from Dynamite and added, “Proud to announce we @Jazwares are donating over $1 million in AEW action figures and toys along with our friends @TonyKhan and @TBSNetwork to @ToysForTots_USA this holiday & Christmas season.”
Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas.
When AEW President Tony Khan said that they were going to get a huge overrun for Dynamite, he was not kidding around!
With both WWE and AEW playing a game of chess to try and one-up each other, it was AEW which had the “last laugh” of the night as NXT wrapped up at 10:09PM while Dynamite kept going on till 10:14PM, their biggest overrun to date.
AEW also went live 30 minutes before the start of the shows on social media with a title match which aired on Facebook, X, and YouTube.
And despite both AEW and WWE saying the first 30 minutes of each show would be commercial free, AEW actually went way longer without a commercial, with their first full commercial and picture-in-picture commercial coming in the final quarter of the first hour.
NXT had a picture-in-picture commercial in the third quarter and two full commercial segments in the last quarter of the first hour.
Competition does indeed bring out the best in everyone!
Monday Night Raw drew 1,556,000 viewers on average this week, up 45,000 viewers from the prior week and the highest they have done since NFL started on September 11.
Raw started with 1,617,000 viewers and then dropped slightly to 1,608,000 viewers in the second hour, followed by a big drop to 1,445,000 viewers in the third hour. Raw had tougher competition with both NFL and MLB games airing on ESPN, ABC, and TBS.
Raw was #7, #8, and #10 in the top 50 cable chart among the 18-49 demo with 0.45, 0.45, and 0.39 ratings respectively for an average of 0.43, down 0.05 from the prior week. (Ratings credit: SpoilerTV)
Brian Pillman Jr was revealed officially last night in a promo which aired during NXT but Pillman explained the reason why he’s now going to get a new name.
The awesome promo showed Pillman saying that while everyone has fond memories of his dad, he doesn’t as he was just four years old when he died. He tried to get away from the business that gave him the most pain but after trying other careers, he just couldn’t escape wrestling.
Pillman said he’s “no one’s junior” and when fans sees him, he wants them to think about him, not his father.
“And from this day forward, I am going to take on the last name of the real man who raised me, the real father figure in my life,” he said. “And his name was King. And now so is mine.”
WWE recently trademarked the name Lexis King, who will be Brian Pillman Jr’s new name. Brian’s sister, Lexi, passed away in a car accident in 2009.
The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and the Men’s Breakout Tournament will be returning to NXT television as announced by Cody Rhodes last night.
Serving as the “boss” just for one night, Rhodes gave the news in the opening segment of NXT and said that the Men’s Breakout Tournament will kick off after the women’s tournament wraps up in a few weeks. No date was given to the start of the Dusty Classic.
The 2022 men’s Dusty Classic was won by The Creed Brothers while the women’s version was won by Io Shirai and Kay Lee Ray.
WWE did not hold the Men’s Breakout Tournament last year but the 2021 version had Carmelo Hayes as the winner.
No participants were announced for any of the two tournaments.
Over the past few decades, the corporate arena has witnessed a growing interest in the Five Factor Approach, despite the existence of various alternative personality models. The Big Five personality test can be taken for free by using the Psyculator website https://psyculator.com/big-five-personality-test/ .
This revolutionary approach suggests that human personality can be distilled into just five fundamental factors: Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism, occasionally referred to as Emotional Stability (Block, 1995, 2001; John & Srivastava, 1999). These broad factors are intricately connected to more specific personality traits known as personality facets. The widely accepted Five Factor Model (FFM; Costa & McCrae, 1992a), commonly known as the Big Five, comprises 30 lower-level personality facets (with six facets corresponding to each broad factor). For instance, Neuroticism is linked to attributes such as anxiety and anger; Conscientiousness evaluates qualities like self-discipline and planning abilities; Agreeableness encompasses traits such as altruism and empathy; Extraversion measures sociability and extroversion, while Openness generally assesses one’s inclination toward embracing new experiences.
Substantial research has affirmed that personality can effectively predict job performance. Consider Conscientiousness, often regarded as the most robust predictor of job performance across various professions. It consistently exhibits predictive correlations in numerous meta-analyses: .18 (Tett, Jackson, & Rothstein, 1991); .22 (Barrick & Mount, 1991); .24 (Hurtz & Donovan, 2000); .26 (Judge, Rodell, Klinger, Simon, & Crawford, 2013).
In simpler terms, Conscientiousness accounts for up to 6.8 percent of the variation in job performance. While this may seem modest, it’s essential to note that after IQ, acknowledged as the most potent predictor of job performance, the Big Five personality factors emerge as the second most influential predictors for job outcomes. Importantly, personality contributes additional predictive value beyond IQ, implying that a portion of job performance attributed to personality cannot be solely attributed to employees’ intellectual capabilities.
What’s even more fascinating is the extensive body of research indicating that personality provides insights into various critical organizational metrics beyond job performance. Numerous meta-analyses have validated the pivotal role of personality in predicting job satisfaction (Judge, Heller, & Mount, 2002), burnout (Alarcon, Eschleman, & Bowling, 2009), absenteeism (Ones, Viswesvaran, & Schmidt, 2003; Salgado, 2002), presenteeism (Johns, 2010; Miraglia, & Johns, 2016), workplace accidents (Clarke & Robertson, 2005; Clarke & Robertson, 2008), organizational commitment (Meyer, Stanley, Herscovitch, & Topolnytsky, 2002), organizational justice (Cohen-Charash & Spector, 2001), and counterproductive workplace behavior (Grijalva & Newman, 2015).
Furthermore, other meta-analytic studies underscore the significance of personality assessments in predicting both positive and negative leadership styles (Bono & Judge, 2004; Eagly, Johannesen-Schmidt, & Van Engen, 2003). In terms of the latter, personality assessments serve as valuable tools for identifying destructive leaders whose actions have adverse effects on organizations. Importantly, a growing body of organizational research has linked destructive leadership to workplace bullying (e.g., Boddy, 2005, 2010, 2015), with a recent study indicating that in a sample of working individuals in the United States, psychopathic and narcissistic leadership styles explained as much as 41 percent and 25 percent of the variance in workplace bullying, and up to 20 percent of the variance in employee depression (Tokarev, Phillips, Hughes, & Irwing, 2017). This bears significant economic costs, with the organizational costs of workplace bullying in the UK alone estimated to range from four to four and a half billion pounds annually, attributed to lost productivity and legal expenses (Rayner, 1997; Sheehan, 1999). In fact, the issue of workplace bullying is so persistent that Einarsen (1999) asserted that “Bullying at work… is a more debilitating and devastating problem for employees than all other work-related stressors combined” (p.2).
Two new champions were crowned at Dynamite Title Tuesday, with Orange Cassidy winning the AEW International title and Hikaru Shida winning the AEW Women’s title.
Rey Fenix was supposed to defend the AEW International title against Jon Moxley but Moxley remains unable to compete due to the concussion he suffered a few weeks ago. In his place came in former champion Orange Cassidy and with Fenix having his own fair share of injuries, the decision was taken to switch the title back to Cassidy.
Cassidy had a 326-day run as champion before losing it to Jon Moxley at All Out. Rey Fenix spent just 20 days as champion before dropping it yesterday.
Also, Saraya’s fairytale comeback with the AEW Women’s title ended quickly after just 44 days and one title defense.
Shida, now the only three-time AEW Women’s champion, had a short reign herself before losing the belt in a four-way match at All In in Wembley Stadium.
