The much talked about Janel Grant lawsuit against former WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon and WWE itself is now moving to private arbitration.
The move, to shift the lawsuit from public to private arbitration, has been long requested by Vince McMahon and WWE and long fought against by Grant and her attorneys.
But last month, something changed and Grant’s legal team eventually agreed to move it from the public eye, continuing to find a resolution away from all the media circus that such cases bring.
“Pursuant to the Court’s July 13, 2026 order, ECF No. 151, Plaintiff Janel Grant, Defendant World Wrestling Entertainment, LLC, and Defendant Vincent K. McMahon (together, the “Parties”) jointly report that the Parties have executed an agreement to arbitrate their dispute,” Grant’s attorney Ann Callis wrote in a Joint Status Report.
“Pursuant to that agreement, within five business days, Plaintiff shall execute and cause to be filed a Stipulation of Voluntary Dismissal with Prejudice causing the action to be dismissed in its entirety, as to both remaining defendants, but without prejudice to the Parties’ rights to pursue their claims and defenses in arbitration.”
Grant’s team have tried to collect other witnesses and alleged victims of McMahon’s to bolster up their fight in court but rather than putting McMahon and WWE in front of a judge, it looks like this case will be settled behind closed doors.
A new match has been added to SummerSlam, pitting mega fan favorite Danhausen taking on AAA Mega champion Dominik Mysterio in a non-title match.
On Raw last night, the Judgment Day faction continued to try and get their money back from Danhausen which led to a JD McDonagh vs Oba Femi match and then a Dom Mysterio vs Joe Hendry match.
Danhausen, along with Iyo Sky, came out during the Mysterio match, with Sky battling Liv Morgan and Danhausen taking out Mysterio, opening the way for Hendry to win the match.
This is the eighth match on the two-night SummerSlam card so far as WWE tries to continue to make the most out of Danhausen’s recent popularity spike.
WWE stars Paige and AJ Lee recently reunited with Nikki and Brie Garcia on SiriusXM’s The Nikki and Brie Show live from Fanatics Fest.
During the interview, Paige & AJ get candid about their emotional comebacks, the Divas Era, finding confidence after time away and why this chapter feels completely different. Paige also discussed her impromptu match with Brie during WrestleMania and revealed her heart wasn’t in AEW.
Paige on her impromptu match with Brie during WrestleMania (13:48-15:58)
Brie Garcia: Paige, for you, when you got that phone call saying, “Can you get booted up in five days to be Brie’s tag partner.”
Nikki Garcia: I mean, that was nuts.
Paige: It was nuts.
Brie Garcia: Yeah. What was that phone call like for you?
Paige: It was crazy because it was Hunter, Triple H, calling me and we were already in talks about potentially doing something maybe, but it was very last second where they’re like, can you come to Mania and take Nikki’s place for a second? You know, and I’m like, “Uh, sure,” so I ended up seeing you in Alabama or wherever.
Brie Garcia: I know. We were like two ships passing in the night in Alabama, which was so random. Which backstory, if you guys don’t know, Paige literally was getting cleared. We were checking her to get cleared. She gets the phone call, and Nikki and I are coming in so Nikki can get surgery on her ankle. I mean, when you say stars align, it was the universe wanting something to happen.
Paige: Oh, yeah. It was definitely the timing and everything was strange in the best way, but yeah, they were like, “All right,” and it was the Monday before Mania, and then I was like, “Okay, well, I’m going to be in Vegas anyway, because I’m going to be doing my podcast and signings and all that kind of stuff,” so I don’t think it will look too strange if I’m around, but everyone was kind of guessing. Everyone was just like, “Oh, Nikki’s hurt. The only person I could potentially replace that would be Paige, right?” So, people were starting to guess, and then the day of Mania, I was supposed to go to a signing, and then the last second, they pulled the signing and got me to go to Mania, and I was like, “Well, that gives it away then,” because I had to cancel the signing, and also, we got so frustrated, you guys, because it leaked the day before.
Brie Garcia: Yeah. I’m so gonna find that stooge.
Paige: I know. I was like, “We can’t have surprises anymore?” It was the most frustrating thing ever and we were just like, “Okay, well, we’ll just make the most of it. People are kind of guessing that I’m gonna be there anyway, but the reaction was just bonkers, dude.
Paige says her heart wasn’t in AEW (20:14-21:32)
Paige: I did go to AEW and you guys, I did have a great time there, but my heart wasn’t in it. I feel like you could see that in my performance when I was in the ring, and my character, and it was just like, I’m a WWE girl, man. I love WWE, so yeah. I went there for a couple of years, and we went our separate ways, and it ended really, really great. I have nothing but love when it comes to AEW and Tony and stuff like that, but yeah. When it comes to WWE, that’s just where I’ve wanted to be forever. I had been there since I was 18 years old. I gave my neck for this company. I grew up here, you guys. I was a kid. I was a baby.
Nikki Garcia: You were such a baby.
Paige: Yeah, and then when it comes to getting the call, I was so excited, but I didn’t have any preparation time for the match at all. It was Monday, and then I had stuff like my managers, he was like, “Oh, we got stuff Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday,” and then we have the main here on Saturday. I didn’t have any time to get in the ring, and then we did have rehearsals, but it was like, I was just coming in at the end of the match. I was like, “Well, thank gosh, I don’t have to do too much,” but then obviously we end up winning the Tag Team Championship.
The Nikki & Brie Show hosted by Nikki & Brie Garcia is available anytime on the SiriusXM app. New episodes every Monday and Thursday. Listen to the full episode here.
Speaking to Jeremy Lambert on his In The Weeds podcast, AEW President Tony Khan explained the reason why Bryan Danielson has not been doing commentary for the past several weeks.
Khan acknowledged that the former AEW champion is “beat up” and in pain, so he’s giving him the time he needs to rest up.
He said that it is a lot for Danielson to be on the road at the moment and when he’s pain-free and able to travel, he will return to his ringside commentary duties.
“But it’s a lot for Bryan being on the road, and a lot of the utility of Bryan stepping away from the ring and resting is him being home with his family and recovering, and trying to be off the road,” Khan explained.
Khan said he thinks that for Danielson, even sitting on a chair and moving around his head in front of the monitor is hard.
“It’s harder than people understand with the injuries he’s had. People don’t realize the toll that this business and this sport has taken on this man. He’s done so much for all of us, so it means the world to have him in AEW and be part of this family, but also, that means now he’s done everything he can in the ring for AEW at this point, and I don’t need to drag him out and beat him up every week even more when he’s hurting,” he continued.
Danielson has not done any commentary since April.
Tickets for SummerSlam have started moving following the massive slash in prices over the weekend.

On both nights, the huge U.S. Bank Stadium is configured for just 31,500 seats, less than half its full capacity.
Tickets for SummerSlam now start from just $45 by using the code JJETS on Ticketmaster.com. A $76 ticket now even gets you floor seats, making this SummerSlam the most-affordable WWE premium live event in recent years.

Kick streamer and YouTuber N3on accidentally filmed WWE Intercontinental champion Penta without his mask while backstage at Fanatics Fest yesterday.
He was told to delete the footage by Penta himself, which he found no issues with, but since it was a live broadcast, it was a bit too late, not to mention that once something hits the Internet, it will never be deleted.
“No camera?” N3on replied after he was told to stop. “I use a mask,” Penta is heard saying, at which point, N3on realized his mistake.
N3on publicly apologized for the mistake, saying it was a misunderstanding, and later in the night appeared at ringside during Saturday Night’s Main Event and acknowledged on television complete with a lower third graphic.
While Penta had no mask, he had the face paint on which still didn’t reveal his full face, but it’s as close to a full face reveal as you can get.
Triple H announced during the SummerSlam Kickoff party at Fanatics Fest that Gunther will be taking on Nick Aldis at SummerSlam.
Both Gunther and Aldis got physical at the event and required several officials to keep them away from each other.
The Smackdown General Manager interfered in last night’s main event match, striking Gunther with the WWE Championship, costing him and Zayn the match. Gunther ended up taking the pin after Punk delivered a GTS immediately following the title shot to the head and Cody covered for the win.
“We’re going to settle this in the ring…at #SummerSlam,” Triple H wrote on X later, adding the poster of the match as well.
The two have been feuding for quite a few weeks now and this will be Aldis’ first match inside a WWE ring – ever. Last week, Gunther choked out Aldis on Smackdown, leaving him unconscious.
The former TNA and NWA champion has not wrestled since October 2023.
AEW’s Triangle of Madness, the team of AEW Women’s champion Thekla, Julia Hart, and Skye Blue, won the Artist of Stardom titles yesterday during the 5 Star Grand Prix tournament.
The win ends Dream Trine’s – the team of Hina, Ami Sohrei, and Lady C – reign after just 53 days.
It was Thekla who got the decisive pinfall victory after Hart spit mist and Blue hit Sohrei with the title, with Thekla finishing her off with a curb stomp.
Thekla continued to taunt Stardom president Taro Okada after the win, telling him that she warned him they had a present for him.
“We’re gonna snatch your grubby Stardom belts and take them all over the world,” Thekla said. “We’re gonna show the world what Stardom is really like, you pathetic assholes!”
While WrestleMania 43 will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia next year, there will still be weekend events held in the United States.
WWE announced yesterday that AAA and NXT shows will follow each night of WrestleMania at the Infosys Theatre at Madison Square Garden. Due to the time difference, Mania will air early in the afternoon in the United States so these shows will air in prime time.
AAA Eternal Glory is rumored to be following WrestleMania Saturday and NXT Stand & Deliver is planned to air after WrestleMania Sunday. A WrestleMania watch party will precede those shows in the same location so fans will be able to watch WrestleMania 43 as well.
With still no official dates for WrestleMania, no further information was released.
WWE is holding a SummerSlam Kickoff party today in New York City at Fanatics Fest, with a live broadcast set to start at 1:30PM ET.
The Kickoff party airs on WWE’s YouTube channel as well as on the rest of the company’s social media properties.
It will be hosted by the voice of WWE, Michael Cole, with several WWE Superstars set to appear. WWE has a huge presence at Fanatics Fest inside the Javits Center, with all the top stars in the city for the fan convention.
SummerSlam 2026 takes place on Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2 live from the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Tickets are available via Ticketmaster.com.
New WWE Women’s Tag Team champions were crowned last night at Saturday Night’s Main Event, with Fatal Influence defeating Brie Bella and Paige for their first gold on the main roster.
This win ends Bella and Paige’s title reign after 91 days, winning them at WrestleMania 42 Saturday. Paige was not even supposed to be part of that match but returned to replace the injured Nikki Bella.
For Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid, this was a quick rise to the top after making their main roster debut following WrestleMania 42. The win did need some assistance from their third member, Jacy Jayne, who eventually pushed Paige into a roll-up, reversing a pin attempt by Paige.
A massive discount for SummerSlam is currently ongoing via Ticketmaster.com using the code JJETS.
The code unlocks tickets starting at just $43.05 for both Saturday and Sunday, and these are not nosebleed seats, but rather seats in the 100 Level. Tickets for $76.10 even gets you a floor seat, making this SummerSlam the most affordable WWE event in recent years.
WWE has struggled big time to move tickets for SummerSlam this year, completely misjudging the market even with main events of Reigns vs Rollins, Femi vs Lesnar in a Hell In A Cell, and Punk vs Rhodes.
It’s unknown how long this sale will go on for but considering the show is just two weeks away, it’s likely to stay around to put some extra butts into seats.
The U.S. Bank Stadium is a massive place and WWE had only around 22,000 tickets each day sold prior to the sale.
A couple of NBA stars helped with Saturday Night’s Main Event last night at Madison Square Garden, including two from the title-winning New York Knicks.
The first one to leave his mark was Karl-Anthony Towns, who came out from Danhausen’s cloning machine to a big pop from the NY crowd.
KAT assisted Danhausen in the No Disqualification match, chokeslamming JD McDonagh and then hitting another picture-perfect chokeslam on Dom Mysterio through a table. After Danhausen won the match against JD with the Triple D, the two celebrated in the ring much to delight of the fans.
Later in the main event of the show, Jalen Brunson of the Knicks came out with Roman Reigns so Madison Square Garden could acknowledge both of them. Reigns presented Brunson with a customized WWE World Heavyweight title belt replica and after the crowd acknowledged them, Seth Rollins’ theme song interrupted the festivities.
But Rollins didn’t come out, it was the Knicks’ arch nemesis, Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers, who stepped out from Gorilla with a chair in hand. Haliburton and Brunson have some history on the court and in WWE as the two had a confrontation a few years ago on WWE TV.
Rollins did eventually come out through the stands to beat up on Reigns. He tried to curb stomp Reigns on a chair, but the Knicks star prevented that, allowing Reigns enough time toe recover and get the upper hand on Rollins with a Superman punch and spear. Both heels then got the hell outta dodge while Reigns and Brunson celebrated with the NBA Championship trophy and the WWE titles.
The Allstate Arena, which is hosting the premium live event, is advertising Worlds Collide at 7:30PM, meaning an 8PM start time.
This would put it on a direct collision with AEW’s All Out pay-per-view which will be held at the same time just 20 miles away in Hoffman Estates at the NOW Arena.
WWE has ramped up its competition with AEW, booking events on the same day as AEW pay-per-views, including pitting an AAA show and an NXT show on the day of All In.
Meanwhile, the logo for the show has been published, sporting the Chicago colors of red, white, and blue along with the four stars of the Chicago flag.
Tickets for WWE/AAA Worlds Collide go on sale next week on Ticketmaster.com.

Appearing on ESPN New York radio ahead of tonight’s Saturday Night’s Main Event at Madison Square Garden, WWE champion CM Punk talked about his time off from WWE right after WrestleMania 42.
He said it was remarkable that he managed to get the time away while he wasn’t injured or due to surgery and noted it was the first time in his career that he had such time off.
“I’m not going to say a rough year, you know…because suffering is relative, I was World Heavyweight champion on RAW for quite some time, and during that entire time I was champion, I had at least three or four people who were very close to me pass away,” Punk revealed.
He said that each time someone passed, he still went to work the following day because it helped him but he chose not to talk about it publicly.
“Being here amongst my road family and being able to connect with the fans on that level helped me get through it, but there was still some stuff I needed to process,” Punk continued. “So, my time away was just to kind of reset.”
Punk added that now that he’s champion, he’s back as full time as full time can get.
“If you’re upset that I was mourning some dead friends, I think that’s a you problem. We should celebrate people taking some time for themselves,” he concluded.
Netflix released their bi-yearly What We Watched report, with viewership of every single show on the streaming service, giving a clear picture of how WWE premium live events performed throughout the year.
These numbers does not include viewership from the United States as ESPN has the rights for WWE PLEs in the country.
The Royal Rumble pulled in 3.1 million viewers, followed by Elimination Chamber at 1.9 million. WrestleMania 42 Saturday had 2.7 million and WrestleMania 42 Sunday followed with 3.0 million. Backlash had 1.4 million and Clash in Italy that same month had 1.6 million. Night of Champions in Riyadh was the least popular with just 1 million viewers, although numbers for that show are “cut off” due to the timing of the show and the day of the report was released.
Compared to 2025 viewing data, Royal Rumble and WrestleMania both registered an increase in viewership while Elimination Chamber stayed the same and Backlash was down by 100,000 viewers.
Dynamite scored big in the ratings this week, drawing 786,000 viewers, up 13,000 viewers from last week’s number. The show had a 0.15 rating in 18-49, which was up 0.03 from the prior week. Both numbers are the best of 2026 so far and with no sports competition, it seems like AEW has finally found some momentum. Dynamite was #2 on the top 50 cable chart for the night. An interim WWE Women’s champion will be crowned at SummerSlam as Rhea Ripley does not seem likely to be returning from her injury within the next few weeks.
On Smackdown last night it was announced that qualifying matches will be held to determine five contenders who will then wrestle in a ladder match at SummerSlam to crown the new interim champion.
Interim champions are rarely used in WWE and usually those injured are stripped off their title.
The first two qualifiers were held last night, with Tiffany Stratton defeating Jacy Jayne and Jade Cargill defeating Nia Jax, with both advancing to SummerSlam.
Jax will have another shot at this next week versus Charlotte Flair since Flair cost her the DQ loss last night.
