Audio leaked from the Roast of WrestleMania event

What happens in Vegas…goes on the Internet!

The whole audio from the Roast of WrestleMania event was leaked by someone with the username TackleBoxTalk on social media.

The event was supposed to be cell phone free and everyone was asked to place their electronic devices in a pouch, with clear instructions that anyone caught using a device would be ejected immediately.

The Roast of WrestleMania was not a televised event and will probably never see the light of day considering the types of jokes that were said during the event, deemed not acceptable in today’s society.

Comedian Tony Hinchliffe headed up the event and it included guests such as The Miz, Sami Zayn, Paul Heyman, R-Truth, Braun Strowman, Nia Jax, Pat McAfee and Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias.

Some of the jokes, especially by Paul Heyman and Nia Jax, were deemed a little bit too harsh, especially jokes on people who were not there to fire back.

WWE has already started striking down several different uploads of the event on both YouTube and X, claiming copyright violation.

But as you know, once it hits the Internet, it’s never really deleted and if you search hard, you will eventually find it.

Arn Anderson pays tribute to Steve “Mongo” McMichael

In a post on X, Hall of Famer Arn Anderson paid tribute to fellow Four Horseman Steve “Mongo” McMichael, who passed away yesterday at the age of 67 after a long bout with ALS.

“Today, the world is less one hell of a man. A beast on the football field and, as everyone in Chicago knows, a real man’s man,” Anderson wrote.

He said that McMichael walked into their world with little or no formal training and being a god in his world didn’t necessarily translate to success in wrestling.

“When we made him a Horseman, we found out right away you would never want to meet him in a dark alley if he had ill intentions. But no better guy to go to war with as we found out on many occasions,” Anderson continued.

Anderson thanked McMichael’s family for sharing him with them, even if it was for a short period of time.

“To Mongo, nothing but love and respect. I am honored to have known you. Side note to God: You’re gonna have your hands full with this one!”

An amazing athlete and human being,” Flair wrote on X. “I have the fondest memories working with him, and this is an extremely heartbreaking loss for me! I love you Mongo! You fought one hell of a battle! Rest in peace my friend!”

Joe Hendry discusses receiving the call from Triple H to appear at WrestleMania

Speaking to Ariel Helwani on The Ariel Helwani Show, TNA champion Joe Hendry described how his WrestleMania appearance came together.

Acknowledging that he’s been evading this question every time someone asked, Hendry said that he found out a week before when he received a text from Triple H asking him if he can talk.

“So I was in the airport and I got a text from Triple H saying can you talk and you know I was at WWE World, I was scheduled to be there to be signing things and I thought you know, maybe something to the effect of you know they’ve got the Slammies or it might be like, you know, doing a promo,” Hendry said.

But the call went into a totally different direction.

“Triple H says, ‘Listen I’m sure you’re aware that Randy needs an opponent,’ and yeah, that that threw me off completely that I was in a in a state of shock,” he continued.

He said that he’s proud of what they were able to accomplish and the shot of the spin-around getting an RKO is now being made into a trading card.

“I think it was a really fun moment for the fans, walking to the ring in front of 60,000 people it was a huge moment for me and what an honor to share the ring with Randy Orton,” the champion said. “I just wrestled Randy Orton at WrestleMania! What is going on it’s incredible!”

Asked who was the first one to find out after he hung up with Triple H, Hendry said he couldn’t tell anyone and had to sit on the secret for a whole week.

In early 1995 before going to WCW, McMichael appeared on WWE television with Lawrence Taylor in the build-up to WrestleMania XI.

McMichael, a Super Bowl champion with the Bears, was inducted into the football Hall of Fame in the class of 2024. While every step was taken to have him appear live at the ceremony, his ALS prevented him from being there but was part of the broadcast from his home along with his former team mates.

Noam Dar returns on NXT, wins Heritage Cup

Noam Dar returned on NXT last night and won the Heritage Cup for a record four times.

Dar has been absent from WWE television since late May of last year after suffering a leg injury. He was attacked by Ethan Page to write him off television at the time.

The Israeli star was Lexis King’s mystery opponent on last night’s episode after King was forced to defend the cup in return for Las Vegas magicians Penn and Teller giving it back to him after they made the cup disappear.

King will now go for the NXT North American title next week in a match against Ricky Saints.

Greater Orlando Sports Commission gets $18 million to bid for upcoming WWE events

The Orlando Business Journal is reporting that the Orange County Commissioners on Tuesday approved millions in a budget to lure WWE and UFC events to the city.

$18 million out of the $29.46 million requested are going to the Greater Orlando Sports Commission to drive Orlando’s bids in securing multiple WWE events, including WrestleMania in 2031.

Greater Orlando Sports Commission President and CEO Jason Siegel added that the commission is “in the process of bidding on the events and the WWE is in conversation with roughly two dozen other cities on various events.”

On a related note, the city is also trying to lure the Jacksonville Jaguars to move to Orlando. The Jags are owned by Shahid Khan, the father of AEW President Tony Khan.

Joe Hendry returns on NXT to confront Oba Femi

TNA champion Joe Hendry returned to NXT last night in Las Vegas, continuing his excellent WrestleMania weekend after making a surprise appearance at Allegiant Stadium to answer Randy Orton’s open challenge.

Hendry interrupted an in-ring segment between NXT champion Oba Femi and Trick Williams. Williams joked that he didn’t lose to Orton at WrestleMania, with Hendry firing back saying that at least he was on the show in front of 60,000 people and not backstage.

The TNA champion said that once he retains his TNA title at Rebellion this coming Sunday, he has business with Femi. Femi warned him not to make the same mistake that Moose did. At that point, Williams was annoyed at being the third guy and got physical with both. Unfortunately for him, both champions teamed up and got rid of Trick.

Hendry defends his TNA title against Frankie Kazarian and NXT’s Ethan Page at Rebellion.

The Rock explains why he decided not to participate at WrestleMania 41

The Rock was not at WrestleMania this past weekend, but he did appear via video on The Pat McAfee Show today to discuss WrestleMania and his lack of involvement.

Johnson said that a month or so before Elimination Chamber, he got a call from Ari Emanuel who asked him to appear because of two things: ticket sales were slower than anticipated and they wanted to make Elimination Chamber special.

He said that during phone conversations with higher-ups in WWE, they decided to run with what happened at the Chamber. But after that, he said his work was done and it was up to Cena and Cody to make it work.

Johnson noted that had he appeared in the build-up or even at WrestleMania, the spotlight would have been on him rather than John Cena, who is now a heel and chasing the record breaking #17.

“Let the Final Boss step back into the shadows and let all the spotlight go to John. Let it go to Cody. Let’s not make it about John’s soul or Cody’s soul. Let’s let them do what they do,” Johnson told McAfee.

Speaking about the match, he said he was surprised to see Travis Scott come out and immediately thought that fans would now think that he’s next. And while he loved how the match ended, Rock said he would have changed a few things here and there and how they got to the finish.

He again doubled down on the fact that he should not have been involved and all the spotlight should have been on Cena.

“Why get involved in that finish when the spotlight should just be on, in my opinion, John…17, heel champion, what does 2025 look like if this man is saying he’s going to ruin professional wrestling,” The Rock continued. “That to me is the anchoring storyline.”

The Rock said that they will eventually revisit the “soul” storyline and revealed that Seth Rollins texted him and said when it’s time, his soul is for sale as well.

Bayley reveals length of current WWE deal in latest interview with Chris Van Vliet

Bayley appeared on Insight with Chris Van Vliet to talk about a variety of subjects, including her current WWE deal.

Bayley revealed that she has a year and a half left on her current WWE contract and is unsure what will happen after that.

“I think I’ve done everything I really want to do, not everything,” she said. “There’s still a lot I want to get done, but done so much with WWE and I’ve been here for already 12 years.”

Bayley was left off the WrestleMania card after she was supposed to team up with Lyra Valkyria, only to be replaced by Becky Lynch.

She said that there’s a huge wave of women coming who are ready to take over the spots people like her are in right now.

Other highlights below.

On the Bayley Buddies:
“I think that was supposed to be Adam Rose’s. I don’t know what exactly happened or why it didn’t work for him, maybe he didn’t want it. But I literally showed up at TV that day and they’re like hey, we want to go through your entrance real quick. I was like, okay. At that point I was like, they never do that to me, I’m just freaking loser, I just walk out and I wave to people. I already had the character, but I think that I was maybe a month into the character. Then they surprised me with it, came out and they popped up. This is awesome! Everybody watching, talent and stuff were like, Dude, that looks so cool and, yeah, it became a thing. I think it was supposed to be for Adam Rose though, because he had a whole, crazy character stuff. But I was so happy even having that. I remember sometimes at entrances for big matches, whenever they would pop up it would get a second pop. I would get a good reaction, but then the tube men got a big pop. It was like oh sh*t, they’re here.”
On whether the Bayley Buddies will return:
“I cut them up and then they sold them. They sold the cut ones. They sliced them into pieces, and then they sold them. I think it’s like a picture of me slicing them, or something like that. I don’t know.”
On her pandemic injury:
“This will be a story for another day, because I’m not ready to share it yet, but my injury ended up being more than what everybody knows. It was a bigger injury than anybody knows. There’s a few people that are aware of it, and obviously the office and stuff. But that’s the reason, wasn’t just an ACL thing, it was a bigger injury, and that’s the reason why it kept me out longer. It still bugs me to this day. I can’t do certain things, it’s hard for me to run, it’s hard for me to do leg curls. There’s a lot of things that I can’t do because of that injury. So there was a time, maybe in PT doing stuff where I was like I can’t even walk, I can’t jump. How am I supposed to wrestle in like three months or something? So there was that little doubt which I’m sure everybody goes through with injuries, but I always knew that I was going to come back. Because, I mean, it wasn’t that crazy of an injury. It was just like where am I going to fit in kind of thing. My whole idea behind Damage CTRL was like alright, I’ve won my championships. I’ve had my Mania moments. Now as a character and as a bad guy, I could be like I don’t even want anything for myself, I want it for them. They’re gonna reap all the benefits of my experience, and they’re gonna get all the championships, and they’re gonna get everything. Then when the time is right, I’m gonna steal it right from them, I’m gonna take the spotlight right back when I’m ready. But while I’m still recovering and finding my ways, they’re gonna do all the work for me. That was my idea behind it.”
On her original pitch for Damage CTRL:
“I had a whole [plan], there’s five of us, my pitch for Damage CTRL. I also had Raquel [Rodriguez] in it. I also had Alba Fyre in it. I had so many other girls in mind too. I had Toni Storm. I wanted Toni Storm in it. But when I actually sat at the PC and shot stuff, it was with Raquel and Alba, and all five of us. I had reasons why I wanted them. Raquel was obviously our muscle, but she was teaming with Dakota at the time, I believe. So they worked out perfectly. Alba and IYO I think were teaming a little bit there, so they worked out perfectly. But in my mind, it was there’s two tag teams and then IYO was my champion; she was going to be the champion. I just want to do everything in wrestling. That’s how I always thought. I want to be a bad guy. I want to be a good guy. I want to be in a faction. I want to be in a tag team. I want to be a singles wrestler. I want to be in a romantic love angle someday. I want to be able to do everything, because there’s so many different things that we could do in this crazy world to not try different avenues and work with as many people as possible. I just want to do it all.”
