Steve “Mongo” McMichael moving to hospice

The Chicago Tribune is reporting that Professional Football Hall of Famer and former WCW star Steve “Mongo” McMichael is moving to hospice care due to his ALS.

The newspaper says that McMichael was recently put in intensive care and now there are preparations to move him into hospice.

The former Chicago Bears NFL player worked for WCW between 1995 and 1999 and was first a color commentator and then even got in the ring as part of The Four Horsemen.

In early 1995 before going to WCW, McMichael appeared on WWE television with Lawrence Taylor in the build-up to WrestleMania XI.

McMichael, a Super Bowl champion with the Bears, was inducted into the football Hall of Fame in the class of 2024. While every step was taken to have him appear live at the ceremony, his ALS prevented him from being there but was part of the broadcast from his home along with his former team mates.
