The Undertaker and Michelle McCool talk variety of subjects during LFG press tour

WWE LFG

The Undertaker and Michelle McCool appeared on the WrestleStar YouTube channel to promote WWE LFG which kicked off its second season last night on A&E.

Michelle McCool on potential Evolution 2 appearance:

“Yep, I always say I’m just a phone call away,” she stated. “I’ve actually been in the ring a little bit, feeling pretty good, if they ask, I’ll be there. In fact, I would love a Lay-Cool reunion. I think Layla finally kind of get back at the scene. But look, I’m always down to fight. I’m always ready. I have not been called, but I would love to do anything that they asked me to do….I think I got one more. I always say I’ve got one more in me…but yes, I’m good for one more.”

The Undertaker on where the WWE product lacks:

“Man, it’s hard to put a finger on that, especially since the business itself is so incredibly strong right now. As far as gates and all the money that is generated, I feel like there needs to be maybe….some more deeper storylines. Everything is, you know we had The Bloodline story, which was incredible. And I mean, no, I mean, it’s probably not even over yet, but there because there’s so many in The Bloodline or who’ve crossed paths with The Bloodline. But that was such a it was such a rich, rich story. And it worked so well. So I would like to see some more deep-rooted trajectory. Yeah, I think more personal, more personal stories and vendettas and underhandedness,” he explained. “Yeah, I like my bad guys to be bad and my good guys to be good, right? You know, I need to feel my good guys in jeopardy and have them really overcome things. And I think if we can do a little bit more of that, I think we’ll be in a good spot.”

Michelle McCool on her women’s wrestling Mount Rushmore:

“I think you got to put Mae [Young] on there. I think you got to put Chyna on there. I’m gonna go, [Fabulous] Moolah also. Well, I mean, that’s who paid the way….I’m gonna go, Sensational Sherri. I think she changed the game.”

The Undertaker on whether he thought 2004 was the right time to end the American Badass gimmick:

“Yeah, no, I thought it had more legs,” The Undertaker said. “I think really, we just kind of began to scratch the surface of what the range of that character would have been. It was just, you know, just sometimes you can only fight the man so long and, you know, he loved—Vince, I’m talking about Vince—he loved his Undertaker. He was on board when I came up with the American Badass… he understood my reasoning and my logic behind doing it. But he was also like, always waiting on the day of the return. You know, the hat, the coat….But yeah, I thought it had more legs. But yeah, everything worked out all right.”

In unfortunate timing, WWE heads to the Middle East next week

WWE stars and crew are set to jet off to the Middle East next week for Friday Night Smackdown and Night of Champions which are scheduled to take place from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia also happens to be smack in the middle between two countries at war at the moment: Israel and Iran.

Night of Champions is pretty much sold out at the Kingdom Arena and Smackdown the night before also has a healthy number of tickets out.

WWE has so far not commented on the situation and as of this moment, the shows are still set to go.

With the U.S. involvement in the bombing of Iran last night, the situation might change however and the next few days should paint a clearer picture of the crisis in the area. A lot of air space in the region is also closed so if they still decide to pursue the shows, those working the events might have to sit on the plane for a little bit longer due to detours to avoid the dangerous skies.

Jim Ross still hopeful to be fit for a role at All In: Texas

Jim Ross is still planning to be at the All In: Texas pay-per-view despite recently undergoing surgery to remove colon cancer.

During the latest episode of Grilling JR, Ross said that the July 12 date is a realistic expectation from him and he’s very hopeful he can make it and hopefully call a match or two.

“I’d love to be a part of that event and see the fans and see the talents. I miss the talent a lot,” Ross said. “I’ve been kind of isolated here at home.”

JR said he’s taking it day by day as he heals and gets better. He said that surgeons told him they were happy with the procedure and they’re confident they took it all out, admitting he was “scared to death” for a while.

But Ross is still feeling the effects of the surgery.

“I’m sore from the surgery, my abdomen is real sore, but I’ve endured worse,” he continued. “I’m feeling pretty good, actually.”

He is set to return to the hospital for more follow-ups next month.

NXT Heritage Cup vacated as Noam Dar suffers injury

Noam Dar, the NXT Heritage Cup holder, is injured and has been forced to vacate the trophy.

The news was announced by NXT General Manager Ava via a post on social media just days before Dar was set to defend it against Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo on NXT on CW.

“Due to injury, Noam Dar will not be able to compete this Tuesday and will have to relinquish the NXT Heritage Cup Championship,” Ava wrote.

A new champion will be determined on Tuesday as Stacks will take on an opponent still to be named, with the winner getting the trophy.

Dar won the NXT Heritage Cup on the show following Stand & Deliver in Las Vegas.

Kota Ibushi returns on Collision

Kota Ibushi made a surprise return on AEW television last night during Collision and had a face off, and brawl, with Kazuchika Okada.

The Japanese star is a former tag team partner of Kenny Omega, who happened to be wrestling Okada at All In. Ibushi and Omega were known as the Golden Lovers in New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

Ibushi has not appeared on AEW television since November 2023 when he teamed up with Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho, and Paul Wight to take on Brian Cage, Kyle Fletcher, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Konosuke Takeshita in an eight-man tag match.

He will return to the ring for AEW next week and this will be his first match since February after suffering an injury.

Casino Gauntlet match added to All In: Texas

All In: Texas

A Casino Gauntlet match has been announced for the All In: Texas show in July.

No participants have been announced yet for the All In match.

The battle royal is the third match officially announced for All In which for now includes Moxley vs Page for the AEW World title, Storm vs Mone for the AEW Women’s title and Okada vs Omega for the AEW Unified title.

WWE now billing SNME match as Goldberg’s final match

Saturday Night's Main Event

The July 12 Saturday Night’s Main Event match between Gunther and Goldberg is now being billed as Goldberg’s final match.

While it was believed to be the case heading into the show, it was only in the press release issued yesterday that WWE formally announced it, saying the show will be “headlined by Goldberg’s final match versus WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther.”

The program between the two started back in October of last year at Bad Blood in Atlanta as the two had a confrontation at ringside. As faith would have it, they meet again in the same city and same arena for Goldberg’s final ride.

Goldberg was promised a retirement match by Vince McMahon after Goldberg agreed to face Roman Reigns in Saudi Arabia. The match was never honored by the old WWE regime but Triple H and Nick Khan, heading up the new WWE management, agreed to let Goldberg’s story finish as it was once agreed.

Elijah suffers torn triceps, out for months

Elijah is out for an undetermined amount of time after the company announced that he is suffering from a torn triceps.

His injury happened in a six-man tag match on NXT where he teamed up with Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura to take on Trick Williams, AJ Francis, and Wes Lee.

It is believed that he already underwent surgery but no timeline for his return was given.

He was supposed to play a big part in last night’s Impact television tapings from his hometown of Pittsburgh, but obviously that did not happen.

Joe Hendry gets TNA title shot at Slammiversary

Joe Hendry will get a rematch for the TNA title at the upcoming Slammiversary pay-per-view.

The match announcement came by TNA via a post on social media as they plugged tickets, which haven’t been selling really well. Slammiversary will take place from the huge UBS Arena in Long Island, New York on July 20.

Hendry lost his championship to NXT’s Trick Williams at the Battleground event in May.

John Cena drops his own pipe bomb on CM Punk

John Cena dropped his own pipe bomb on CM Punk last night to close out Smackdown as he ripped on Punk for eight minutes.

The promo came after Ron Killings defeated Cena via disqualification when the champ hit Truth with the WWE championship, forcing the ref to call for the bell. Punk came out for the save, but Cena took out Punk too with the title and an Attitude Adjustment through a table.

He then sat on the turnbuckle and started his long promo as Punk played dead on the broken table.

Cena said before he rides off into the sunset in six months, he has a lot of things on his chest he needs to get off. He told Punk he doesn’t hate him, he actually likes him, but he can’t stand the fact that he calls himself the best in the world because Cena is the GOAT and Punk is just the “greatest bullshitter of all time.”

The champ said that he’s actually jealous of Punk because of his ability to con everyone into believing in the myth he spreads.

“But now they don’t believe a god damn word you say because you change your values as much as I change my t-shirts,” Cena said, referring to Punk now going to Saudi Arabia after speaking against it for so long.

“You’re an opportunist who will step on the necks of people who actually work hard if it gets you ahead,” Cena continued, looking at another camera while he said “hi” to Claudio Castagnoli, Nic Nemeth, and Matt Cardona. “How you guys doing? Ohh yeah we’re still on baby, he’s heating up, he’s on fire,” he continued as he tapped on the mic and smiled.

Cena said that all Punk does is just regurgitate the same “five microphone moves of doom,” calling him a “promo potato salad.”

“You’re no longer the voice of the voiceless, you’re a freaking millionaire. You’re a capitalist and you’re not against TKO dude, you are Mr. TKO because they knocked your balls technically off your body,” the champ said.

Cena continued, “In Saudi Arabia you’re gonna face some loud loud music when I finally prove to the world that each and every day, day in, day out, no days off for 25 years, I have been the greatest of all time.”

Cena said Punk was the best in the world for seven minutes 14 years ago and if after Night of Champions he’s still delusional enough to believe that he’s the best in the world, “Well, I guess it’s a small world after all.”

With his promo coming to a close, Cena told USA Network they can “keep” the extra 2 1/2 minutes they have left.

“Elvis has left the motherfudger building,” Cena said as the crowd roared with their approval.

Cedric Alexander makes TNA debut at Impact tapings

It’s not going to be a Hurt Business/Syndicate reunion yet for Cedric Alexander as the former WWE star showed up in TNA last night during the Impact television tapings.

Alexander came in to interrupt Mustafa Ali, preventing him from attacking John Skyler. The two had a face off before Ali left the ring.

Alexander was released from WWE in February and there were rumors that he might end up in AEW to join MVP, Shelton Benjamin, and Bobby Lashley to reunite the full group from their WWE time. While that could still happen in the future, it looks like his journey will have a stop in TNA first.

Last night’s Impact was screened live and free on TNA+. It will air next Thursday on AXS TV.

First two King and Queen of the Ring finalists are…

The first two finalists in the King and Queen of the Ring tournament were revealed last night on Smackdown.

Later in the broadcast, Randy Orton also punched his ticket to the King of the Ring final as he beat Sami Zayn, winning the match with the usual RKO. The Viper meets the winner of the Cody Rhodes vs Jey Uso match, also set for Raw on Monday.

The final match will take place at the Night of Champions premium live event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Saturday, June 28.
