The first match for the next AEW pay-per-view, WrestleDream, was made official last night.
Darby Allin issued a challenge to Jon Moxley for an I Quit match, a match which Moxley accepted after Dynamite went off the air. Allin made his presence felt last night, coming down to chase The Death Riders with a flamethrower following the ending of the main event which saw new AEW Women’s champion Kris Statlander turn down the invitation to join the faction.
Allin and Mox had a violent casket match at All Out last week which Moxley won after Pac returned to help. All previous matches between the two were won by Moxley.
WrestleDream will take place from the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri on Saturday, October 18.
In a video posted on her Instagram, Jazmyn Nyx wanted to tell the full truth about why she departed WWE.
Nyx said that this was a personal decision purely because of money, and a decision she had to take for herself and her future.
“Personally, the contract that they were offering me for the next three years just wasn’t going to cut it for me financially and that’s okay,” Nyx said.
She said she was grateful that she got the opportunity to wrestle for WWE after she played professional soccer in Iceland, but she had to turn down a lot of outside opportunities while she was under contract with WWE and now she is able to explore those opportunities again.
“There’s been a lot of opportunities that I’ve had to turn down and pass up, but now that I am out of the job, I can kind of explore these opportunities more and take them more seriously,” she said. “Love my Jazmyn Nyx fans. Thank you guys so much for supporting me and having my back for the past three years. It’s been an amazing journey and I will miss you guys.”
Following reports of alleged domestic abuse, former TNA Knockouts champion Masha Slamovich issued a statement on social media to tell her side of the story.
Slamovich said that she takes responsibility for her actions and she was sorry and embarrassed, however, she was in a “toxic and mutually destructive relationship” where both hurt each other deeply.
TNA has since launched an internal investigation into the matter after a friend of her ex-boyfriend uploaded several photos and texts in a Dropbox folder for the whole world to see.
Slamovich was also removed from tomorrow’s Victory Road show where she was supposed to challenge for the title again.
Her full statement can be read below.
“Up until the beginning of this year, I was in a toxic and mutually destructive relationship. We hurt each other deeply, and in private moments, failed to treat each other with the consideration and respect we both deserve.
I take responsibility for my actions and I am sorry, embarrassed, and ashamed of the role I played in our relationship and the way things turned out.
In the time since, I have sought help to reflect on this time and deal with conflict in more mature, healthier, and sustainable ways.
I apologize to those I let down, including my former partner. I hope he is able to heal.
Orange Cassidy made his return to AEW television after six months out following a torn pec injury.
The popular star was the surprise partner of Mark Briscoe and Hologram in a trios match against Konosuke Takeshita, Kazuchika Okada, and Hechicero.
Cassidy made his grand entrance by coming out from a picture frame which Don Callis was going to unveil. The whole return however was a bit mistimed, with the lighting and the music/video board not matching, not to mention that his entrance video transitioned to a huge red “Media offline” graphic.
“I thought I sent the correct file type to graphics. Guess not. Oh well. Hey, what’s up?” wrote Cassidy on X afterward. The AEW X account welcomed Cassidy by reposting his message and saying, “It’s fine. Or whatever.”
Cassidy last wrestled in March on Dynamite in an AEW International title eliminator tournament final four way match which also included Mike Bailey, Ricochet, and Mark Davis.
The important announcement by AEW President Tony Khan last night on Dynamite was the creation of the AEW Women’s Tag Team titles.
Appearing in front of fans, Khan said that 2025 has been a great year for AEW and was proud of the women’s division. He said the inaugural tag team champions will be crowned before the year is over, although Khan did not give any specific information on how or when they will be crowned.
Renee Paquette, who was at ringside, then unveiled the AEW Women’s Tag Team titles which are similar in design to the men’s tag team titles.
The titles have been in the pipeline for quite some time and Khan has said in the past that he was waiting for the right moment to introduce them.
Not much has been announced for the post-All Out Dynamite set for tonight, airing live on TBS and streaming on HBO Max starting at 8PM ET.
Two matches are currently on the card, with the brand new AEW Women’s champion Kris Statlander defending her title against Mina Shirakawa in her first title defense and a trios match between Mark Briscoe, Hologram, and a mystery partner against Kazuchika Okada, Konosuke Takeshita, and Hechicero.
Plus, Tony Khan will make an important announcement, an announcement which there are no hints about for now.
While doing media to promote the WrestleMania 42 ticket sales, WWE Women’s champion Tiffany Stratton told the Going Ringside podcast that she’s physically doing okay following a few weeks on the sidelines.
Stratton had a bad and rough landing following a moonsault in her match against Nia Jax a couple of weeks ago and was pulled from the NXT Homecoming broadcast as a precaution.
“Obviously on that moonsault it was a little bit of a rough landing. However, I was fine,” Stratton said. “I think it was just more precautionary and kind of just monitoring and seeing if anything was bad about the fall. But for the most part, I’m doing good. I’m great!”
Stratton confirmed that the three-way match scheduled for the next Smackdown between her, Jax, and Jade Cargill was supposed to be part of the Wrestlepalooza show but it was pulled not because of time, but as a precaution as she was still not cleared to compete.
While Wrestlepalooza did not make it in the Netflix Top 10 global chart, the show performed well enough to chart in top 10 in 25 different countries.
The PLE did not air on Netflix in the United States, which obviously affects the popularity of the show. It was the first show on ESPN for those in the United States.
Wrestlepalooza charted in Bolivia, Bahamas, Bahrain, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Jordan, Kuwait, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Trinadad and Tobago, and United Kingdom.
The Law & Crime Network channel on YouTube published a 23-minute video of a pastor’s son who allegedly held four people captive in a basement for years, with the thumbnail of the video showing the person wearing an AEW hoodie.
Donnie Ray Birchfield Jr. was arrested by authorities in Lancaster, South Carolina after police discovered the alleged abuse after responding to the unattended death of one victim, later finding three more people confined inside his home, some reportedly held as long as a decade.
In the video, he is photographed at an AEW event posing with AEW President Tony Khan and Luchasaurus during the pandemic era and other photos of him published in the video show him at a wrestling convention with One Man Gang and posing with someone else who is blurred in an Undertaker t-shirt.
Birchfield is facing 16 charges, including false imprisonment, domestic violence, exploitation of vulnerable adults, and financial fraud.
The AEW Tailgate Brawl episode of Collision on Saturday at 2PM ET prior to All Out drew just 184,000 viewers, down 351,000 viewers from the Wednesday night episode which aired after Dynamite. The one-hour show had a 0.04 rating in 18-49, down 0.08 from the Wednesday night airing. (Ratings credit: Programming Insider)
WrestleMania 42 tickets officially went on sale to the general public this morning, with only two-day combo tickets available.
The Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada will be the host for the second time in a row, becoming only the second facility to host back-to-back WrestleManias after Trump Plaza did the same for WrestleMania 4 and 5.
Demand for next year’s WrestleMania has been mild to put it at best so far and ticket sales have clearly showed that. The pre-sale yesterday was not hammered and thousands of seats are available at face value, with a large portion of the stadium still not open for tickets.
The cheapest seat for two nights is currently at $597.70 and the most expensive is $13,891 for ringside. The $32,000 second row seat which was available yesterday was sold.
TNA has opened an investigation into Masha Slamovich, their former TNA Knockouts champion, after alleged evidence of domestic abuse surfaced yesterday.
Slamovich dated former MLW star Akira and a friend of his dropped several screenshots of texts and photos showing physical abuse in a Dropbox folder for everyone to see.
“Masha is an abusive piece of shit who feels entitled to everything including a Ribera Jacket,” Akira’s friend wrote. “Anyways enjoy some of her abusive text messages.”
Reacting to the release, Akira said his friend held back for months because he asked her to and he still doesn’t want to say anything, but the situation has now changed.
“Kinda wanna throw up, kinda want to go away forever,” he wrote, adding that he was angry and suicidal since the end of January and revealed that he tried to kill himself three times.
Akira went on to explain what happened in a long post on X, saying that he tried his best but his best was never good enough.
Meanwhile, when Sports Illustrated reached out to TNA Wrestling for a comment, the company issued a statement saying, “We take any allegations like this very seriously, and have begun an internal investigation.”
Last week’s episode of Raw, which started at 7PM ET for the first time, drew 2,600,000 global views on Netflix, the same number as the prior week.
Raw was #7 on the top 10 global Netflix chart with 5,300,000 viewing hours off a running time of 1 hour and 58 minutes.
The show was in the top 10 in 12 different countries including Bolivia, Canada, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Mexico, Nicaragua, Sri Lanka, Trinidad and Tobago, and United States. The show did not have a top 10 classification in any European country.
The Beautiful People – the team of Velvet Sky and Angelina Love – will be inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame next month, joining Mickie James in the class of 2025.
TNA President Carlos Silva surprised the two during an interview hosted by Tommy Dreamer, with the two turning emotional after the announcement.
Silva invited the two to Bound For Glory to accept the induction and make a speech.
“That means the world to us,” Sky said.
The duo adopted The Beautiful People name in 2008 and had several members join over the next eight years, including Madison Rayne and Lacey Von Erich. Love and Sky were the founding members of the team.

PWInsider.com is reporting that Jazmyn Nyx, one third of Fatal Influence, is departing the company when her contract expires shortly.
The website said that Nyx was offered a new deal to remain but she turned it down, opting to try her luck elsewhere.
The 27-year-old was dumped from Fatal Influence last night on NXT after she was ambushed backstage and found lying on the ground. NXT Women’s champion Jacy Jayne was not bothered by it and informed her partner Fallon Henley that it was time to cut her loose.
Nyx has been with NXT since 2022 and her last match was at the NXT Homecoming episode last week in a six-woman tag match.
The TNA invasion on NXT started last night on The CW with an angle which saw several TNA stars striking in the main event.
The NXT vs TNA title-for-title match between Oba Femi and Trick Williams was interrupted by Santana, who was on the receiving end of a slap by Williams. Santana returned the favor and the referee called for an end to the match.
During the match, several TNA stars were shown in the audience and once the match was over, all hell broke loose.
Matt Cardona, Santana, Frankie Kazarian, Mance Warner, Cedric Alexander, Zachary Wents, The IInspiration, Moose, Lei Ying Lee, Victoria Crawford, Eric Young, Steve Maclin, Steph De Lander, and others stormed the ring and the NXT locker room emptied as well resulting in a massive brawl.
The invasion was expected after the announcement of last week’s title for title match which did not sit down well with TNA stars, arguing that the TNA title should be defended against TNA stars.
NXT tonight will be headlined by a winner-takes-all match between the NXT champion and the TNA champion, with Oba Femi and Trick Williams on a collision course to determine who will walk out of Orlando with the two titles.
The rumored TNA invasion will start tonight, with several TNA names reportedly in Orlando and set to be part of the broadcast.
The only other two matches announced for the show are Lexis King vs Myles Bourne in a lights out match and Lainey Reid vs Candice LeRae where the winner faces the WWE Speed Women’s champion at No Mercy.
NXT airs at 8PM ET on The CW and on Netflix internationally.
Mark Shunock, better known to WWE fans as Smackdown ring announcer Mark Nash, sat down with Chris Van Vliet in Las Vegas to discuss his journey from the theater stage to professional wrestling, playing Timon in “The Lion King” Broadway show, how he went from announcing Top Rank Boxing to WWE, providing the introductions for John Cena and Cody Rhodes, the origin of his WWE name, winning the Stanley Cup with the Las Vegas Golden Knights and more!
On how he became a part of WWE:
“Well, we all know Nick Khan is the president of WWE, they lost a ring announcer, and there was an opening. I got a text message out of the blue from Triple H. I looked down at my phone, and it was right around the time of the election last year. So I looked at it at first, and I don’t even know if he knows this, but I looked at it at first. I said, Oh, this has got to be a solicitation text for a candidate, right? It was just numbers, and it started out, ‘Hey, it’s Paul Levesque, Triple H with WWE.’ So it was like when you see that, you know they’re not really texting you. That’s a bot texting, right? Like ‘Hey, it’s Morgan Freeman. I want you to vote for me for the Screen Actors Guild’ or whatever. Yeah, that’s what I thought it was when I first glanced at it, and I looked down, whatever. But my phone, like many people have, is connected to my computer, and I was working on my computer and I could see the text message also pop up on my screen. I read the first bit, and I was like oh, this is actually him. This isn’t somebody pretending to be Triple H. And I read the text, and it was like, ‘Hey, man. We’re big fans of your work over here. You got time for a call?’ Yeah, hold my beer. Of course I got time for a call. The greatest mind in wrestling of all time is texting me, and I’m like, wow. And that’s how it started. We started a conversation, and the timing was perfect. My contracts were up with Top Rank, and I graciously said, ‘Hey, I think I’m gonna move over here’, and I will say this about Top Rank. Brad Jacobs, who was my point, is probably one of the most incredible human beings on the planet. His words to me when I called him were, ‘It sucks for us. This is incredible for you. Congratulations.’ To this day, I have the utmost respect for Brad. And I’m sure, I don’t know for a fact, but I’m sure Nick had something to do with this when that vacancy presented itself. Because he’s the one who brought me over to boxing, and I’m sure he had something to do with bringing me over to the WWE. And you know, Joe Tessitore is with the WWE, and he was the voice of Top Rank forever. So we have a wonderful relationship. And I can say that Joe has been remarkable in holding my hand. Everybody has been. So again, kid in the candy store, humble as hell, grateful for everything.”
On the origin of his WWE name:
“There’s a process there, and it’s awesome. That’s a big part of wrestling is finding out who this person is now, and where this name is, or how they’re finding that name. So it didn’t come overnight, and there was a lot of conversation about it back and forth with options, and Nash was, believe it or not, something that I came up with. It’s my mother’s maiden name and my father’s last name squished together. So my father’s name is Shunock, as everybody knows, S, H, U, N, O, C, K. My mother’s maiden name is Nassr N, A, S, S, R. So I took N, A, S, H, put it together, and I just threw it in an email. I didn’t even need an explanation. I said, ‘Hey, what do you guys think about Mark Nash? It’s my mom’s name and my dad’s name squished together.’ They’re like, awesome. So again, as much as it’s not my real name, it is. So when I walk out, I am so proud of Mark Nash on that screen, because you’re allowing me now to tell the WWE Universe that that’s my mom and my dad on that screen with me, and I’m just like you and probably all of your listeners. We all have families. We all have mothers and fathers, and I love mine just like everybody else, and they’re with me every Friday night.”
On his never-seen 17 John Cena introduction:
“I’m gonna just say it. This [Stanley Cup] ring is pretty special, and that’s an iconic moment from the Stanley Cup. I don’t know that I will ever be a part of a moment. Let’s knock on wood that they keep happening as amazing, I don’t have another word for it, just unreal, amazing, incredible, as this last three months that I’ve had with John Cena. Again, what is life? He points at you and calls you into the ring and tells you, ‘Your announcement sucks. Read this instead.’ And then I’m like, okay. I get this elaborate ring announcement for John, it goes bananas and viral, and everybody loves it. And I’ve had the privilege of now repeating it for three months, and that came to an end two weeks ago, his last appearance on SmackDown, and I had a moment with him where I literally just looked him in the eyes, and I said, Thank you so much for this incredible opportunity. Again, I don’t even know that we’d be sitting here if it wasn’t for that, right? Because it propelled me in the WWE Universe in a pretty cool way.”
