The 2025 Continental Classic tournament will kick off on Wednesday, November 26 on the Thanksgiving Eve episode of Dynamite.
The popular round robin tournament will feature ten AEW stars split in two groups, the Gold League and the Blue League, with points assigned according to wins and draws. The tournament then turns into a single elimination one after all matches have taken place with two semi final matches and a final.
The winner of the tournament wins the AEW Continental title, which is currently held by Kazuchika Okada as part of the AEW Unified title. Okada will be in the tournament to defend it.
Eddie Kingston won the inaugural Continental Classic in 2023 and Okada won last year’s.
The interim Ring of Honor Women’s TV title is no more as Mercedes Mone defeated Red Velvet last night on Collision to unify the titles in her hometown of Boston.
The match main evented the three-hour Dynamite and Collision broadcast, with Mone hitting a very impressive-looking avalanche lung blower for the pinfall victory.
After the match, Mone went posing on the commentary table as AEW Women’s champion Kris Statlander looked on. Statlander also posed with the title and Mone threw her titles on Statlander and lunged on her as the two brawled.
Red Velvet won the title on the Death Before Dishonor show in July 2024. The interim title was created a year later after Velvet was injured, with Mina Shirakawa winning it at the Supercard of Honor. Mone won the interim title at WrestleDream.
AEW will have a three-hour block on TBS tonight with a two-hour Dynamite followed by a one-hour Collision ahead of the Full Gear pay-per-view this weekend.
The show will kick off at 8PM ET live from Boston and will also stream on HBO Max.

Talking on the Raw Podcast following this week’s episode from Madison Square Garden, John Cena said that he was very glad that he got to see Zack Ryder back for one night.
“Matt is a personal friend of mine. I can speak candidly like that and I’ve seen his mind grow,” Cena said, mentioning that Cardona’s quest for growth and the change from the Zack Ryder he knew back then was incredible.
“The Zack Ryder I knew from a long time ago has accrued so much sports entertainment wisdom and it’s amazing when we have interactions,” Cena continued. “He’ll tell me about his journey and be like, ‘This is what you were trying to talk about before and I wasn’t I wasn’t ready to understand it,’ and I like rooting for people who are humble enough to admit when they’re wrong and always want to grow and are doing things for the greater good of the business.”
Cena also mentioned Chelsea Green, Cardona’s wife, who he said she’s also one of those people just like her husband.
“I was just, really, I was really happy to see Zack Ryder back,” Cena concluded.
Ryder lost to LA Knight in The Last Time Is Now tournament and another close friend of Cena, Dolph Ziggler, was brought in for Raw at MSG and lost to Solo Sikoa in the same tournament.

The pre-sale for the 2026 Elimination Chamber premium live event went live this morning on Ticketmaster.com using the code ALLWWE.
The show will take place from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois on Saturday, February 2026.
The cheapest available seats in the pre-sale are going for $204.90 while the most expensive at ringside are $7,085.90 for first row.
This is the first time that WWE will run a show at the United Center since SummerSlam 1994.
The United Center has 19,000 seats and while Chicago always turns up for WWE, especially when there’s CM Punk on the card, it will take some time to fill that up with the current ticket prices!
David Otunga sat down with Chris Van Vliet at West Coast Creative Studio in Hollywood, California to discuss his journey from NXT Season 1 to the main roster, the Nexus’ shock debut on Raw, whether John Cena winning at SummerSlam buried the group, winning the Tag Titles with Cena, how the coffee cup became a part of his character, getting to wrestle Bret Hart, the transition to announcing, what he is doing now, and more!
On whether he considers himself to be retired:
“No, I just consider myself as having not wrestled in a long time.”
On when he knew it was time to step away:
“It wasn’t necessarily my last match. That’s the thing, in my mind, I’ve never had my last match. It’s just where I was in the company and becoming an announcer and doing all that, they didn’t really want me doing in-ring stuff. You actually get a different contract where you are on an announcer’s contract instead of a talent one. So it just was they weren’t even thinking about me, booking me creatively, although I did pitch some ideas, and was gonna have my own stable. I wanted to, got a little bit of traction.”
Who was gonna be in your stable?
“Well, I don’t know. I pitched something, I don’t know if I called it The Firm or what it was, but it was kind of what The Hurt Syndicate ended up becoming. But it was before that, so it was three years before that. I don’t know when they came out. It might even been longer, because it was 2019, this is before COVID, at least. But anyway, I was going to be the leader of that as a heel lawyer. And, yeah, they liked it, but it obviously didn’t [happen], they liked me better as an announcer.”
Do you think John Cena buried The Nexus?
“Oh yeah, that’s 100% accurate. I mean, that’s what happened, that is what happened.”
Is it because Cena wanted to go over in that match?
“Yes. And I don’t know why he wanted to go over, but we knew all day we were supposed to go over, and then things started getting weird, and then they tell us, no, the finish changed, and it’s because John wanted to go over, and we weren’t happy about that. The other guys in the match weren’t happy about that. If I’m being honest, I think John probably knows that wasn’t the right idea. I mean, maybe obviously, at the time, he thought that was the right call, but in retrospect, I don’t even think he would agree that that was the right thing to do.”
So what was the finish supposed to be?
“I know we were supposed to go over. I don’t know how. I don’t know how many of us there were [supposed to be left in the match], but there were some shenanigans [planned] and ultimately, we went over.”
For those that don’t know, Cena takes a DDT on the concrete, it’s 2 on 1, and he still wins:
“But either way, you spend six months or however long it was building this faction, and we’re the strongest thing, we’re the hottest thing they have. Then now, why would you have us lose that? This is the main event. To really build these new stars, you want us to keep going. We could have rode this all the way to Mania, but then after that, we’ve now lost and that took us down a few pegs. After that, we never regained the steam. They ended up separating us. Even then, they started to have a good storyline going where we were gonna oust Wade Barrett, and I was gonna take over. I remember, I kicked him out of the group. I think it was Raw, and then the next week, I was supposed to then become the leader. However, then it’s hey, surprise guys, we got a new leader for you, CM Punk. Wait, what? How does this fit in? And I guess he needed a faction. Straight Edge Society was done and he needed a new faction. So I don’t know why they decided just to give him Nexus. So then the storyline that we had going just stopped, and now we’re The New Nexus with CM Punk, which, eh. It never really took off, I think, because it was a disconnect for the fans too.”
On sharing the ring with Bret Hart:
“That was awesome. Just to share the ring with him, and getting to talk [to him]. Bret is one of my favorite people in WWE, period, in all of professional wrestling. So just getting to talk to him, getting to know him, that was awesome. He’s so humble and so knowledgeable, and then being able to share the ring with him, it was awesome, but it was nerve-wracking a little bit because we didn’t want to hurt him. We know that he’d had some injuries and some health problems before. So we were very, very careful with him. But it was awesome.”
The November 10 episode of Raw on Netflix drew 2,800,000 viewers, up by 400,000 viewers compared to the previous week. This was the best number registered since August 18.
Raw was #7 on the top 10 Netflix global chart and it was based on a running time of 1 hour and 44 minutes. It had registered 5,100,000 global viewing hours, which was less than last week due to a shorter running time.
The show was in the top 10 in 14 different countries including Bahrain, Bolivia, Canada, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, India, Mexico, Nicaragua, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom, and United States.

During an hour-long interview with Ariel Helwani, AEW President Tony Khan said that WWE never reached out to AEW to have Adam “Edge” Copeland be part of John Cena’s farewell tour.
Edge was one of Cena’s most fierce rivals throughout the years, with the two wrestling countless times against each other.
Asked point blank if WWE did reach out to him to maybe work out a deal, Khan replied in the negative, but said never say never in the wrestling business.
“Never say never in wrestling, because I would imagine they could always extend the date past the end of the year,” Khan said referring to Cena’s final match with WWE.
“But no, Adam’s going to be here with us through the year,” he continued, confirming that Copeland’s deal only runs till the end of 2025.
“Adam Copeland is a huge part of AEW, and I have so much respect for him. I really, really like Adam a lot, and I’m glad to have him here. Even though he’s away filming, he’s still with us and will continue to be,” Khan said.
It was announced last night on night one of NXT Gold Rush that WWE Intercontinental champion John Cena will be choosing the competitors of the men’s and women’s Iron Survivor matches.
Cena will appear on next week’s episode via video announcing all the 10 competitors who will participate in this match at the Deadline premium live event on December 6.
Previous Iron Survivor competitors advanced to the match by winning qualifying matches on NXT television.
But Cena has taken a particular interest in NXT lately and has visited the Performance Center multiple times to spend valuable time with the future of this industry. Cena also came up with the idea of having NXT stars taking on WWE stars for the undercard of his final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Tatum Paxley’s reign as NXT Women’s champion ended last night at NXT Gold Rush after just 23 days.
Paxley main evented the broadcast against Fatal Influence’s Jacy Jayne and her team mates – Shawn Spears, Niko Vance, and Izzi Dame – all turned on her, contributing to her downfall and title loss.
She had joined The Culling earlier this year but a turn has been coming for a while, with some hints dropped at her title win last month at Halloween Havoc.
Jayne is now a two-time NXT Women’s champion, becoming only the fourth person to carry the title twice along with Shayna Baszler, Roxanne Perez, and Charlotte Flair.
