It was announced last night on night one of NXT Gold Rush that WWE Intercontinental champion John Cena will be choosing the competitors of the men’s and women’s Iron Survivor matches.

Cena will appear on next week’s episode via video announcing all the 10 competitors who will participate in this match at the Deadline premium live event on December 6.

Previous Iron Survivor competitors advanced to the match by winning qualifying matches on NXT television.

But Cena has taken a particular interest in NXT lately and has visited the Performance Center multiple times to spend valuable time with the future of this industry. Cena also came up with the idea of having NXT stars taking on WWE stars for the undercard of his final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
