WWE takes over Petco Park as setup for Survivor Series starts

Survivor Series 2025

WWE has already taken over Petco Park as they set up for this weekend’s Survivor Series.

The structure supporting the large canopy, which has a large WWE logo on both sides, has already been erected. The structure will also support the speakers and video screens which will hang above the two rings. It also holds the steel cage which is lowered and raised for the two WarGames matches.

While structures like these are not popular with fans since those sitting in the corners will have their view affected by the four pillars in the way, it was a necessary evil since Petco Park is an open stadium with no roof.

WWE has sold nearly 35,000 tickets for this event and it will be the highest-grossing and most-attended Survivor Series in history, largely because this is the first time that Survivor Series gets the stadium treatment. Tickets are available from Ticketmaster.com starting from $119.79.

AJ Lee and Stephanie McMahon discuss 2015 equal pay controversy during podcast

The recently-returned AJ Lee was the special guest of Stephanie McMahon’s What’s Your Story? podcast, a podcast which dropped today.

This was the first podcast Lee has done since she returned to WWE in September of this year and it was a bit ironic that her first one would be with McMahon, who Lee aggressively went after on X in 2015 on an issue with equal pay while still in WWE.

McMahon said that AJ was very clear that she would love to do the podcast on one condition: that they would address what they went through in the past.

“I’d love to jump right into that,” Lee said.

“I was actually happy that you posted that but I wasn’t happy that it was directed him because it wasn’t anything I had direct control over,” McMahon replied.

The whole podcast can be seen below.

Dynamite and Collision schedule changes for December

Both Dynamite and Collision will see some changes to their schedule in December to accommodate other programming during the Christmas period and other shows.

The December 13 Collision, which will be taped from Cardiff, Wales, will air at 4:30PM ET to avoid going head-to-head with Saturday Night’s Main Event which features John Cena’s final match.

A three-hour block of Dynamite and Collision will air on Wednesday, December 17, with both shows taped from Manchester, England. Dynamite starts at 8PM ET and then it’s followed by a one-hour Collision at 10PM ET.

Another one-hour Collision on Saturday, December 20 will air at 2:30PM ET. This is due to the Worlds End pay-per-view later that night.

Dynamite on Christmas Eve will air earlier in the evening with a 6PM ET start time. This is due to TNT and TBS doing their Christmas marathon movie.

Collision will air on Christmas Day rather than on the Saturday that week with a start time of 9PM ET. Both the Christmas Eve Dynamite and Christmas Day Collision are taped shows from the previous weekend from the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York.

AEW will return to its live broadcast on New Year’s Eve, Wednesday, December 31 for a show starting in its usual time slot of 8PM ET.

Mercedes Mone comes up short, again, in her quest for the AEW Women’s title

Mercedes Mone might have 13 titles, but the one she really is craving the most – the AEW Women’s title – remains out of her reach after she lost yet another attempt to win it last night at Full Gear.

Mone wrestled champ Kris Statlander in her second shot for the AEW Women’s title, but the result was the same as All In this past July: a clean loss.

The TBS champion, whose title was not on the line, came up short on Saturday night, with Statlander winning the match after delivering her Saturday Night Fever finisher for the pinfall victory.

Typically booed and not a crowd favorite, Mone did get the crowd going after she hit an impressive 14 Amigos, 14 back-to-back suplexes emulating her hero Eddie Guerrero, who made the 3 Amigos famous.

For now, Mone has to be happy with 13 as it will probably be a few more months until she is back in contention for the big one.

This was just her second singles loss in AEW, with “Timeless” Toni Storm inflicting her previous L.

First three competitors of the 2025 Continental Classic tournament announced

Continental Classic

The first three competitors for the upcoming Continental Classic tournament were announced last night at Full Gear.

The current champion, Kazuchika Okada, will be in the tournament to defend the title, which is right now merged with the AEW Unified title. Okada won last year’s tournament and has kept the title ever since.

Joining him will be the reigning IWGP World Heavyweight champion Konosuke Takeshita and also now former TNT champion Kyle Fletcher. Fletcher lost his gold yesterday at Full Gear to Mark Briscoe.

The Continental Classic will have a total of 12 stars, split into two leagues of six in a round-robin tournament before it goes into a single elimination as the tournament comes to a conclusion.

The Lucha Bros reunite, to wrestle at upcoming AAA show in December

WWE AAA

The Lucha Bros reunited on Saturday night at the AAA show which aired live on YouTube worldwide on WWE’s and AAA’s channels.

The two appeared via video and interrupted Dom Mysterio’s in-ring promo following his tag team match with El Grande Americano.

Penta and Fenix issued a challenge against Mysterio and Americano at the upcoming Guerra de Titanes on December 20, with Mysterio accepting.

While the brothers teamed frequently on AEW, they have been kept apart on WWE programming and this is the first time they will reunite for a show under the WWE banner.

Swerve Strickland returns at Full Gear

Swerve Strickland returned to AEW last night during the closing moments of Full Gear and aligned himself with his nemesis, “Hangman” Adam Page.

Following Page’s loss to Samoa Joe in the cage match and as Joe was celebrating with his gang, the lights went out and a familiar image of Page’s house burning aired on the big screen. Prince Nana came out first, followed by the former AEW champion.

Joe offered Page up to Swerve to continue the damage but Strickland decided to go after the new champion, cleaning house by taking out The Opps’ Dojo members as well. Page recovered and joined Swerve as the two looked down to Joe and the rest of his group as they retreated.

Strickland has been out of action for a couple of months due to a knee surgery. His last match was at the Forbidden Door in August in London.

Four new AEW champions crowned at Full Gear 2025

A total of four new champions were crowned at a busy AEW Full Gear 2025 pay-per-view last night in Newark, New Jersey.

FTR started the party first, defeating the team of Bandido and Brody King to regain the AEW Tag Team titles. This is FTR’s third run with the titles and ends Brodido’s reign after just 90 days.

Ricochet got his first gold in AEW after securing the inaugural AEW National title. The title was up for grabs in a Casino Gauntlet match and Ricochet drew spot #3. The match also had Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia, Orange Cassidy, Wheeler Yuta, Kevin Knight, Roderick Strong, Mark Davis, “Speedball” Mike Bailey, and Matt Menard as competitors.

Mark Briscoe also got his first taste of gold in AEW when he won the TNT title from Kyle Fletcher in a no disqualification match. Fletcher’s reign ended after 114 days and Briscoe becomes the 18th different person to hold the title.

And last and certainly not least, Samoa Joe is the new king of the jungle after he beat “Hangman” Adam Page in a steel cage match to win the AEW World title. Joe becomes a two-time champ and halts Page’s somewhat disappointing 133-day run with the gold.

Throughout the night, Flair and Ripley had a meeting to smooth things over after Flair walked out on them a couple of weeks ago but that was not the focus of the main event.

Ripley then introduced their fifth and final team mate: AJ Lee.

As AJ entered, The Kabuki Warriors, Nia Jax, and Lash Legend stormed the ring and attacked while Becky Lynch, the fifth and final member of the heel team, attacked AJ in the aisle.
