Mercedes Mone might have 13 titles, but the one she really is craving the most – the AEW Women’s title – remains out of her reach after she lost yet another attempt to win it last night at Full Gear.
Mone wrestled champ Kris Statlander in her second shot for the AEW Women’s title, but the result was the same as All In this past July: a clean loss.
The TBS champion, whose title was not on the line, came up short on Saturday night, with Statlander winning the match after delivering her Saturday Night Fever finisher for the pinfall victory.
Typically booed and not a crowd favorite, Mone did get the crowd going after she hit an impressive 14 Amigos, 14 back-to-back suplexes emulating her hero Eddie Guerrero, who made the 3 Amigos famous.
For now, Mone has to be happy with 13 as it will probably be a few more months until she is back in contention for the big one.
This was just her second singles loss in AEW, with “Timeless” Toni Storm inflicting her previous L.
