Smackdown Live TV report for 07/18/2017

This Sunday is Battleground, and on this week’s Smackdown! Live, we are getting a preview of Battleground’s main event as WWE champion Jinder Mahal has promised to show us the Punjabi Prison! He and Randy Orton will engage in that match on the Pay-Per-View for Jinder’s championship.

That and much more, as is the “go-home” show!

Tuesday Night Smackdown! Live Television Report for July 18, 2017 – “Battle Lines”

Introduction Segment: Video Promo

A montage of WWE Champion Jinder Mahal and Randy Orton’s rivalry plays, with images of the Punjabi Prison mixed in.

Arena Promo

The Singh Brothers introduce WWE champion Jinder Mahal; they all make their way to the ring and then the Punjabi Prison is lowered around them and the ring. The Singh Brothers describe how the Punjabi Prison match works: there are two cages that are made out of bamboo – one that surrounds the ropes like a regular steel cage, and one that surrounds the ring like the Hell In The Cell; but both have no roof. On the inside one, there are four doors that will be unlocked when the referee wants; the competitors have one minute to exit through them, and ultimately, the way to win is to escape both cages. Jinder states “there are no rules,” referring to no disqualification, count-out, etc… Mahal threatens what he will do to Orton at Battleground, and then talks to his people in Punjabi.

Randy responds, telling Jinder what Mahal’s done to him already and saying that he (Orton) has “nothing to lose.” During this, Orton slowly climbs the outer prison and stands near the top of it; he predicts that he will become the new WWE Champion at Battleground.

Later tonight, John Cena talks about his Flag Match with Rusev at Battleground, and United States Champion A.J. Styles teams with Shinsuke Nakamura to wrestle Kevin Owens and Baron Corbin

He hits a couple of clotheslines, a dropkick, and then a flying clothesline! He drops his legs for the Boom Drop, and goes for his Trouble In Paradise spin-kick, but Jimmy stops him.

Uso runs in the corner again, but Kingston kicks him back, however Jimmy stops Kofi on the top turnbuckle. Uso goes for a super-plex, but Kingston fights and pushes Jimmy off, but is reversed on when he went for a crossbody and Uso turns it into a cover of his own for the victory!

Winner via Pinfall: Tag-Team Champion Jimmy Uso (with Tag Team Champion partner Jey Uso)

Tamina declines this, and Natalya votes for Charlotte to wrestle Lynch. “The Queen” declines, instead wanting a “competitive match,” which Becky detests, but Shane books them anyway!

Match #2: Single – Mike Kanellis (with Maria Kanellis) VS. Sami Zayn

Sami punches Mike to start and rams his head on the turnbuckle. He punches him a few times in the corner, and then dives on to him on the outside! Zayn rolls Kanellis into the ring, and soon clotheslines him to the floor on the opposite side! He chucks him into the corner of the barrier, and then clotheslines him again in the ring! He tosses him into the corner with an exploder suplex, but then Maria blocks Sami from doing any further damage. She soon moves and Kanellis (male) hits Zayn with a punch and then plants him to the canvas with a Samoan Driver, finishing this!

Winner via Pinfall: Mike Kanellis (with Maria Kanellis)

After the break, John Cena!

John Cena enters the ring and attached to two of the ring posts are the United States flag and the Bulgarian flag, respectively. Cena puts over Battleground’s card, and asks the fans “what will you remember?” He tells them they will recall “a Flag Match.” He puts over what America is, and says that the people will be reminded that one of the flags will be raised at Battleground. John recognizes that some of the people don’t like him, but informs them he is “ready.” “I promise you, I AM READY!”

After worshiping America more, Cena takes the American Flag and shows it off until Rusev enters and beats him down! “The Bulgarian Brute” locks on The Accolade (Camel Clutch Submission); John tries to get out of it but Rusev overpowers him and Cena falls to the mat. Rusev takes his home country’s flag and holds it up. He walks to the stage and places it in a holder, much to the boos of the crowd.

United States Champion A.J. Styles and his Tag-Team partner for tonight – Shinsuke Nakamura – are chatting. Styles tries to remind him about their time in Japan, but Shinsuke stares at A.J’s U.S. Title, and then tell shim, “one day you call, I answer.” Nakamura walks off as Styles looks on pondering.

Match #3: Single – Becky Lynch VS. Charlotte Flair

(Note: Natalya is on commentary.) Becky locks up Charlotte by her wrist and takes her to the mat. Charlotte kips out and they elbow-collar tie-up. Both work around each over, and then Lynch armdrags and dropkicks Flair. Becky offers a handshake but Charlotte goes for a clothesline, which Becky ducks. Charlotte back flips a couple of times, and Lynch soon tries her Disarm-Her hold, but Flair twirls out of it and goes to the outside for a break.

Commercials.

Charlotte is dominating now, and we see Women’s Champion Naomi look on from backstage. Flair goes for a Figure-4 or 8, but Lynch kicks her off and gives her a Becks-ploder a couple of moves later. She hits her “Fire-Arm,” (running forearm smash) but only gets two! She goes for her submission finisher two more times, but Charlotte gets out of them, and instead almost gets this with a roll-up and another cover respectively!

Flair climbs the turnbuckle and moonsaults off, but Becky rolls out of the ring and ties Charlotte in her Disarm-Her, eventually forcing Flair to give in!

Winner via Submission: Becky Lynch

Post-match, they shake hands and then Lana and Tamina march out. Natalya comes in and she, Tamina, Lana triple-team Charlotte and Becky. Natalya then hits Tamina and jaws with Lana, but Tamina comes back and knocks out Natalya, and then stares down Lana and leaves the ring.

Up next, “The Fashion X-Files!”

Commercials.

Backstage Promo

Rene Young asks Women’s champion Naomi about the five-way elimination match to see who she’ll face at SummerSlam for her Women’s championship. She says she’ll be ready for whomever, and then Carmella walks up and reminds her that she will be there where Naomi is with the Money In The Bank contract.

Video Promo

“The Fashion X-Files – ‘The Truth Is Not H’” are presented, complete with an intro much like The X-Files. Fangando is “Mul-Dango,” and Tyler Breeze is dressed as Agent Scully, with a red-haired wig. They rethink about “reality,” wondering if The Hype Bros are right. Suddenly, they hear a high-pitched tone, which is really Aiden English warming up his operatic voice. A light then appears above their heads, and a delivery man walks in. Fandango brushes his face and shoulders, saying “he’s so life-like,” and one of them called him “the little green man!” He states that he’s just “the delivery guy’ and he flicked on the light!

They open the box they are given, which is Tully’s head – their toy horse – ala the 1972 movie The Godfather. A note is inside the box that had Battleground written on it; they figured out this will be over then. A line pops up on the screen that reads “Concluded at Battleground.”

Commercials.

United States Champion A.J. Styles enters the ring, and as Shinsuke starts his, Baron Corbin attacks him! Styles runs to help, as does Kevin Owens, and they all brawl until Referee Charles Robinson gets order!

Commercials.

Match #4: Tag-Team – United States Champion A.J. Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura VS. Baron Corbin and Kevin Owens

Baron is now stomping away at A.J., as he took control after slugging Styles with a hard right hand. He tags in Owens who repeatedly kicks A.J., but eats a dropkick as he ran off of the ropes! Styles makes the hot-tag and Nakamura has the momentum over Kevin.

He continuously strikes Owens with knees, kicks, and fists, but tumbles to the floor after Baron pulls the top rope down. Kevin switches with Corbin, and he takes over in the corner, mudhole-stomping. He and Owens trade a couple of times, and Baron tries a slide, but Shinsuke counters with a dropkick!

Nakamura crawls but is yanked backward by Corbin, who also hits A.J. off of the apron. Shinsuke comes back with a few kicks, but is distracted by Owens, and then planted with Baron’s Deep Six spinning-backdrop! Nakamura manages to kick Corbin again and then get to A.J. to tag out!

“The Phenomenal One” is fired up against Kevin, and drives him to the mat with a wheelbarrow-buster! 1 – 2 – Owens gets his shoulder up! A.J. goes for his Fireman’s-Carry Knee, but Owens counters into a hard clotheslines. He switches with Baron, who tosses Styles from a calf-crusher attempt, but is soon has it clamped on anyway. Corbin gets to the ropes, but A.J. sets up for his Phenomenal Forearm. Owens pulls Styles off of the apron, and Shinsuke runs to defend, but is hurled into the corner on the outside!

A.J. has Corbin in position for the Styles Clash, but Owens stops it and slams him down with his Pop-Up Powerbomb! Kevin covers and receives the victory!

Winners via Pinfall: Baron Corbin and Kevin Owens

Post-match, they all stare each other down to close the show.

End of Smackdown! Live.

Until next week, Be Excellent Wrestling-Online and Wrestling Fans!

Mike Kanellis to make in-ring WWE debut tonight on Smackdown

Two matches have been announced for tonight’s Smackdown Live broadcast which is taking place from the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama.

It will be a good night for Mike Kanellis who will be making his WWE in-ring debut tonight at the show, taking on Sami Zayn. Mike will be accompanied by his wife Maria, her first time as a valet in a WWE ring since her departure seven years ago.

Also set for the show is a tag team match of AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura versus Kevin Owens and Baron Corbin. WWE champion Jinder Mahal will be showing off the Punjabi prison structure while John Cena will be addressing the flag match against Rusev.

Sasha vs Bayley next week for a title match spot at SummerSlam

The number one contender for the Raw Women’s title match will be decided next week…unless WWE pulls another swerve similar to what they did with the number one contenders match for the WWE Universal title.

Best friends Bayley and Sasha Banks will be going one on one with the winner taking on Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam. Bayley has gotten the best of Bliss over the past two weeks while Sasha defeated Bliss at the last pay-per-view via count-out, so Bliss retained the title.

Bayley last held the Raw Women’s title at the end of April, losing it to the current champion, while Sasha last held the same title in December, losing it to Charlotte Flair.

Monday Night Raw TV report for 07/17/2017

Welcome to a HIGHLY anticipated episode of Raw! I’m @TheMagnumDA, and I will be your reporter for tonight’s festivities. We have a #1 contender to decide (Samoa Joe vs. Roman Reigns), plus Kurt Angle comes clean regarding his personal situation. Looking forward to this weekend’s Tragos/Thesz Hall of Fame ceremonies! Check out more information here: http://nwhof.org.

Shoutout to the Renegade and the Fabulous Feldman Brothers!

Raw is LIVE from Nashville, Tennessee. We start tonight’s program with Dean Ambrose! He comes out with a chair that he named “Steely Dan”. Seems appropriate in Music City USA. Well, except for the fact that they’re not Country. After threatening The Miztourage with said chair, Seth Rollins comes out to rationalize things. Dean tells him to scram, but Seth asks him the all-important question: When Seth gets a chance at revenge against The Miz, will Dean be with him or against him? Dean says that he doesn’t know Seth anymore. Dean continues to rail on Seth for his betrayal of The Shield, until Seth finally tells him “I’m sorry!”

Rollins asks Dean what it will take for him to move on from what happened three years ago. Dean rebuffs him, so Rollins drops the mic and stands with his back to Dean (allowing him a chance at redemption). Instead, Ambrose throws the chair out of the ring. Miz’s music hits, and The Miztourage appears! They corner Rollins and Ambrose with steel chairs, eventually unloading on both of them after a beatdown. Rollins gets hit with the Skull-Crushing Finale onto a chair! 3-on-2, eh? I got a feeling the odds are going to be even very soon.

Match #1 – WWE Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley (non-title)

Alexa slaps Bayley right in the face, so Bayley drives her into the corner. Bliss turns the tables with an attack in the corner, but Bayley rolls out and recovers with a lariat. As Alexa backs off, Nia Jax’s music plays! Jax makes her way down the ring as both women look on. After a break, Bayley fights up from a reverse armbar (working on the left arm), but Bliss drives her back down for a nearfall. Alexa starts to stomp on Bayley’s shoulder while holding her arm by the wrist! Ouch. Bayley counters, and then hits the middle rope neckbreaker.

Bliss misses a charge in the corner, and Bayley drills her with a running elbow. Bliss tries to injure the left arm once more, but Bayley fights off, hitting a reverse elbow. Bayley goes up top, but Alexa rolls out of the ring. When Bayley goes after her, Nia Jax obstructs. This allows Bliss to catch Bayley with a cheap shot. As they go back into the ring, Sasha Banks comes out and DROPS Jax with a dropkick that sends her back-first into the apron. Back inside, a rollup by Bayley for the one, two, no! BELLY-TO-BAYLEY! One, two, three!

Winner: Bayley (*3/4)

Video recap of John Cena’s appearance at the ESPY Awards, followed by Stephanie McMahon winning the Stuart Scott Enspire Award for her humanitarian efforts. They mean well, but I’ll just say this: I will always share Justin Roberts’ views on WWE’s humanitarian efforts. In fact, that will always be my response whenever I see one of these videos. This is followed by a video recap of the Reigns vs. Strowman feud. Afterwards, Raw GM Kurt Angle is assured by Corey Graves backstage. Graves tells Kurt that he’s doing the right thing by coming clean. After that, the Titus Brand is getting pumped up backstage when Ariya Daivari interrupts. He asks for a match against Tozawa tonight, and Akira tells him, “You gotteeeh.” I think that’s a yes. I think.

Match #2 – Mustafa Ali & Gentleman Jack Gallagher vs. The Brian Kendrick & Drew Gulak

Gallagher and Kendrick go face-to-face and jaw at each other. Gulak gets tagged in by Kendrick, but he’s immediately twisted into a Surfboard Stomp by Gallagher! OUCH. Kendrick interrupts, allowing Gulak to land a forearm. They trade some more forearms, as Gulak knocks Jack down and stomps on his gut. Gulak hits a SERIOUS chop to Gallagher’s chest, knocking him down again. Gallagher backdrops Gulak out of the ring, but Kendrick interrupts with a tag and an attack on Gallagher. HUGE headbutt knocks both men out, but Jack somehow tags Ali on the way down. Ali comes in and hits the 054 on Kendrick! What an Inverted 450 on Kendrick! One, two, three! Whoa. That was really rushed. Well, we had to get that Stephanie McMahon video in there, I guess.

Winners: Mustafa Ali & Gentleman Jack Gallagher (*)

Enzo comes out for another LONG promo. At least he didn’t quote Sinatra this time. Enzo says he will never give up, unlike his former tag team partner Cass. He shows the video from last week where Cass retreated from a Big Show beatdown. Cass comes out and oddly enough…he tells Corey Graves “If it wasn’t for you, none of this would’ve happened.” What, is he implying that he wanted to string this out a little longer? Enzo rolls out of the ring and says that he’s got someone in mind for Cass tonight. This brings out The Big Show! Cass boots Show when he steps over the top rope, but Show counters with a headbutt! Cass gets thrown in the barricade three times!

Cass throws Show into the barricade, and hits Show with some serious taped right hands. Finally, Show throws Cass right into the video board on the apron of the ring. Show gets Cass up for a huge bodyslam to the mats outside. HUGE frying pan chop by Big Show to Big Cass. On the apron, Cass recovers and throws Show into the corner post twice. Back inside, Cass continues to beat down Show as the CASS-HOLE chants start. Huge series of kicks by Cass to Big Show’s ribs! Enzo has finally seen enough, and he runs into the ring to make the save. Unfortunately, Cass is ready and waiting with a big boot to serve Enzo for dinner. The crowd boos as Cass stands tall at the top of the entrance way.

Roman Reigns is with Charly backstage. He tells Charly that tonight, he’ll go through Samoa Joe. At Summerslam, he’ll go through Brock Lesnar to become the next Universal Champion. Why? Because he’s the Big Dog. Come on. Give me something more than that.

Match #3 – Finn Balor vs. Elias Samson

This feud feels like 2012, when Alberto Del Rio fought Kofi Kingston about 33 straight times on Raw. Booker holds Samson in high regard, saying “The guy’s good.” Booker…come on, I heard you bumping some Destiny’s Child while you were leaving a WCW House Show in Moline, Illinois. Don’t act like you’re suddenly a guitar guy. They lock up and The Drifter sends Balor back into the corner. Balor gives him a snapmare, and a kick to the back. Drifter gets up and hits a MASSIVE body slam on Balor. He pounds Balor in the corner, and then he elbows him with Finn draped on the apron. Back inside, he chokes Balor using the ring rope and then DRILLS Balor with a lariat.

Seated Full Nelson by The Drifter, but Balor fights up and runs right into a forearm. Balor responds with an Overhead Kick. Running chop attack by Balor, followed by chops and fists in the corner. Samson gets Balor on his shoulders, and turns him around into a HUGE Power Bomb for one, two, NO! Wow, that was close. Backbreaker by Elias gets two. Samson climbs up top, but Balor catches him with another Overhead Kick on the top rope. Balor with a big running kick from the apron, followed by the dropkick into the barricade! As Finn comes to get Elias, The Drifter pulls out the guitar and SMACKS Balor right in the face with it! Honky Tonk Man, eat your heart out. That was a SMASH hit.

Winner by DQ: Finn Balor (**1/4)

After the match, Bray Wyatt appears on the Titantron. Wyatt tells Balor that his suffering is enjoyable to watch. Wyatt then calls himself the “Eye of the Storm”, which is ironically the most peaceful part of a hurricane. Wyatt tells Finn that he will take pleasure in Balor’s pain. We are then treated to a Samoa Joe promo video, leading up to the main event tonight.

After a break, Sasha and Bayley talk to Kurt Angle about who should be the #1 Contender for the Women’s Championship at SummerSlam. Angle books a match between the two for next week’s Raw to decide who is the #1 Contender. We then get a recap of last week’s return of The Revival, who beat down Matt & Jeff Hardy after their loss to Gallows & Anderson. Dash and Dawson are interviewed shortly after, with Dawson telling the world that the Hardyz will remember them after tonight. TOP GUYS…OUT.

Match #4 – Akira Tozawa vs. Ariya Daivari

MORE PURPLE TAPE, PLEASE! Oh wait. They stopped doing that. Akira with forearms and a huge kick to the chest. Senton by Akira, but he lands shoulder-first and Daivari capitalizes. Ariya wraps Akira’s own arm around his neck, but Tozawa fights up. Daivari throws Akira shoulder-first into the corner post for a nearfall. Daivari talks trash, but this allows Tozawa to hit a Frankensteiner and a NICE suplex.

Daivari with an arm-first kneedrop, followed by another throw into the corner. Daivari continues to work on the arm. Tozawa is hurting, and out of nowhere…the ref stops the match?! Apparently, Titus asked the ref to stop the match. Tozawa is PISSED at Titus, yelling “I never quit!” Wow. That was 4 minutes worth of Cruiserweight action tonight…and about 2 of those minutes made no sense whatsoever.

Winner: Ariya Daivari (*)

KURT ANGLE’S CONFESSION:

Finally, we get the moment of truth: Kurt Angle comes out to talk to the fans about his personal situation. Kurt points out that, in life, actions have consequences. Angle recalls a story about his time at Clarion College, when he dated a girl that became pregnant after their relationship ended. Eventually, she gave birth to a baby boy that was given up in a closed adoption. That child grew up to be…Jason Jordan of American Alpha! Yes, THAT Jason Jordan of Smackdown. Jason is introduced as the newest member of the Raw roster, and both men embrace in the ring. Well, I was off by a mile with my guess. Crowd wasn’t into it at all. They were laughing as tears streamed down Angle’s face. Ouch. As always, let it play out, see where it goes, yadda yadda yadda.

Match #5 – The Hardy Boyz vs. The Revival

All four men brawl to start, and The Revival retreats. Back in the ring, Matt charges Dawson in the corner, and beats him down before tagging in Brother Nero. Jeff comes in and stomps Dawson into dust. Dawson sends Jeff to the opposite corner, but Jeff charges back with a clothesline and a tag to his brother. Matt catches Dawson with a HUGE fist, and then takes him down with a headlock. Dawson’s selling is great…”OWWW!” Dash tags in and they start clubbering on Matt. Dash with a body shot, followed by a tag to Dawson. They hit the double team on Matt, as Dawson continues the attack in the corner. Matt turns it around with the TURNBUCKLE TOUR! Clothesline and bulldog by Matt to Dawson! One, two, no! Jeff tags in, and they hit the double-team legdrop splash on Dawson. Dash gets a double-team legdrop splash too! The Revival retreats as we go to break.

After the break, The Revival destroy Matt and work on the left leg. Dawson hits a legdrop for two. Dawson hangs Matt in the Tree of Woe, as Dash tags in and continues the attack. Jeff runs in and attacks Dash as the ref cuts him off. The Revival start to dissect the left leg, with Dawson wrapping up the leglock. Dash tags in and wraps the leg in the ropes before stomping on it. Dawson tags back in and wraps up another leglock as the fans cheer on Matt. Matt kicks off Dawson, and somehow gets a backslide for two. Dash gets the tag and cuts off Jeff before continuing to work on the left leg. Dawson tags in and clips Matt with a dropkick to the head. Dawson FINALLY gets kicked off by Matt, allowing the hot tag to Jeff! HOUSE OF FIYAH! Clotheslines! Legdrop! Dropkick to the face! One, two, no! SPLASH from the second rope! One, two, no! Twist of Fate! One, two, NO! Fans are going crazy. Whisper in the Wind by Jeff to Dawson! Jeff goes up for the Swanton, but Dash grabs the leg and Jeff EATS IT. Dawson with the presence of mind to make the cover! One, two, three with the tights!

Winners: The Revival (***1/2)

Charly is backstage with Samoa Joe. Samoa Joe brings up the fact that he has already defeated Roman Reigns twice in a row. This time, it’s for the #1 contendership to Brock Lesnar’s Universal championship at SummerSlam. Joe claims that tonight, the third time will be the charm. After this, we are shown a video honoring Norris Peterson, a Special Olympics athlete in attendance for Raw. The fans are extremely respectful, showing Peterson the praise he deserves. I like when fans do that.

After the break, Titus talks to Akira and tells him that he was trying to protect him earlier. Tozawa appreciates it so much that he demands a match with Daivari tomorrow night on 205 Live. Following this, Michael Cole runs down the card for next week prior to the main event. Three big matches signed: Balor vs. The Drifter in a No-DQ Match, Sasha vs. Bayley for the #1 Contender to the Women’s Championship, and Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose vs. The Miztourage.

Main Event – #1 Contender’s Match for the WWE Universal Championship
Samoa Joe vs. Roman Reigns

The winner gets Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title at SummerSlam. They lock up in the ring, and Reigns gets a side headlock. Joe sends Roman to the ropes, and hits a shoulder charge to stand his ground. Slap by Joe, but Roman responds with a series of right hands. Joe retreats from the ring to the outside as we go to break.

After the break, Reigns is hit with a shoulder charge by Joe, followed by an Overhead Kick for two. Joe attacks Roman in the corner with fists and forearms. Joe takes Roman out to the middle of the ring to continue the assault, but Roman catches a roll-up for two. Joe gets up and hits a HUGE back elbow for two. Joe drops the Samoan shoulder thrusts, followed by a neck vice on Reigns. Reigns fights up, but Joe is ready to nail him with a snap suplex for two.

Joe goes back to the neck vice, and starts to talk serious trash to Reigns. Roman fights out and starts hitting Joe with fists to the gut and face. Reigns rallies with a series of lariats, but Joe catches him in the Uranage. Before the slam, Reigns fights out and hits another lariat for two. In the corner, Roman hits the 10-count with a series of lariats. Mafia Kick by Roman Reigns! Roman gets in the pose for his Superman Punch, but Joe retreats outside. Roman goes for the Drive-By, but Reigns ends up hitting back first on the apron. Miraculously, Roman recovers and just SPLATTERS Joe with a lariat. Both men are down as we go to the final commercial!

After the last break, Joe stares down Roman while continuing the punishment. Reigns fights up and starts to headbutt Joe. Reigns hits the Samoan Drop for the one, two, NO! These fans are INTO it. Joe with an Atomic Drop, followed by the running knee and the senton for two! Joe tries another Uranage, but Roman fights out of it twice before rolling into a SUPERMAN PUNCH! One, two, NO! Roman crawls to the corner when BRAUN STROWMAN appears! The ref calls the match off as Strowman approaches the ring.

Winner: No Contest (***)

He stands over Joe before turning his attention to Roman Reigns. Reigns starts lacing Strowman with punches and kicks before Braun takes control, LAUNCHING Roman into the ring. Joe is PISSED, and starts laying into Strowman. Strowman drops Joe, and heads back inside to continue the beatdown on both men. Superman Punch to Braun, followed by a Kokina Clutch on Strowman! Reigns hits ANOTHER Superman Punch on Strowman. Reigns tries one last charge, but this turns into a spinebuster on Reigns! Both Joe and Roman get a running powerslam by Strowman. Braun picks up Roman for one last powerslam. Strowman stands tall as we go to credits.

Final Thoughts: The Angle Confession left a little to be desired, but I would expect that this will lead to much bigger things for Jason Jordan. For some comic relief, check out Chad Gable’s Twitter account for his response to the whole deal. As for the SummerSlam Main Event? It’s starting to look like a Fatal 4 Way for the Universal Championship. Next Monday could be good! There’s already 3 matches lined up for next week, plus we’ll find out who gets Lesnar at Summerslam. Come on back to W-O for another installment of the Raw report! TOP GUY…OUT.

Braun Strowman interrupts Raw main event

Braun Strowman had other ideas for the Raw main event, interrupting the Samoa Joe vs Roman Reigns number one contender match for the WWE Universal title.

The big man came out to a big ovation from the crowd and destroyed both Reigns and Joe as the two tried to double-team him. They did not have much luck though as Strowman wrecked havoc and the match simply ended with no winner and no decision.

Strowman was last seen at Great Balls of Fire when he was put in an ambulance and then rammed into a semi-truck. Firefighters opened the ambulance and a bloodied Strowman stumbled out, refusing any assistance from EMTs. He did not appear on Raw the next night.

Kurt Angle’s big reveal is Jason Jordan…as his son!

The big Kurt Angle reveal turned out to be not an affair…but another son whose name is Jason Jordan!

After several weeks of hype, Kurt Angle revealed on Raw that when he was in college, he had a relationship with a woman who gave birth to a baby boy after they broke up. Angle said that he did not know of the pregnancy and eventual birth until recently and that Jordan was then adopted by another family.

The reveal brought to a close an angle that had many wondering who the person might be, with suggestions mainly being an affair with the likes of Stephanie McMahon, Dixie Carter, and others. Interestingly enough, no one guessed the outcome of the storyline, a storyline which WWE did well to keep under wraps.

Jordan has been absent from WWE television for quite a while and his now former tag team partner Chad Gable has been wrestling as a single on Smackdown. Jason Jordan, a former NXT and WWE Smackdown Tag Team title holder, has now moved permanently to Raw, ending the American Alpha tag team.

Kurt Angle with the big reveal tonight on Raw

Monday Night Raw will have two important segments tonight, one involving Kurt Angle and another that will reveal who will go to one of SummerSlam’s main events.

The big story that will climax at tonight’s broadcast will be the recent Kurt Angle mystery issues that have been playing across the past several weeks on the show. Angle has said that this information could end his career and tear his family apart. “The announcement I make in 10 hours on Monday Night Raw will change my life and career 4ever,” Angle wrote on Twitter.

At the end of last week’s show, the WWE Hall of Famer was shown talking to somebody on the phone, inviting the individual to come to Raw and join him to “tell the whole world together,” adding that neither one of them have anything to be ashamed of. “And whatever happens, happens. I love you,” Angle said.

Also, Brock Lesnar’s opponent for SummerSlam will be decided tonight unless WWE throws another curveball. Samoa Joe will be taking on Roman Reigns with the winner taking on Lesnar for the Universal title. The last time these two met, Joe put Reigns to sleep.

Becky Lynch and UFC’s Cris Cyborg for SummerSlam 2017?

WWE.COM is pushing a story involving former Strikeforce Women’s Featherweight champion and former Invicta FC World Featherweight champion Cris Cyborg who posted a fan-made poster of herself against Becky Lynch for SummerSlam.

“If @WWE can’t get Rowdy in the ring I’m not afraid of @BeckyLynchWWE,” Cyborg, who now fights for the UFC, wrote in the tweet. Lynch responded shortly after telling Cyborg that she never backed down from a challenge. “Come at me bro,” she wrote.

This exchange follows an earlier one after Cyborg told Triple H not to let Becky in a ring near her as Ireland can’t handle another star losing this Summer, referring to Conor McGregor’s fight to Floyd Mayweather. “Are you sure Dana would let you? Seeing as he doesn’t seem to let you do much else?” Becky then replied.

WWE tried to get another UFC star, Paige VanZant, for SummerSlam last year but that deal fell through. Ronda Rousey was recently back in the headlines for attending the Mae Young Classic and supporting her friend Shayna Baszler who was taking part in the tournament.

Exploring the fun and cash from wrestling

Wrestling has gone beyond the thrills and the fun – now thousands of people make money daily from betting on wrestlemania. With the right skills, and a stroke of luck the money will be yours for the taking. It may interest you to know that wrestling odds are in most online betting sites, You can confirm this by checking the wrestling odds at 10bet homepage. But first, briefly let’s intimate you on the term WWE.

WWE means the world wrestling entertainment which was founded by Jess McMahon and Toots Mondt in the early 1950s. Currently the largest wrestling promotion in the world. But that’s not all, this show boasts of about 36 million viewers in many countries and hosts more than 400 events a year and on regular basis. By now, you will be wondering, of all the sporting events in the world why bet on the WWE? I will tell you why,

  1. The thrills and fun: WWE is modeled after actual sporting events;therefore, the entire event is directed at finding a winner. Also, most people gamble because of the fun of it. Imagine that you and your friends are about to watch a match between two great Icons like undertaker and Randy Orton, you guys can just bet on the outcome and the winner pays for the drinks and that is it. In the end everyone is happy. Having fun should be the reason why we gamble in the first place – to lift our spirits.
  2. Minimal risks involved: The amount of money you are able to lose is limited because sportsbook also limits the amount of action they are willing to take on WWE. And unlike soccer which has different leagues and games every day, there are lesser games on WWE. This gives you lesser options to choose from – and more time to carefully select the games you wish to bet on. Actually, if you are truly worried about getting carried away with your bets, you should probably not bet at all. Just enjoy the show for the entertainment that it is.

Update on Hardyz/Anthem fight over Broken gimmick ownership and rights

The Sports Illustrated website has a story up recapping the whole Hardy Boyz vs Anthem Sports and Entertainment fight over the Broken ownership and trademark.

SI says that the whole ordeal was nearly settled within the last month but then Anthem requested something that the Matt and Jeff would not sign off on.

The original deal, according to sources close to the negotiations, required Matt and Jeff to pay up to $15,000 for the trademark and all parties would have to sign a non-disparagement clause. If that clause is broken – no pun intended – a $1,000 fine would have been levied for the first offense, and then $5,000 for every offense afterward. A press release was also in the works announcing that both Anthem and the Hardy Boyz were ending their battle on good terms.

But then Anthem wanted 50% of all revenue that the Hardy Boyz generate, including that from Jeff Hardy’s music, something that both Matt and Jeff flatly refused.

Over the past few weeks, the Hardy Boyz has been referencing to the Broken characters both on their Twitter and on WWE television while Matt has said publicly that this is getting closer to being resolved.

Talking Smack hosts find out news about cancellation on the Internet

When Talking Smack was canceled by WWE as a weekly show on the WWE Network, the host Renee Young and her co-host, Daniel Bryan, were not told about it and they only found out about the news when they read about it on the Internet.

“Hmmmm that’s one way to get news,” said Young, who was reacting to a tweet that tagged her.

Daniel Bryan was pretty much in the same boat. “I come online to support #SamiForSyria and find this out. I’m the GM!!! Nobody tells me anything,” he wrote.

Dave Meltzer of the Observer reported that the show was canceled because not enough people tuned in to watch the show live or on-demand. The show was bumped from its 10PM time slot to 11PM to make way for 205 Live on the Network.

“Really disappointed about #TalkingSmack. We tried to make that show great. Guess I’ll go back to welcoming my guest at this time,” Renee Young later added.

The Miz, who had some of the most memorable appearances on the show, was also disappointed that WWE canceled the program. “RIP #TalkingSmack I enjoyed the freedom this show gave @wwe talent to showcase what they could do @ReneeYoungWWE brought the best out of all,” he said.

Gail Kim to retire from wrestling in December 2017

Former Knockouts champion Gail Kim announced during last night’s Impact that she will be retiring from in-ring competition at the end of this year, hanging up her boots after a 17-year career.

“I’ve had 17 AMAZING years in pro wrestling and unfortunately it’s something that can’t last forever. I’m grateful for all the ups and downs because it made me who I am today,” Kim wrote in a post in Instagram. “I always said that I would retire when I couldn’t give all of me ALL of the time. That day and decision has come with some difficulty and peace at the same time but for the remainder of 2017, you better believe you will get ALL of me,” she added, before reminding everyone that she intends to go out on top.

The Instagram post featured a quote reading, “Immortality is to live your life doing good things, and leaving your mark behind,” along with two photos of her with the WWE Women’s and TNA Knockouts titles.

Kim had two stints with WWE and two with TNA. While in WWE, she won the Women’s title on her first televised appearance, winning a battle royal for the title. Unfortunately her title reign was just four weeks short and it was the only time she held a title in her combined five-year run in WWE.

But things got better for Kim in TNA and she found more success over there, winning the Knockouts title on six different occasions and winning the Knockouts Tag Team titles as well once. She had some very memorable matches, especially against Awesome Kong, and in 2016 she was inducted in the TNA Hall of Fame. Her two stints with TNA/Impact/GFW amount to nearly a decade.

When the @AskWWENetwork Twitter account was queried about the cancellation of the program, the reply was, “We continuously review WWE Network’s programming line-up based on a variety of factors, including viewership and subscriber research. Talking Smack and Raw Talk will air following pay-per-view events, and Tuesday will continue to feature 205 LIVE.”

Talking Smack has been airing on the WWE Network since August 2016 and featured some interesting topics and guests as well as some incidents, including one between Daniel Bryan and The Miz which resulted in Bryan walking off the show.
