WWE bans fan who threw MITB briefcase from future shows

WWE has banned the fan that threw the Money In The Bank briefcase at Roman Reigns during Saturday’s live event in Victoria.

The Canadian Press reported that Reigns and WWE did not press charges after the fan apologized for his actions however WWE has banned the 31 year old from any future WWE shows.

Sgt. Bryan Edwards, spokesman for the Victoria police, said that no one was injured in the incident although Reigns had to stay on the floor for a couple of minutes after he was clocked in the back of the head with the replica briefcase.

Sgt. Edwards added that fans surrounding the guy who was carrying the briefcase were enticing him to throw the briefcase in the ring.

Dolph Ziggler takes out Rusev at non-televised event in Vancouver

Dolph Ziggler made an unannounced appearance at last night’s WWE non-televised live event in Vancouver. Ziggler is currently there filming the WWE Studios movie 6:42 and decided to show up for the event and say hello to friends who he has not seen in a few weeks.

At the beginning of the show, Ziggler was being filmed sitting among the crowd and then walking back, before making his cameo during a segment involving Rusev, Summer Rae, and Lana.

Rusev and Summer were talking trash about Lana and Ziggler and Lana came out to fight Summer before Ziggler evened the odds and attacked Rusev in the ring, delivering a Zig Zag much to the enjoyment of the crowd. On her Twitter Lana posted a selfie of the two while she visited on set.

Ziggler has been off WWE television for over a month and is scheduled to return to WWE soon as filming is about to wrap up.

NXT Takeover: Brooklyn sold out

WWE has sold over 13,000 tickets for the upcoming NXT Takeover: Brooklyn event and the show is now officially sold out.

This will represent NXT’s largest ever crowd and the Barclays Center is set to be sold out three nights in a row with NXT, SummerSlam, and then Monday Night Raw.

So far four matches have been announced for the WWE Network special and these are Finn Balor vs Kevin Owens for the NXT title in a ladder match; Jushin “Thunder” Liger vs Tyler Breeze; Blake and Murphy vs The Vaudevillians for the NXT Tag Team titles; and Sasha Banks vs Bayley for the NXT Women’s title.

Apollo Crews, the man formerly known as Uhaa Nation, is also set to debut during the show.

Sheamus misses Australia tour due to injury

Money In The Bank winner Sheamus was supposed to be on the Australia tour that just wrapped up yesterday however Sheamus was never on the plane when it departed the United States.

Sheamus was expected to take on Randy Orton during the three legs of the tour but was replaced by King Barrett. WWE gave no explanation why Sheamus was pulled from the tour although now rumors are that he is suffering from a concussion he received during the main event of Raw.

On Twitter, Sheamus sort of addressed his absence from the tour writing, “If anyone’s looking for me, I’m #UpOver.” The Up Over comment is obviously a joke since they refer to Australia as Down Under. He then used the hashtag #LickingMeWounds suggesting he is indeed suffering from some sort of an injury.

Roman Reigns attacked by fan at Victoria non-televised live event

WWE Superstar Roman Reigns was struck in the head with a Money In The Bank replica briefcase which a fan threw from ringside during yesterday’s live event in Victoria, British Columbia.

Reigns was hit hard and then moved to the corner of the ring where he laid down for a few minutes as security rushed to grab the person involved in throwing the object. Reigns’ opponent, Bray Wyatt, looked on and then went on to check on Reigns in the corner before the referee, who at that point was helping security, stepped back in to resume the match.

The Twitter account for @ScanBC, an online radio scanning community, said that Victoria Police responded to a call at the Save On Foods Memorial Centre after a person assaulted a WWE wrestler.

The fans inside the arena chanted “kick him out” after security personnel apparently identified who threw the briefcase and ejected him from the area. A fan who was sitting ringside recorded the incident on his cell phone and you can see the video below.

Playboy takes a look at WWE Diva Charlotte

Several years ago, WWE enjoyed a very good relationship with Playboy Magazine, where several Divas graced the cover of the popular magazine in their birthday suits. However since WWE opted to go PG, one of the business agreements that had to make way was the one with Playboy.

This weekend, Playboy.com took a look at one of the Divas who just made it to the main roster, the daughter of the Nature Boy, Charlotte.

”Charlotte is one of the most popular Divas in the WWE and it doesn’t hurt that the Nature Boy’s daughter is smoking hot as well,” said the the write up. While obviously there are no nudes of Charlotte, Playboy.com decided to have one of the staff members comb through the sexy Instagram selfies of the former NXT Divas champion and put them all in one place.

Live WWE event results from 08/08 in Sydney, Australia

W-O reader Geoffrey McGee attended the live WWE event in Sydney, Australia, yesterday and sent in the following results from the sold out show.

Finn Balor defeated Neville to retain the NXT title; Luke Harper defeated R-Truth; Fandango defeated Adam Rose; Randy Orton defeated Bad News Barrett; Natalia and Emma defeated The Bella Twins; Cesaro defeated Kevin Owens; Seth Rollins defeated Dean Ambrose to retain the WWE title in a steel cage match.

During the show, Bo Dallas came out and started talking trash about Shawn Michaels, who was serving as the general manager of the tour replacing Hulk Hogan. HBK replied to Dallas’ comments by delivering the Sweet Chin Music.

Lesnar/Taker special on the WWE Network to air on Monday night

On Monday night right after Raw ends, the WWE Network will air an original special titled Undertaker vs Lesnar: One on One, a show that will run for 30 minutes.

The preview on the Network page reads, “Will Undertaker have vengeance or will Brock Lesnar dominate? Watch WWE Superstars break down the highly anticipated SummerSlam matchup!”

Meanwhile, the Undertaker has been added to the final Raw before SummerSlam at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on August 17. Brock Lesnar, who is from Minneapolis, was already scheduled to be on the show.

Steve Austin discusses Dana White’s “fake” comment about wrestling

WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin had his say on the Dana White controversy on Twitter when he called wrestling fake, sparking a controversy among wrestling personalities and fans.

In his latest podcast which featured Daniel Cormier, a big WWE fan who is also the UFC Light Heavyweight champion, Austin sort of defended Dana White saying that maybe he was trying to say that wrestling is a work. He said he doesn’t think White meant any disrespect towards the wrestling industry.

Turning to Cormier, Austin said he would take him and anyone on the UFC roster for a whole year on the road with WWE and they would never say that this business is fake but instead they would say that it’s tough.

“Fake, Dana? Not so much, a work? Yes,” Austin said, adding that he has no problems with Dana White and he loves the UFC. “But I think he does respect the business and hell, one of his biggest draws came from the world of pro wrestling,” Austin added, referring to Brock Lesnar.

WWE changes Divas stable name

The Submission Sorority name that WWE chose for Paige, Charlotte and Becky Lynch has been changed by WWE since there’s a big association with the porn industry for that name.

The new name chosen is PCB, the three simple initials for Paige, Charlotte, and Becky. At least this time Google returns mostly printed circuit boards results rather than porn videos by BangBros. With the news of WWE choosing the Submission Sorority name, it has actually pushed back the porn videos in search results with most of the first pages showing WWE related news.

Dwayne Johnson becomes first Hollywood actor to get Facebook Live…and he delivered

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was chosen to be the first Hollywood actor to launch his Facebook Live streaming feature.

The former WWE champ posted a photo along with Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg on Instagram announcing the news, adding that with his 23 million fans on Instagram and 50 million on Facebook, it’s very important to continue to evolve the way to connect to fans worldwide.

“I’ve said it before many times and it’s true, connecting with fans will always be the best part of my job,” Johnson said. “And eating sushi with Zuckerberg in Japan ain’t too bad either!”

Johnson posted a 32 minute video on Facebook Live while he was in the gym showing everyone how he works out. He also answered questions from fans who was posting live. You can see the video – which contains quite a few F bombs – below.

Two more matches official for SummerSlam 2015

Two more matches have been added to the SummerSlam card and with just two weeks away there are only three official matches on the card.

The Intercontinental title will be defended as Ryback returns from a staph infection to take on Big Show and The Miz in a triple threat match. This match was supposed to take place at Battleground but it was canceled due to Ryback’s injury.

The second match sees Luke Harper and Bray Wyatt taking on Roman Reigns and Deam Ambrose in a tag team match. Sting was rumored to be part of this particular match but now it seems that the Stinger will only be taking part in the SummerSlam meet and greet sessions and not lacing up his boots for the squared circle.

Jesse Ventura remembers Rowdy Roddy Piper

WWE Hall of Famer and former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura wrote that he has felt the loss of Rowdy Roddy Piper the whole week.

“I’ve felt the loss this whole week. I’ve got a bit of heartache, and Roddy is three years younger than me. He had a lot more to give the world to be taken from us at age 61,” Ventura wrote.

He said Piper is one of the greatest of all time and a great asset to the world of professional wrestling. “He loved the business and everything about it. There was no other job on the planet that Roddy Piper could have been better for,” Ventura said about his former colleague.

“I’ll remember Roddy as a guy who was willing to take a chance and put himself out there. When you took the handcuffs off Roddy, believe me, the handcuffs came off. We’re of the same vein: tell it like it is and stand up for yourself. People will come to see him as a cornerstone of the world of professional wrestling. He’s a legend and he always will be,” the man formerly known as “The Body” concluded.

Rosa Mendes announces she’s pregnant

WWE Diva Rosa Mendes announced on WWE.COM that she is expecting her first child, a girl that she plans on naming Jordan Elizabeth.

Rosa, who is three months pregnant now, revealed that nobody in the WWE locker room knows about the news and they will be getting the news from the interview posted on the WWE.COM page.

The WWE Diva said that it’s been hard adjusting being away from the ring but she’s been watching the girls on television and said she’s very proud of the Divas division and the new Divas who came up from NXT.

Rosa added that carrying a baby has really motivated and inspired her. “I look at powerful moms like Stephanie McMahon. She’s a mother of three and she does it all, and her kids are bright and intelligent. So, this has truly motivated me. And, I look at my accomplishments — I’m a WWE Diva, I’m an entrepreneur and now I’m going to have the most important job in the world, being a mother and giving this baby an amazing life.”

Total Divas season 4 episode 5 rating

Episode 5 of season 4 of Total Divas this week drew 1,012,000 viewers for the episode titled Tea Mode where WWE Divas visited the United Kingdom.

It is slightly down from last wee’s 1,083,000 viewers however drew a bigger 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demo. (Ratings credit: TV By The Numbers)

Uhaa Nation is now Apollo Crews, to debut at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn

Uhaa Nation, the 27 year old popular wrestler who recently signed with the WWE, has got a new WWE name and a debut date.

He will now be known as Apollo Crews and will be making his debut during the NXT Takeover: Brooklyn, on Saturday, August 22 at the Barclays Center on the eve of SummerSlam. The event will be broadcast live on the WWE Network.

Up until yesterday he was still using his indy ring name of Uhaa Nation and WWE promoted him as such when they announced him as part of the new class of recruits in April of this year.

The Jerry Lynn medical fundraising campaign surpasses $15,000 goal

The Jerry Lynn fundraising campaign to cover his medical costs surpassed its $15,000 goal and is currently at over $17,000, a sum that was raised in just 3 days from over 500 donors.

Several wrestlers and others in the wrestling industry along with fans helped with this campaign with Chris Jericho donating the largest sum, $2,000. Anything over the $15,000 required for medical expenses will be donated to the Nashville Rescue Mission.

Lynn is undergoing neck surgery this morning to remove bones spurs, replace three degenerative discs, and fuse his vertebrae. A second procedure on a bulging disc will be performed once he recovered from the first surgery.

Roddy Piper marathon on the WWE Network today including debut of new show

WWE announced on its website that the WWE Network will have a Roddy Piper Marathon today which will go on till 10:30PM EST. Several shows, including pay-per-views, Raw, Tuesday Night Titans, and Saturday Night Main Event which had a big presence from the WWE Hall of Famer are all on schedule.

Starting at 10PM EST, there will be a new WWE Network show titled Table For 3 which was announced during the conference call with investors last week. This episode of Table For 3, the first one to be aired on the Network, features Mean Gene Okerlund “hosting” a dinner with Rowdy Roddy Piper and ‘Mr. Wonderful’ Paul Orndorff as they discuss their favorite pranks and stories as well as the first WrestleMania.

Tough Enough episode 7 rating

Tough Enough went to a series low this week, getting only 856,000 viewers and a 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demo.

That is down 124,000 viewers from last week’s show which saw the elimination of Mada. The new season of Tough Enough has been a big fail for WWE and USA Network with disappointing numbers, putting in doubt a renewal for next season. (Ratings credit: TV By The Numbers)

Submission Sorority group name leads to several WWE porn problems

Whoever game the name Submission Sorority to the team of Paige, Charlotte, and Becky Lynch apparently did not do his or her homework very good as Googling the name leads to several porn videos from world renowned pornography producers BangBros.

BangBros traffic analyst Delilah Mcginnis told TMZ.COM that their web traffic shot up 56% overnight, and they saw a 35% rise in subscriptions from Monday after WWE revealed the name on Monday Night Raw.

The porn company plans to send Vince McMahon a ‘thank you’ gift basket for the free advertising and extra revenue he generated for them.

WWE is obviously going to change the name for the group since they don’t want to be associated with any pornography being a PG product. The name Submission Sorority trended on Twitter worldwide at the very top for quite a few hours as well after the story came out.
