The NXT Takeover: Dallas event has sold out after the last remaining tickets went on sale to the general public earlier today.
During the pre-sale yesterday, the majority of the tickets were snapped in a matter of minutes and today the remaining ones were gone in 15 minutes according to a tweet by Triple H.
NXT is definitely the most popular in the company at the moment and there were strong sales and sellouts for their January tour as well. This is also coming off a very successful tour in the United Kingdom which was topped off with over 10,000 fans inside the SSE Arena Wembley for the Takeover: London event earlier this week.
Every year, a group of WWE personnel travel overseas to visit the troops in conjunction with the Tribute to the Troops show and this year is no different as WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon, Big Show, R-Truth, Alicia Fox and Eva Marie made the trip to meet the troops stationed in different bases overseas.
Last year, McMahon, Show, Truth and Fox all made the trip as well however they were joined by Summer Rae, who was this year replaced by Eva Marie. Clips from their tour will eventually make it on the Tribute to the Troops show on USA Network which will air next week.
This year, the WWE group has so far visited Camp Resolute Support in Kabul, Afghanistan. Their exact itinerary is kept secret due to security issues and locations are only revealed afterward. On behalf of WWE, Vince McMahon presented a replica WWE World Heavyweight title to Gen. John Campbell, commander of Resolute Support, United States Forces-Afghanistan.
You can see five photos from their Afghan trip below.
Deadline.com is reporting that HBO, Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson are being sued for a copyright lawsuit over the series Ballers with two writers – Everette Silas and Sherri Littleton – claiming that producers lifted the concept from an idea they had titled Off Season.
The lawsuit was filed in federal court on Thursday and they are seeking unspecified punitive, compensatory and special damages.
“The stories, character traits, scenes, and incidents portrayed in the two works, Ballers and Off Season, are, in many respects, virtually identical and strikingly similar. These substantially similar elements, coupled with the Defendants’ direct access to the Materials, leaves little doubt that numerous elements of Ballers were copied from Off Season,” the lawsuit claims.
An HBO spokesman said that they are confident that the case has no merit while reps for the producers, including Dwayne Johnson, did not respond when asked for comments.
Season 2 of Ballers is currently in production and will air in 2016. The lawsuit can be read in full here.

Tag-Team Champions The New Day showed respect to the Lucha Dragons and The Usos on Monday but then were beaten down by those teams after Big E., Xavier Woods, and Kofi Kingston showed-off more; will they attack back?

Apart from the pre-sale for the NXT Takeover: Dallas event, tickets for the NXT tour in January in five different cities went on sale earlier today and three of them are already sold out.
The shows in Detroit, Chicago, and Milwaukee have all been sold out while there are still tickets left for Green Bay and Pittsburgh. It is the first time that NXT will be touring four of those cities, with Pittsburgh the only location which was toured before earlier this year.
The arenas for all these events are smaller than the ones that WWE usually use but with this demand it would not be surprising if the company opts for larger venues next time.
TNA will be kicking off their partnership on Pop TV next Wednesday, a couple of weeks earlier than their official launch on January 5.
Pop will be airing two Best of 2015 episodes, one of them next Wednesday at 9PM EST and the other one on December 30 at 9PM EST.
With no new Impact episodes left to air, these Best Of shows were supposed to air on Destination America to fulfill their obligation to the network until the end of 2015 however Destination America will not be airing TNA anymore and Wednesday was their last broadcast on the network.
TNA will be live on January 5 for the first Impact on Pop however future episodes will be taped. TNA moves to a new day as well and will be airing on Tuesdays on Pop.
NXT Takeover: Dallas pre-sale will kick off today at 10AM CST on Ticketmaster.com and the pre-sale code to secure a ticket is NXTLIVE.
Just like Raw after Mania, this particular event will be very hard to get as only around 9,000 seats will be made available and they with nearly 100,000 fans in the area that weekend, everyone would want to go the hottest WWE brand at the moment.
Ticket prices will range from $20 to $100. It will take place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Arena and the whole facility will be opened up for tickets. The pre-sale ends tonight at 10PM CST and general sale will start tomorrow on Saturday, December 19, at 10AM CST.
NXT Takeover: Dallas will kick off at 9PM on Friday, April 1, and will be live on the WWE Network as well.
W-O reader Ian Hamilton of backbodydrop.com sent in word that prior to the NXT Takeover: London WWE Network event, two matches were taped that will probably make it on the next NXT weekly show.
In the first match, Jordan and Gable wrestled Blake and Murphy, Hype Bros and Vaudevillains in what was described as a “fantastic opener.” The crowd was super hot for this match and was the first one on the card for the evening so the excitement was way up. In the second shorter match, Elias Samson wrestled Bull Dempsey.
As reported earlier, Sami Zayn also wrestled against Tye Dillinger but this match happened after the main event with unfortunately a lot of people already gone from the arena to avoid traffic and catch transport.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and his girlfriend Lauren Hashian welcomed their first child together yesterday morning, a baby girl, according to PEOPLE Magazine.
“Both Mom and Dad are over the moon, Christmas definitely came early!” a source close to Johnson told PEOPLE. Neither The Rock nor his girlfriend made mention of it on any of their social media network accounts.
Johnson has a 14 year old daughter already from with ex-wife Dany, who is now his business manager. Her name is Simone and is often ringside with her grandmother whenever her Superstar dad returns to WWE.
E! issued a press release announcing that Total Divas season five will return on Tuesday, January 19 at 9PM EST, keeping the same timeslot that the show had in season four following its move from Sunday nights.
The new season will feature Nikki and Brie Bella, Eva Marie, Paige, Natalya, Rosa Mendes, Alicia Fox, and newcomer Mandy, the runner-up from this year’s Tough Enough competition.
The preview of the drama that will be showcased this season reads, “Brie has a lot of conflict with her sister Nikki as their lives and careers go in different directions. Brie and Nikki don’t see eye-to-eye on a huge business venture, and when Nikki gets injured during her final days as the WWE Divas Champion, it leaves The Bella Twins’ career in question. Brie has to contemplate her next career and life move, while Nikki wrestles with coming clean to her boyfriend, WWE Superstar John Cena, about the romantic advances made towards her by her ex-boyfriend, WWE Superstar Dolph Ziggler. This love triangle puts John and Nikki’s relationship to the test.”
The synopsis for the storylines revolving around the remaining cast members reads, “Eva Marie continues to thrive with her in-ring training, despite the constant polarization from the other Divas. Paige confesses her true feelings about the quick engagement to her fiancé. Rosa faces the challenge of finding purpose in her professional life while pregnant with her first child. Alicia warily ventures into a new romantic relationship. Nattie continues to work through the trials and tribulations of marriage while grappling with the feeling that the younger Divas’ careers are flourishing more than hers. Mandy comes into the division wide-eyed and eager to fit in, only to find out that in order to make it as a WWE Diva, you need to be much more than just a pretty face to earn the respect of your fellow performers and fans alike.”
After the NXT Takeover: London main event was over and the broadcast was done from the WWE Network, there was one more match that the London crowd got to experience…and the return of Sami Zayn.
Zayn wrestled Tye Dillinger and after the match was over, Zayn spent around 5 minutes talking to the 10,000 fans who packed the SSE Arena in Wembley. “Guys, I hate to cut you off, you seem to be having a lot of fun…but it’s been 7 months now, there’s been something I’ve been meaning to say and I gotta get it off my chest….I’m back,” Zayn said as the fans started chanting “Ole ole ole” and “Welcome back,” giving the former champ a standing ovation.
Zayn said that every time a dream comes true for him lately it turns into a nightmare, mentioning the time he won the NXT title and then facing Cena for the U.S. title in Montreal. “Tonight, that trend is broken,” he said.
Zayn told the crowd that he appreciates all of them and so does everybody in the back. “NXT” chants broke out and Zayn said that they hear them backstage. He thanked the London crowd for their “rabid support” and he classified London fans as some of the best he ever had the pleasure of working in front of.
He promised more big things for him and NXT in 2016. The match was taped for next week’s NXT television show. You can check out the video below.
Here’s the report for NXT Takeover: London WWE Network special event, which took place from the SSE Arena Wembley in London, England.
Triple H opened up the show similar to NXT Takeover: Brooklyn however with dimmed lights rather than pitch black. He said that last Sunday he got his ass kicked, it wasn’t the first time, and it won’t be the last, but there was nothing that was going to stop him from appearing tonight to be with the London fans. “This is your brand, this is your time,” HHH said, and he then encouraged everyone to scream, “We are NXT” with him.
Things kick off with the women’s match between Asuka and Emma, who was accompanied by Emma. Fans chant “Asuka’s gonna kill ya” at Emma. Match started with a lot of rest holds and reversals, very old school. Emma had the majority of the upper hand with fans rallying behind Asuka every time she manages to get in front. Fans also made fun of the ref 10 count as every time he was counting a number they immediately yelled the next one quickly. The referee was sandwiched and then Asuka was almost disqualified after he caught her with a belt that Emma brought in and Asuka tried to take away. Eventually she locked Emma in the Asuka Lock but Dana Brooke interfered and the ref didn’t see her tap out. Emma then got the belt again but Asuka hit her with a roundhouse kick and pinned the Aussie Diva. Great match!
The Tag Team titles were up next, with Enzo Amore and Big Cass receiving a massive, massive pop. The British fans did the whole intro shtick and the duo – plus Carmella – looked like true Superstars. Dash and Dawson meanwhile were welcomed with the “Who are ya?” typical British chant. Enzo got a good pop when he revealed the Union Jack as part of his wrestling gear too and Big Cass had the London Bridge on the back of his tights. Both were treated with typical football chants, changed for Enzo and Cass. The faces started on top for a bit much to the enjoyment of the crowd but the tag champs turned it around a few minutes into the match, with Enzo on the receiving end of most of the punishment. Big Cass then made the hot tag and cleaned house but his knee was taken out. Enzo and Cass had the match won but Dawson pulled out Amore out who was covering for the pin. Dash and Dawson then pulled out the victory, with the fans obviously disappointed with the result.
A total attendance of 10,079 was announced inside the SSE Arena Wembley, the second largest attendance for an NXT show behind NXT Takeover: Brooklyn.
Baron Corbin vs Apollo Crews was next on the card. Corbin came out first, followed by Crews who got a nice ovation. Corbin got the “Cor-bin sucks” chant to the same beat of “New Day rocks.” He didn’t care. So fans proceeded to tell him that he’s shit and then the not-so PG “F*ck you Corbin.” The match was overshadowed by the chants from fans, who chanted “Botchamania” as well after Corbin botched a move and “boring” when Corbin was on the advantage. Rough night for the former NFL player. Despite all this, Baron Corbin won the match with the End of Days finishing maneuver and cleanly pinned Apollo Crews.
Sami Zayn was announced returning to NXT television next week. After that, Nia Jax was cutting a promo backstage and was interrupted briefly by Asuka and the two shared a staredown. Simple and effective.
The NXT Women’s title up next. Nia Jax looking all pretty came out first followed by the champion, Bayley. As expected, Bayley got a nice pop from the crowd and “Bayley Bayley” chants. The Brits were up to throw their hands in the air as well with the champ. The creative chants continued with fans singing “Heeeeey Bayley, uuuuuh aaaaa I wanna knooooow if you’d be my girl!” Obvious size difference here, Nia Jax dominating and the early story being that Bayley hitting Jax with several moves but couldn’t drop her to the mat. Nia Jax hits three Samoan drops and then a Hogan leg drop but Bayley survived. She then hit three more leg drops to the back of the head and went for the easy pin and Bayley kicked out to a massive pop. Hayley managed to lock the guillotine choke twice but Jax powered out by slamming her opponent to the mat. Bayley locked in the choke a third time with fans chanting “tap, tap, tap” and after a few Nia Jax tapped with Bayley retaining the NXT Women’s title.
The NXT Takeover: London main event started with 20 minutes left on the clock. Balor came out with Jack The Ripper hat and coat and his demon body paint. Awesome. Fans chant “Let’s go Balor” while some of them chant “Let’s go Joe.” Balor starts on top however the tide turns quickly when Joe slams Balor pretty hard on the outside. Despite being the heel, Samoa Joe was getting some support during the match regardless. A big spot came when Balor was outside and then Joe ran for a suicide dive, taking out Balor and rolling back the carpet of the entrance way! Balor got the upper hand and hit the Coup de Grace diving double foot stomp finisher but Joe kicked out and then Joe went for the Muscle Buster but Balor reversed it. Joe locked in the Kokina clutch but once again Balor reversed it and hit the double foot stomp. The two beat the 10 count and then Balor unloaded on his opponent with several drop kicks which landed Joe perfectly for the Coup de Grace but Joe stood up and went for the muscle buster finisher as Balor was on the top rope. Balor chopped Joe off the ropes and then landed the Coup de Grace for the 1, 2, 3. Your winner and still NXT champion, Finn Balor!
After the match, Joe is helped to the back as he is bleeding from his chin and the trainer is in the ring checking on Finn Balor. The trainer stays in the ring as Balor celebrates his win.
The new WWE World Heavyweight champion Roman Reigns appeared on ESPN’s SportsCenter last night with Jonathan Coachman, as ESPN resumed its WWE segment after a two week hiatus.
Reigns said that he had a crazy year that started at the Royal Rumble in Philly where things didn’t go according to plan but had to deal with the fans’ reaction. He said it was a wild ride but he’s happy that it had such an ending, winning the title at the same place where fans rejected him 12 months ago.
Clips of Reigns beating the hell out of Triple H from the TLC pay-per-view aired as well as him winning the title on Raw and said that he was kept away from the title for too long.
Coach discussed Reigns’ family and how his cousins are The Rock, The Usos, and other members of his family all wrestled, including his father. The new champ went over how it was growing up with so many cousins, competing with them at everything at home.
Former WWE head of security Jim Dotson passed away last week on December 10 at the age of 49. He is mostly remembered during the Attitude Era, often wearing a hat.
A GoFundMe.com campaign says that Jim spent years dealing with health issues including a serious incurable eye disease which kept him from working over the past several years. Dotson had no life or health insurance and most of his time was spent volunteering handicapped people and taking care of his elderly mother who is unable to cover any expenses. The campaign is hoping to raise $4,000 in 30 days but it’s already at over $2,000 in just 3 days.
Funeral service will be held tomorrow, December 17. Visitation will be from Noon to 2PM at Madison Church of Christ, in Madison, Tennessee. Burial. The burial will happen at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Goodlettsville, Tennessee following the service.
Family is asking that in lieu of flowers fans should make a donation at the GoFundMe campaign page which can be found at https://www.gofundme.com/84emh3cs.

Regal, an integral part of NXT as the on-screen General Manager as well as a major figure backstage at the WWE Performance Center, has been traveling with the crew in the United Kingdom for the tour and also held a one-man show on his own the day before the tour. He was supposed to do another one tomorrow but obviously that has been canceled.
