SAG-AFTRA President issues statement offering support to wrestlers

Jon Alba from Spectrum Sports 360 reached out SAG-AFTRA following the firing of Zelina Vega and their response to the action, including SAG-AFTRA President Grabrielle Carteris publicly tweeting about what happened.

In a statement issued by Carteris, she said that wrestling is as much about media as it is sports, and they are going to directly engage with members within the wrestling industry to help find ways for them to protect themselves.

“As more people reinvest in unions, and as more working people are harassed by employers who don’t want to protect them, SAG-AFTRA is committed to doing what we can to help professional wrestlers secure the protections they deserve,” the statement said.

The statement failed to mention WWE but rather tackled the industry as a whole.
