Rey Mysterio pulled from indie show citing WWE commitments

Rey Mysterio has been pulled from an independent wrestling event on August 24 due to WWE commitments.

Northeast Wrestling, which has promoted Mysterio for its Wrestling Under The Stars event in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, posted on Facebook saying, “Unfortunately due to his upcoming contractual situation with WWE Rey Mysterio is unable to appear on August 24th. If you purchased Rey Mysterio preordered meet and greet items they will be refunded or can be used towards other superstars.” The event features Ryback, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Emma, Mark Henry, Jack Swagger, Fenix, and others.

Mysterio has been rumored to be starting with WWE soon following his inclusion in the WWE 2K19 video game. He will be part of the All In show on September 1, teaming with Fenix and Bandido taking on The Golden Elite.

The former World Heavyweight champion made two WWE appearances this year, one at the Royal Rumble and the other at the Greatest Royal Rumble in Jeddah.
