Dwayne Johnson rumored for Transformers 5 role

Several movie websites are reporting that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is being considered for the leading role in the fifth instalment of Transformers, replacing Mark Wahlberg.

The story making rounds is that Johnson, along with Bruce Willis, will be brought over for a crossover story with G.I. Joe as both franchises are owned by Paramount Pictures.

Transformers 5 is set to be released in 2017 with a new director set to take over from Michael Bay who helmed the first four Transformers movies.

The Transformers franchise is one of the best selling in Hollywood.
