Dave Bautista to play leading role in upcoming Netflix movie Army of the Dead

Deadline.com is reporting that Dave Bautista has signed to play the leading star in the upcoming Netflix movie Army of the Dead, a $70 million-budget zombie heist film that Zack Snyder will direct.

The script revolves around a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, where a man assembles a group of mercenaries to take the ultimate gamble: venturing into the quarantined zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted. Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder are producing, and Ori Marmur and Andrew Norman are overseeing it for Netflix. Shay Hatten and Snyder wrote the screenplay.

The former World Heavyweight champion has three movies coming out, first Avengers: Endgame where he reprises the role of Drax, the movie Stuber which comes out in July, and My Type, which has no release date yet but scheduled for later this year. He is booked for two future movies as well – Dune and the third Guardians of the Galaxy.

He returns to the ring tomorrow night at WrestleMania 35 to face Triple H in a no holds barred match.
