Variety is reporting that former multi-time champion Dave Bautista has been cast as Kratos in the Prime Video series God of War.

The role was previously portrayed by Ryan Hurst, but Hurst got injured and the character was re-cast, catapulting Bautista in the leading role of the series.

Hurst tore his bicep while filming a stunt for the show and the recovery time was too long to halt production, forcing the studio to go with a different actor instead.

The show will resume filming in October and Amazon has not officially announced a release date for the live-action series yet.
