Batista in talks with Marvel to play the role of Drax The Destroyer

ComicBookMovie.com is reporting that former WWE and World Heavyweight champion Batista has made the shortlist to play the role of Drax The Destroyer in Marvel’s upcoming movie Guardians of the Galaxy.

According to the site, Batista, Isaiah Mustafa, and Brian Patrick Wade are all in negotiations with Marvel to play the role.

In the comic book world, Drax was a human whose family was attacked and killed by the supervillain Thanos. To combat Thanos, Drax – whose name in the comic book is Arthur Douglas – has his spirit taken away by another character, Kronos – and placed into a new body which has enhanced strength and resilience, flight, and the ability to project energy blasts from his hands.
