Two new champions crowned at Double or Nothing 2020

Two new champions were crowned at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view yesterday in Jacksonville.

The first was Cody who became the inaugural TNT champion after he defeated Lance Archer. Both their managers, Arn Anderson and Jake Roberts, got involved, with Anderson getting ejected from ringside. Roberts was also about to introduce his snake, but former boxing heavyweight champion Mike Tyson prevented that from happening.

The title presented to Cody was incomplete with AEW saying that due to the pandemic, the title could not be finished in time.

Also, Hikaru Shida became the new AEW Women’s champion, becoming the second Japanese star to hold the title after the inaugural winner Riho. It was a short stint for champ Nyla Rose who won the title in February on Dynamite and defended it only once since then. Shida had some assist from a kendo stick to win the title.
