There has been a lot of reports on Chris Jericho possibly moving to WWE once his current AEW deal expires at the end of this year.
During the media scrum with reporters ahead of tonight’s Death Before Dishonor show, AEW President Tony Khan put over Jericho and said he would never be where he is today in AEW without Jericho.
He also credited Jericho for buying Ring of Honor, saying that without Jericho, he would have not been in a position to do so.
“I’m very grateful to Chris. I think the world of Chris, and I would love to have Chris back, and certainly he’s been a great, great star for us since the very beginning of AEW,” Khan said.
Jericho has been off AEW television for months but Khan said that if the opportunity presents itself to have him back, he would love to have him back.
“I think the world of him and Chris Jericho’s always in the highest of standing with me and with AEW and ROH, where he has been a great champion, a great ambassador, a great leader, and a great friend to all of us…and Chris Jericho’s a huge part of our companies here,” Khan continued.
Jericho recently “liked” a social media post about him going back to WWE and even posted a photo of himself where he seems to be in a private jet two days ago writing, “#Contemplation.”
Jericho has been with AEW since its inception in 2019 but seemingly fell out of favor with the fans this year, prompting him to take a long sabbatical.
