Tony Khan says they’re on the verge of the most important deal in AEW history

AEW President Tony Khan remained bullish on the upcoming media rights deal and said that right now is the most important time ever in the history of AEW.

Speaking on Chicago-based Q101 radio, Khan said that they’re on the verge of the most important deal they’ll ever make, referring to the media rights deal with, presumably, Warner Bros. Discovery.

“Over five years it’s really been building to this point where AEW’s going to jump into the media rights and be a very profitable, successful company that has lived up to every expectation,” Khan said.

The exclusive negotiation window with WBD has ended with no deal announced yet although industry insiders feel it’s just a matter of time before it is announced. But the question is not if, but how much, AEW will be getting for their new deal.

Khan has openly said that he wants to stay with the WBD family and also add a streaming deal with Max.

The amount of the deal with determine the profitability of the company over the next several years as well as their ability to pay good money for the biggest stars in the business.
