Taya Valkyrie makes AEW debut on Dynamite

Taya Valkyrie made her AEW debut last night on Dynamite, and while she did not answer Jade Cargill’s TBS title open challenge, she did make her presence felt after the match.

After Cargill defeated Nicole Matthews, she taunted another Canadian – Renee Paquette – and wondered if there was any other Canadian she could face.

Out came Valkyrie who stood face-to-face with the TBS champion but after some exchange of words, Cargill backed off. Leila Gray attempted to attack Valkyrie from behind but Taya was ready for her, taking her out with Cargill’s own finisher, the Jaded.

“Welcome to AEW, @thetayavalkyrie,” tweeted AEW President Tony Khan after her segment aired. “Great to see a Canadian star arrive TONIGHT on TBS on Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite in Winnipeg!” The tweet was accompanied by the usual “All Elite” welcome graphic.
