New interim women’s ROH TV champion crowned

A new interim women’s ROH TV champion was crowned yesterday during the ROH Supercard of Honor.

Crowd favorite Mina Shirakawa defeated Persephone, Yuka Sakazaki, and Miyu Yamashita in a four-way match to get the title, with Shirakawa winning the match after she submitted Yamashita with the figure-four leg lock.

The match came together within a few days after AEW President Tony Khan announced that the champion, Red Velvet, was out of action due to injury and could not defend the title on the show.

Rather than stripping her of the title, Khan announced that an interim champion instead would be crowned at Supercard of Honor, with the match only made official before the show started.

Shirakawa and Velvet will now meet at a later date once Velvet is cleared to compete to determine the champion.
