Mercedes Mone loses the NJPW Strong Women’s title

Mercedes Mone has one less title to carry around now as the CEO lost the NJPW Women’s Strong title last night at the NJPW Resurgence show in Ontario, California.

The match featured Mone vs AZM vs Mina Shirakawa in the main event but Mone was not involved in the actual finish and was never pinned, with AZM pinning Shirakawa to gain the title.

The CEO blamed Mina for her loss and after throwing a temper tantrum, she shoved her down. AZM then proceeded to chase Mone to the back.

This ends Mone’s 314-day reign as champion, having won it originally from Stephanie Vaquer at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view in June 2024.

She remains the TBS champion and RevPro’s Undisputed British Women’s champion and has a chance to go for the AEW Women’s title if she can win the Owen Hart Cup tournament final.
