Kenny Omega to take time off from AEW to recover from injuries

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that Kenny Omega will be taking time off from AEW due to several injuries and surgery is probably required to correct some of them.

The injuries Omega is suffering from include knee, shoulder, abdominal hernia, and others. The ideal scenario is to try and have multiple surgeries at once to correct all the issues and then return fully fit but it’s not clear yet what the plan is at the moment.

The former AEW champion, who lost the title to Hangman Page this past weekend, appeared on Dynamite last night and told his fellow Elite members to take care of stuff while he’s out until he comes back.

AEW’s next pay-per-view is in February which could be a target date but he could also be out further than that and maybe return in time for Double or Nothing in May.
