FTR become the new AEW Tag Team champs on Dynamite

The Top Guys are staying put in AEW as the duo of Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler became the new AEW World Tag Team champions last night on Dynamite, defeating The Gunns in the main event of the show.

The stipulation was that if FTR lose the match, then they must depart All Elite Wrestling. The angle was played up to the Internet audience as FTR have their contracts coming up this month and Harwood was teasing the idea that they’re leaving the company.

Their win halts The Gunns’ reign after just 56 days after they beat The Acclaimed on an episode of Dynamite in February.

This marks FTR’s second reign with the titles. Their first one came in September 2020 after they beat Kenny Omega and Adam Page at All Out. They kept the titles for 63 days before losing them to The Young Bucks at Full Gear.
