Daniel Garcia shows up at All In, costs MJF title against Will Ospreay

Daniel Garcia returned at All In last night and caused a distraction to MJF which led to Will Ospreay taking advantage and beat him to become the new AEW International champion.

The 25-year-old last appeared on AEW television on the July 3 episode of Dynamite, losing to Ospreay and then MJF turned heel on him after the match.

Garcia’s disappearance was due to his contract negotiations with the company as he had not signed a new deal and the MJF beatdown served as an exit for him if he had decided to leave.

While it’s unclear when Garcia’s deal is up, the fact that he was brought back at All In suggests that the two sides are either close to or have agreed to a new contract.

AEW President Tony Khan was asked about Garcia in the post-show press conference, with Khan saying that Garcia is a great part of AEW and has been with the company for a long time, but failed to give any real update.

“Without saying exactly what’s going on, it’s a good sign that he was here,” Khan said. “And really great to have him come and take that next step tonight after what happened with him and MJF, and Will Ospreay being involved in the International title, it was a great payoff to a lot of storytelling in the recent weeks on Dynamite.”
