Christopher Daniels retires from in-ring competition

In a post on social media, Christoper Daniels has announced that he has retired from in-ring competition. His last match was the Texas Death match against “Hangman” Adam Page on Collision.

“I’m sad that it’s over. But so very happy that it had happened,” Daniels wrote on X. “Thank you all!”

The belief was that Daniels would not be making a return to the ring following his Collision loss to Page but it was never advertised that it would be his last match, something which apparently Daniels did not want to make a big deal out of.

The 54-year-old started his pro wrestling career in 1993 and wrestled for the WWF, WCW, ROH, TNA, NJPW, a bunch of independent promotions, and ultimately AEW.

His biggest successes came in ROH and TNA, where he is a multi-time champion across many divisions.

Daniels joined AEW in 2019 as one of the first signees to the promotion. Apart from an on-screen talent, he also worked for AEW behind the scenes where he occupies the role of Head of Talent Relations.
