Adam Copeland reflects on his sixth year anniversary of his return to wrestling

In a video posted on his social media accounts yesterday, the Rated R Superstar, Adam “Edge” Copeland reflected on the sixth year anniversary of his return at the Royal Rumble.

Edge made a surprise return in the 30-man over-the-top rope match at the 2020 Royal Rumble, entering at #21 to a gigantic pop from the crowd.

“You know, for me, every second after that first ‘You think you know me’ at the Rumble in Houston, it’s been a success, man,” he said. “You know the story, I wasn’t supposed to do this, yet here we are six years later.”

He said that if you had told him six years ago that he would still be wrestling, he would have thought you were crazy.

“But man, I’ve just been, I’ve been so lucky. I feel like I got my dream career twice. You know, I got to do it the first time, had to retire for nine years and then get it back again,” he continued.

He added that he’s a realist and knows his career is coming to a close but he has a “little bit more to go.”

“So yeah, thank you. Thanks for reminding me. And yeah, I’m just reflecting. Reflecting, it’s been a four decade career now.” Copeland said, noting that wrestling different talent in AEW has been a blast and he’s in a stage of his life where he wouldn’t do it unless it’s fun.
