Roderick Strong debuts on Dynamite, joins AEW

Roderick Strong became the fourth and final member of NXT’s Undisputed Era to join AEW after yesterday he came out to help his former tag team partner Adam Cole in his fight against Chris Jericho and the JAS.

With fans chanting “undisputed,” the two hugged in the middle of the ring for a big pop from the crowd.

AEW President Tony Khan announced Strong’s signing following his appearance in a tweet.

Strong, who has not been seen on WWE TV since October of last year, had previously requested his release from WWE but it was denied. His contract did run out and was written off TV after he was attacked by Damon Kemp backstage on an episode of NXT.

The former NXT Cruiserweight champion now joins his wife Marina Shafir, Cole, and Kyle O’Reilly in the promotion. Bobby Fish misses out as his deal was not picked up again by AEW.

Strong, now 39, joined WWE in 2016 and also had a stint with Ring of Honor in the past where he was an ROH World champion.
