Owen Hart Cup tournament returning with matches to be held in Canada

AEW President Tony Khan appeared on Dynamite last night to announce the second annual Owen Hart Cup tournament.

The opening ceremony of the tournament will take place at the upcoming Double or Nothing pay-per-view next month in Las Vegas while the actual tournament will happen on Canadian territory.

Matches will take place at AEWxNJPW: Forbidden Door PPV and other AEW events in Canada with the finals being held at the Calgary Saddledome non-televised live event on July 15.

July 15 falls on a Saturday so when the new AEW show launches it might turn into a live broadcast instead.

Adam Cole and Britt Baker were the inaugural winners of the Owen Hart Cup tournament, defeating Samoa Joe and Ruby Soho respectively.
