Variety.com is reporting that John Cena has booked another movie along with Kathy Bates as they star in The Independent, a political thriller also starring Brian Cox and Jodie Turner-Smith.

This movie is set in the final weeks of the most polarizing presidential election in history where a young journalist partners with her idol to take on a conspiracy that places the fate of the election, and the country, in their hands.

Cena will play the role of the independent presidential candidate.
