WWE boasts over 50,000 fans at SummerSlam 2021

WWE announced a sold-out crowd of 51,326 for SummerSlam at the Allegiant Stadium yesterday and a press release issued after the show said that it has set an indoor attendance record for the event.

That is both true and false. Only SummerSlam 92, which was held outdoor in London, England, has more attendance than this show and this was the highest-attended indoor SummerSlam in history. None of the previous SummerSlam events – except the 1992 one – were held in stadiums.

But the attendance number is inflated by around 6,000 as WWE had just over 46,000 tickets on sale. According to ticket tracking service WrestleTix, WWE sold 45,690 tickets for the show, around 98% of the estimated capacity.
