WWE welcomes Olympic gold medalists wrestlers at SummerSlam

Olympic gold medalists Tamyra Mensah-Stock and Gable Steveson got the VIP treatment at SummerSlam, including their own full entrance and time in the ring.

Both Mensah-Stock and Stevenson are huge WWE fans and the two won gold medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics last month, with Mensah-Stock becoming the first African-American to win a gold medal in wrestling.

Stevenson won the gold medal literally in the final half second after he was behind in points. His brother is already part of the WWE developmental system and has made it known multiple times that he would like to go to WWE.

If that was a way to woo them to the company, well, it was the perfect sell. Mensah-Stock carried her gold medal with her around her neck and looked super excited to be there. Stevenson is still shopping around and has held talks with Bellator and meeting UFC’s Dana White too before deciding on his future.
