Kenny Omega’s angry tweet directed at EVOLVE and WWE backfires

AEW EVP Kenny Omega wrote, and later deleted, an angry tweet at WWE and EVOLVE for scheduling the EVOLVE 10th year anniversary event on the WWE Network on the same day there is Fight for the Fallen.

“If lining your pockets with blood money is okay, then what’s wrong with trying to undermine a charity show for victims of gun violence?” Omega said.

The tweet was obviously aimed at EVOLVE’s management for accepting WWE’s offer to be on the Network. The blood money reference is due to WWE getting paid by Saudi Arabia. “I hear that healthy competition is supposed to be a good thing and yet I can’t help but feel like I’m gonna be sick,” he continued in the same tweet.

But the angry outburst backfired on the former IWGP Heavyweight champion and he was met with several criticism for his choice of words. Omega eventually deleted the tweet and later issued a clarification.

“I’ve said my piece and it opened the door to a very toxic environment. It wasn’t a message to fans, or the boys, just the decision makers. I wish everyone wrestling on any show that day all the best. That is all,” he concluded.
