James Ellsworth gets WWE World Heavyweight title shot next week

Daniel Bryan, the Smackdown General Manager, announced on Talking Smack last night that following his non-title match win against AJ Styles, James Ellsworth will be getting a WWE World Heavyweight title shot next week on Smackdown!

Ellsworth defeated AJ Styles on yesterday although his win came thanks to a lot of help from Dean Ambrose, who also happened to be the special guest referee of the match. Ellsworth pinned the champ after Ambrose hit the Dirty Deeds on him.

Ellsworth has been wrestling for the past 14 years and made his first WWE television appearance in July when he wrestled Braun Strowman on Raw. Eventually he was offered a small role on Smackdown to tag with AJ Styles but he got attacked by The Miz before the match and Miz ended up taking his place. The 31-year-old has also worked as a Rosebud a few times when Adam Rose was around.
